  • I don't think anyone understands what these producers have started.

Downloading is now in decline, and eventually will stop. Because technology is getting better, and guess who is going to have the best technology.

    The government

And who is the government going to give this great technology to.....

Cyber Police to catch these downloading thiefs

  • If you choose to download copyright material just remember that the law is on the books to protect the creators of whatever you downloaded from you profiting off of it. Sharing is not piracy. If the data question is released to the public than its the right to the consumer to do what he wants. Shut down the p2p sites and the companies that make recorder products if the copyright abuse is out of hand? Its not going to happen just remember.. It makes money to extort money . SHARING IS NOT PIRACY!!

  • If a program airs on television and you have a digital video recorder, VHS and record it for personal use or to share with a friend is no different than sharing it on a file sharing site. The Privacy Act of 1974 law prohibits these extortionists from this stupid copyright law. They might use loop holes in it but they extort buy expecting you not to drag it out in court and pay out a few thousand to settle. I can understand copyright law but not the free means to obtain the material question?FU

  • Its a shit movie anyway

  • If I hadnt of downloaded it, I wouldnt of bought the DVD anyway, I watched it in the cinema 3 TIMES!!!! They got their money, now leave me alone

  • Also does it include utorrent users and bit-comet, and transmission users?

  • @steffono3 i believe it's the torrent users, anyone who physically downloaded it is getting sued, read the description bar

  • @TheMcRaeBrothers

The bittorrent client you used to download files isn't how anti-p2p organizations are finding copyright infringers.

Rather they can see who is downloading on the peer list and follow up your ip address.

This can be avoided by using a filter on your client or filter/firewall type deal (such as peerblock)

Anti-p2p can still make it through these extra precautions.. Your best bet is to use invite only torrent sites or a uncommonly used open torrent site.

  • @TheMcRaeBrothers nah, bro its only bittorrent

but more and more movies are going to do the same thing hurt locker did, so watch out

  • Are they suing bit-torrent(.)com users or the actual bit-torrent program users?

  • They make a movie about soldiers fighting for americas "freedom" and then sue 5,000 people for living that "freedom"?

  • LOL,I'm going to download a copy now just to piss them off.

  • Piracy is bad m'kay....Anyone notice how Lars Ulricht et al keep on making albums? They still make enough money, so....fuck 'em.

  • hope you get better soon man

  • they deserve to have to pay.

All that effort put into the film, and some bastards downd-load if for free.

    Its not on !!

  • @CharlezBrincat fuck up like you've NEVER EVER EVER DOWNLOADED ANYTHING ILLEGALLY EVER EVER EVER. No songs, no movies, nothing copyrighted ever ever? fuck up hypocrite.

  • Hey come on guys, think of all the pain your causing these film producers, I mean i heard the lead star of Hurt Locker can now only buy a 3million dollar plane instead of a 4 million dollar plane, how can you all be so cruel

  • @porangahauien Okay, so then if he makes 10 movies in his career, and loses 1mil dollar for each movie.....thats 10 mil dollar. Maybe you need to experience the feeling of getting robbed, and then you will understand

  • @mikez44 of course your correct. But you might lose 100k for each movie, as compared to the millions you make, say 100,000 people illegaly download the movie theyre not going to be losing a whole lot of money as a percentage, get over it

  • @porangahauien Put it this way mate....you try work extremely hard in your career. When you have and you make your money, Ill come over and take a few million dollars (if you make that much...haha lol)

Then lets see if you care

  • @mikez44 hahahahaha. Too funny mate, but seriously they might lose a million dollars over their entire career and make 100hundred million. Your not looking at the bigger picture here.

  • @porangahauien So what happens if they make only one movie and lose alot of money due to downloads. hmm...seems like they are going to suffer

Quote Marshall Erickson (How I Met Your Mother) "LAWYERED"

  • From the way it looks these no name producers started a crusade to extort money from people who had enough sense not to see the movie. Who gives a rats ass about the copyright holy than thow losers who probably have more bootleg data than the average joe obtaining data through free means p2p.A group of people can sue a tobacco coperation for millions in damages cause they choose to smoke their product and get cancer for using but your a thief in the eyes of the government?

  • @thaddeusmcgrath that's a really great point, they're all just nickle and dimers my friend

  • The hurt locker sucked! And the fact that they are suing people just shows how shit they really are!Frackem!!!

  • piracy is theft. I'm not gonna pretend I've never been involved in downloading before, few internet users haven't. But let's be honest, through piracy so many fields of entertainment are being ripped off in broad daylight, and there's almost nothing they can do about it, so it has to be expected that whenever they can do something, they will with a vengance

  • @Lankythepyro that said tho, they shouldn't be attacking individuals. Let's be honest, when someone offers us something for free, we take it. I know some people that pirate widely, freely and carelessly and perhaps they should be sued, but most individuals that download this stuff are doing so to keep up with mainstream when they can't afford to.

They should be attacking the sites and ilegal distributors, they're the villains here. Attacking the individuals will just make another victim

  • @Lankythepyro the only villain is you mate!Frack copyright and frack you!

  • @CONSTRINGACY well done making sense there. Good luck with your war against copyright

  • @addys Weve already won just go to any video streaming site!!! I can watch any move for free without being sued! You dont have to download to watch it!

  • @Lankythepyro Despite what you may have been brainwashed to believe, piracy is most definitely *not* theft. Theft is an unauthorised taking of another's property with the intent to permanently deprive that person of the property or its use. BitTorrent users download a digital *copy* for their own personal enjoyment. You wouldn't expect an artist to sue you for having a copy of one of their paintings as your desktop background, why should music and movies be any different?

  • @ineffable0ne yours isn't the only definition of theft. 'Theft: a criminal taking of the property or services of another without consent.' But mince terms all you like, the fact is that by downloading films or music you are gaining access to a product that you would otherwise have to pay the owner for. As such, you are depriving them of that pay. A friend downloaded this movie, and he showed it to myself, my brother and another friend, and as a result it sold 4 less tickets at theatres

  • @ineffable0ne with the example of music a nightclub has to pay everytime they play a song. When Im hosting a party why should I be allowed to play that same music without paying for the CD? Lets just say you see an artists painting that you like, would it be morally correct to photograph it without their consent so you can make a print of it for your wall, rather than pay for the painting? I'm not saying to stop pirating. Im just saying that if you do the crime, be prepared to face the penalty

  • @Lankythepyro I'm sorry, but you'll have to excuse me for not being sympathetic to the producers who don't get their fat fuckin wallets stuffed quite as full as they otherwise could have. If a musician enjoys writing a song, they should enjoy letting other people listen to it - not selling it. I'm not suggesting that downloading movies and music isn't a crime - I just don't think it should be. But, unfortunately, in our fucked up society everything is about money, so that's not likely to change.

  • @ineffable0ne Okay, so producers and songwriters and artists should all do their thing out of the kindness of their hearts, and not expect to be paid to provide their service. I hope life's swell in your hippy commune, where money is a banished evil, you carry a chicken to the shops to trade for a pair of shoes and your computer is powered by the positive chi emitted by a peace sign made of cherokee hair.

  • @Lankythepyro If an artist is just doing it for the money, then they're not a fucking artist. Art, music, theatre (and by extension, movies) are about expression, not 'providing a service'. And no, but you're close - in my hippie commune you don't need a chicken for trade because the shoes are provided free of charge. As is the electricity. As are homes, cars, and all state of the art technologies. In fact it's not a hippie commune, it's called The Venus Project. You should investigate it.

  • @ineffable0ne Well, the Venus Project is really something, and it must be a real honour to be taking part in such a program. I hope for the sake of humanity that it goes well. Forgive my prior cynicism, this is the first time I've encountered someone that addressed money as an evil that was actually working towards a better alternative.

In the meantime tho, no one is giving these artists (or anyone else in mainstream society) their homes or their food, they need to make money to get them

  • @ineffable0ne today the arts of music & film are becoming far removed from the 'art' aspect of them, & I think that the mainstream artists & producers make too much money. But there are a lot of people who believe in art and are struggling because they wish to make it their lives. I believe these people have a right to be paid for their art, just as picasso & dali were before them.

Trent Reznor openly supports piracy of his music, but he already made his millions so its easy for him to be

  • @Lankythepyro Well put my friend. And I do agree, a true artist should be rewarded for creating a true work of art (da Vinci needed to eat too;)

(FYI, anyone can can take part - just check out The Zeitgeist Movement, and spread the word=)

  • it's simple, you do the crime be prepared to do the time! would you flip burgers at McDonalds 9-5 every day for free? no, so why expect others not to get paid for their work. this is their jobs, how they put food on the table for their wives, husbands and kids. if people werent tight asses in the first place and paid the $20 it costs to see a movie they wouldnt be getting sued for $1500.

  • well all we know is anything that is free is illegal 0.0
