  • Great Video!

I have a E-Zip made by currie electric bike with a lead cell battery. I heard the battery itself can short out in the rain.

  • did u see the lincvolt car neil young the singer is trying to build?i'm betting the possibility of a 100 mpg 1959 lincoln could be done.i thank neil young for putting his money time and life into this.

he needs our support as much as the world needs his right now i think.

  • Obrigado pelas dicas ! espero poder comprer uma bicicleta dessas em breve aqui no Brasil.

Vc tem muito talento para falar e dar dicas. grato

    Good sugestion ! tanck

  • Why don't you just use heat shrink tubing to cover the connector? Easier than the bike handlegrip, more watertight, and would only take a knife to remove... just like the zipties.

  • good suggestion!

  • @tenshinoime Yes, Busettii Bikes have the good pedaling system so you can use it as a bike or pedal with the motor. I have one and it runs about 75--85 miles per charge but you can also pedal like a regular bike. Also, it really goes fast even in throttle mode. Check out busettii dot com if you need more info. ciao

  • This will be purely a stunt to prove that old-school bike bearings and even, steel tubing, can be made totally safe from water-ingress, forever. We shall see how this actually works out, as the build-thread progresses at Endless Sphere e-bike forum.

Cheers and =thanks= for YOUR work toward this good goal. Rain? I want to submarine, ha ha!

  • Hey Reid, thanks for check out our video. I would love to see your eZee cruiser bike going for a swim. We looking forward to see your finish project!

  • @powerinmotion, I foolishly crashed the project bike a couple of years ago. We went flying, my fault.

  • Torrential downpours?

  • clear packing tape works well and so dose more shirk tube 5 bucks for more then you will need at radio shack hair dryer or a lighter to shrink it

  • GREAT JOB! can you tell me how i can get more mileage? with more volts or more amps. and if i series batteries together to get more volts, will that damage my motor? thanks for the info.

  • It is best to communicate this kind tech question by email. Most of 36v controller can handle 48v battery pack (over voltage), with Crystlayte product, you can also get 36-72v controller. We find this the most flexible controller, combine with dual 37v lithium battery. It give us both distance and speed.

    Ken

  • If you haven't figure it out by now haha(sorry about the slow reply), you must increase your amp hour, this is by hooking it up in Parallel.

If you are planning on hooking it up in series the motors can normally handle up to 72 volts. Its your controller that you have to worry about, controllers are sensitive to the voltage, thus a 36v controller should run on 36v, (most up to 48). If you want a freedom in voltage then you should consider a 36-72v controller from our website. itselectric . ca

  • can you use your ebike in freezing temp ? I mean i'll ofcourse take out the battery once journey is over but can you ride during freezing weather ?

  • yes. Our company is based in Calgary, Canada. Many of our local customers that are all season riders will use this as their only transportation all year round. This key thing is to move the controller high off the ground from the snow, and a good set of studded tire.

  • Many thanks for this video...

Do you think eBikes are safe in tropical weather? Where I live gets quite humid and hot, but even at night is hot. I store my bike in the Garage, .. hmm hope it's ok there.

  • Hello Australia!

sorry I didn't see your posting until now.

The hot weather does affect motor related to water proofing, but condensation can be problem. When you have hot and cold, water drop created around the cover plate of the motor can cause the motor rush from inside. This usually happen someone leave the electric outside. The other component that can be affected (not related to water proof) is Lithium battery. If you have extremely hot weather. The battery can cut off by the BMS.

  • great tips, thank you
