PhotoFlex Constellation 3 CFL is NOT a good product. The foot-long bulbs plus the entire fixture is IN FRONT of the pivot. Add the weight of the softbox, and you have a completely front heavy unbalanced light with the tendency to fall forward suddenly and smash one of the $100+ bulbs into the stand.
I recently got an Octacool-9 for about $225 complete with bulbs, about 900watts equivalent, (vs 1500w for Constellation 3). It's better balanced, has its own soft box. Better price, better product.
@harrybean2006 They are trying to make their flash soft boxes relevant for the continuous lighting market which is changing rapidly from tungsten to fluorescent.. Problem is they have to fit bulky CFL lighting through a speed ring.
Westcott has a similar bulky expensive non-solution.
I just got an Octacool 9 and-6 for my video stuff. Around $200 per fixture. Better balanced, cheaper bulbs. Not as good as the pro video lighting stuff, but better/cheaper than the Photoflex/Westcott stuff
That guy is so nervous... I can hear his voice trembling.... he obviously doesn't like being infront of the camera....

$1,300 for some CFL bulbs plugged into some regular bulb sockets? WTF, are these sellers nuts or what?
