  • art tech could had made the paint darker. it look cooler and easier to see in the sky.

  • Like the video and the advice but the music has got to go. It's sooooo annoying. It doesn't need to be playing the entire time the video is rolling.

  • i did not get the cable core and the disk for my airplane

  • where did you get that fix for the elevator?

  • What is the price ? Plz reply

  • @MrPopracing $110 without shipping

  • i think crashing your RC is ust as exciting as its 100th flight, just add some explosives and have a blast!!!

  • This Looks Exactly the same as the one on Hobbyking just without the TX, RX and battery

  • where u get it?china is it?

  • Hey man,

I just wanted to say you're ubercool and your advice is exactly what this hobby needs, practical and realistic.

I myself started dicking around with RC heli's, as you can do that indoors, but seeing the planes you test fly really makes me want to also buy one of those.

    Never stop!

  • i read about a guy who ordered a great planes silhouette. he did not order it through towerhobbies he got it from some other company. it came in a box that was perfect but the plane was like debris from a foam factory explosion. he said he will never buy from great planes again because of that when it was actually the destributors fault.

  • Hot clue and cement is garbage for foamys. CA is by far the best and fastest setting for normal applications, and 5 minute epoxy, used sparingly is the best for heavy applications.

  • Hi !

    I have got a t 28d. Do you think it is a to big steep if i buy a EF 2000 ?

  • is this the same as the hobby kink f18?

  • good airplane

  • is this the same as hobbyking sells?

  • Pull servo apart , switch 2 wires to the motor , and switch the 2 outside wires on the potentiometer(lil circuitboard) , there are only 3 you just have to reverse the outter 2 . Servo reversed-done.

  • hi, what sort of high wind can it handle??? would it be same as trex450??

  • what battery do you have to charge

  • HI i have a question can i use a 15c 11.1v 1500mah 3 cell lipo on the micro jet v3???? Plz reply

  • @cjsanchez1 yeah you can! :)

  • How did you order the jetapult because I am going to give those 70 bucks and he is going to pay it with his credit card but ow do yo order it?

  • goood job jeff..missd you at the fun fly in California..next time

  • how fast is it?

  • whats a good beginer plane??? for about $150

  • i am getting this plane 4 my b-day and im planning on putting a 5000kv motor on it!!!

  • Is the landing gear removeable??????

  • the "music" SUXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!

    ;)

  • I have one of these and I straightened out the rod on the right elevator, heated it up and melted a slot in the right rear stabilizer and it works perfectly.

  • is that a foam?

  • Hello 1st Time owner of the F-18 from Nitro. This Video helped me with making my decision ~~ !!! Thank You !!! ~~~ Assembly was easy and I used small Picture Eye hooks to guide the rear servo rods. Closest Hobbytown or R/C shop is 115 miles from me Cont..

  • how do you get the antenna out? i dont know were its at.

  • guys i lost the frequency bind cable where can i buy one

  • you can use an old sevo lead, just cut the ends off and tie them together all you are doing is shorting the connector out it will work just fine good luck gary

  • @tallerh i am so sorry for u. That happened 2 me 2. Hang in there buddy, you'll find 1!!

  • i disagree' i dont like art tech because of the poor quailty planes ive bought from them which wouldnt even take off the ground their planes are to nose heavy....

  • Would ask that the F18 art-tech Inc. to use the batteries 4s or not thanks.

    ปรับปรุงการแปล

  • you have my vote for the best youtube channel. congrats! :)

  • a personal vote or a actual pole?

  • @airsoftfreek69

    its what i think.

he puts like all his money into this stuff for him and our entertainment

  • art tech is cheap but nice and all the stickers are put on by a blind one .

and glue is bad use other clue or epoxy !!!

    great vid

    grtzzz

  • a while back i got a skyfly flyzone plane for xmas & i can actually blame my crashes on it. the rudders on this didnt connect to the servo via a metal wire, they connected by fishing line, literally. the rudder had a rubber band as a resistance, & to lower altitude was simply lettin the rubberband pull the rudder down. the cheapest thing ever.

  • i bought this jet, it flies verry scale, but extremly, slow and underpowered, but isn't that the point of ductedfans annyway! the elevator IS verry bendy, so i reversed the wackey servo job and redid the push-rod with some extra carbon fibre i had around, i wouldreccomend this plane to annyone who knows how to fly. one thing tho, the foamis verry "pretty" and easy to mar and the main lg is verry verrrry bendy thanks nightflyer for another grate review

  • Can you please tell me where to get a 100-200mah 7.2-7.4 light lipo battery for a mini yak-54 foamy. I can't find one.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • do you think one ball link on each side is enough or two on each would be better for flexing issues?

  • I love that clock going off in the back at 1:32 hehe

oh yea, i just ordered one of these bad boys through nitroplanes. prob will do the same modifications as you did with the connecting rods for the elevators.

thanks for your videos. great pilot you are.

  • I just got that plane from nitroplanes and i am wondering where to get the ball links for the push rods

  • You can buy a bag of 20 for $2.00 at most hobby stores. They are ball links for Blade 400 helicopter. I have this same jet, I didn't know what I was going to do about this problem. Luckily NightFlyer came up with this solution weeks after I built my plane.

  • Im going to but that jet from Nitroplanes. good stuff.

  • I just bought it and im a begginer. do you think it will last me anything?

  • Its worth the time it took to cover the whole thing in packing tape. The paint peels up with the tape so make sure you line it up good then just use a razor blade to trim it all up. Use that sim that it came with for a day and get confident with it! :)

  • I picked one up after watching your review, Thanks Dave and Jeff!

  • gear dont go up !

  • from now on i'm gonna use hard control rods :D

  • I cant wait for mine to get here!!! Thanks for your great and fun videos!!!

  • lol i got this grom HK, but a reciever ready version , just saw the parcel yday, they wont let me take it from the post office. saying that it will be delivered only to ur home :P. so will se it on tuesday hopefully.

  • Art Tech sells pretty good stuff as Iv'e seen on their site. Like their SU-27 and Spitfire. Keep up the good work.

  • i love your videos!

  • :O im thinking of buying this one from nitroplanes today or tomorrow since theres a black friday sale and this plane is going for 99 dollars! But im a beginner... so not such a good idea?

  • Comment removed

  • its a good idea to late now tho lol

  • Nahh i already bought the FMS sky trainer 55'' plane, and crashed it first flight. Im waiting to get parts and fix stuff now lol

  • art tech do some well detailed models, just had the MD500 D quite impressve scale details just the 35mhz radio let it down full of dry joints hey but thats rc for ya!!! good one jeff and dave

  • Love that Ultimate Biplane behind you!

  • would i be able to use hot glue to glue my airplanes together instead of there glue?

  • I use Hot glue gun to repair my planes because its better then epoxy glue! :D

  • i would agree, it dries fast, whisch means instead of waiting 2 hours till there glue dries, ill have 2 extraw housrs of fun!

  • Yeah! :D

  • yes. i would use that too. i allways use hot glue on my planes

  • I had problems with the motor of the ArtTech F-18 Hornet. After the 3rd flight, it blows about 80%, not enough power for lift. Anyone else had this problem?

  • this is a great review! looking through some of the comments, I guess the ef2000 would be a good beginner edf? Are there any other ones like it? and also, do u have any advice for beginner r/c pilots?

  • uhh..is it the F-18 hornet at bananahobby?

  • I want one of those or the mig 15

  • your modifications are great and a good idea but there not nessicerry (excuse my spelling )but it flys without problem without any modifications

  • Yes, but I like strong. Too many things have gone wrong with planes I didn't beef up. Flexing rods are not good in real planes either. And when you experience elevator or aileron flutter at high speeds with gears ripping out of your servos, you may change your mind.

  • @NightFlyyer 3D F-18 solves most "wrongs". The 1st in Aviation history flight tests of Stealth, Tailless complete 3D Vectoring [STV] were conducted in Israel in 1987 and reported on May 18, 1987 by Aviation Week. Video in a Facebook cite ["Benjamin Gal-Or"] shows how the 100-years-old, stall-spin-dangerous flight control is replaced with 3D vectoring. 3D F-15 & F-16 scaled 3D models were used after first flight tests with STV prototypes provided the first-ever proof-of-concept for STV and 3D.

  • @NightFlyyer That comes down to shady manufacturing of the product and also the persons inability to control the plane !

  • Spectrum is best.

  • hah blue angel 8 dosent exist

  • In the model aircraft world, it apparently does.

  • great review dave! just wandering does your amazing gloop work on depron?

    thanks

  • I like electric glue better on depron

  • I was looking at the Art-Tech Su-27 as my first EDF. Do you know if this would be a good one or is there another Art-Tech I should try?

  • Best is EF 2000, in my opinion.

  • stick to the planes

  • looks like I found out how the UFO Hoaxers get the footage to put on the news, lol.

  • Yes, how? Any unidentified object is not a hoax, it is just unidentified.

  • which EDF jet would you recommend as a first ever jet? I have some experience with a supercub and i want to upgrade but i cant pick which one is the best for a first jet, they all look pretty, and fragile.

  • Get the EF 2000. It can come in slow for nice landings, and has a rudder to help.

  • ok thanks a lot. I hope it can land on grass, at least somewhat without too much trouble

  • what one did you like best. the exceed or the art-tech f-18. was this plane flown on stock equipment

  • The Exceed requires a bigger battery and charger, so that is a drawback, but I sure like the way it flies. I like the Sound and speed of the ArtTech too. Both good.

  • did nitro planes correct te wrong servo for the rudder and start shipping with correct one and stronger push rods

  • I don't know, I never bought another one yet, but hope they did.

  • Wow, this is great! I like the rc planes. And the Bleu Angels too.

  • Thanks kindly.

  • Hello I will like to know if is posible to fly my Art Tech F-18 with my CX2 transmiter

  • No. Sorry.

  • How good was the simulator that came with it? Being rookie with RC planes could the simulator be enough to take me from a 2 channel straight wing to that?

  • It is a free simulator, so dont expect much, but none the less it is a good way to learn the controls, and flight. It will give you a false sense of security. If you have an instructor or a test pilot for at least one flight of the real thing, that is the best scenerio. This jet is easy to fly, but like all, they take practice to land, and that is needed to learn most.

  • Thanks for your reply. A couple days ago I just bought the FS One simulator, wow! I now know I love ailerons and elevators, my sky fly trainer is so hard in comparison to many other planes. Going to log more hours on this, buy a slow plane and than a ducted fan jet. I'm alone in this hobby where I am so this is a self tought thing. Your reviews are very helpful by the way (and the problems you solve during construction). Great job.

  • Thanks. Glad your progressing Hang in there and happy flying.

  • i wish u give me one T-T im like 4 hrs away from u lol

  • If I buy one of these ready to fly out of the box will the servos be all screwed up like that????

  • Yes. It seems all kits need a little tweaking.

  • where are u from?

  • California 50 years, now retired in The Midwest, here in Iowa.

  • whats tis song cald

  • I composed it myself and has no name...I guess my theme song.

  • This may sound real stupid but whaat does it mean if u get a twitchy leg like when ur flying, coz my leg always does that. do u think its nerves??

  • Exactly. THis happens to a lot of us and I certainly can relate. When I was flying for the motion picture industry or doing demonstrations, I used to get that. It will go away as you improve. Relax.

  • Hi Dave! I may have already mentioned it, but in response to the problem Jeff had with the Epoxy, GWS foam glue works great! Has about the same consistancy as epoxy but no messy mixing required. Also, I wish more of the models came without transmitter & receivers. Even the better radios that come with these are rather cheesy.

  • Yes, I would like to see 2.4 ghz Spectrums in everything.

I use hot melt glue on all mine, as I show in my Tiger F-18 video. It really works well too.

  • dave would u recomend the f/a-18 or the ef2000 for a first edf/depemding on flight charicteristics and handling.also turning ability and speed.

i have and easy star right now and the battery dies withing 40 seconds of flight and i cant turn i tried adjusting the servo rod but i cant get it unscrewed and now its striped all to hell so i might have to add some foam to the rudder and idk what to do with the motor

  • If you already know how to fly, I think you will find the EF 2000 the easiest to slow down and land.. Sorry about the easy star. Make a homemade plane with the parts.

  • is this hard to fly?

i can fly the fire bird phantom

  • That is a relative question as most people think they can do it till they try it. It is easy to fly if you have an instructor show you or land it for you. It is the landings that most have problems with. But if your oka with the FB, then you should be able to fly it fine.

  • Thanks dave for the battery info. By the way, have you checked out or flown the new bigger scale 90mm jet from banana hobbies? I discoverd the web site last night.

  • Your welcome. I have not done anything bigger in EDFs.

  • hi again, ive only flew the hz supercub, pkz radian, and pkz spitfire, i also like flying at fast speeds so do u think this would be ok, is this aircraft capable of taking off and landing o grass, thanks

  • I doubt it would take off from grass, but landing soft on it would be ok. It also will take off from a nice hand launch.

If your not crashing the others, no problem. Landing is more tricky, as it is fast, but it will slow down fairly nicely too. Good luck.

  • Hey.I just ordered my exceed f-18.What do you think about getting a more power battery? If they have one would it make a difference?

  • That battery is already a big one and is 4 cells needing a special charger too. It wont make a noticeable amount of difference anything bigger plus the CG would change and there is no way to move the battery to do that either.. Just get a spare battery, but they are not cheap.

  • Hi, implanning on getting this, and do u think every 'hornet jet, like that one' has a servo problem, that being it flexis to much, and do u have to glue the wings on.

    thnx

  • Yep, they have the same flex, and if I were you I would fix it the same way and the way I did it on my Exceed F-18 (blue angels one) Wing get glued on.

  • Mr.Herbert,

A review of electric Thunderbolt Warbird (p-47)RTF , if possible. Has 4 channels.

  • If I get one, I will. Thanks.

  • Ermm sry i nid help i bought a MX 1 the store manager said it good but after doing all charging stuff making it straight i cant control it

    dunnoe y

  • Helicopters are difficult for most, so relax, study my 9 heli flying tips and make sure to practice practice practice.

  • Interesting... in order to set that up right, you would need a 6-channel radio with proper reversing, and that would increase the cost. Could also use a y-cable and servo reversing cable too I guess, but I like the pushrod guide that you used... saves from a tricky radio setup and re-engineering of the whole thing! I would probably set this up with 6 channels on my Spektrum DX7 - 2 independent elevators, 2 independent ailerons, nose wheel, and throttle. Good flying - you got it!

  • Thanks. Hey, well to me, since it flies so well as is, I decided not to modify it.

  • Yeah definitely... to do what I said there would be "non-trivial" and expensive too. Looks like it flies good already, and I agree - I prefer to leave things along when they are working fine.

  • i really enjoy watching your videos, nice job.

  • Thanks, but I dont understand your last comment.

  • oh,the one that i was rude, was for that guy talking about the music & camera.

    im sorry =]

  • hey thats a great tip with the ball link to stop flexing in the pushrods, yea im gonna try that.thanks nightflyer

  • Great. Glad it worked for you.

  • What's your opinion on the wheels? They look so flimsy and fragile.

  • Well if your a good lander, it is no problem. Jeffs is still hanging in there, however the nose gear is bent back from his crash, and he has left it that way, making it a low rider. LOL.

  • Dave have u seen that this plane comes with a 2.4 GHz TX/RX system now!!!! I can't believe it it actually comes with a 2.4 GHz system!!!! AWESOME!!!

  • Yes, that is great news.

  • wats funner to fly a helicopter or an airplane

  • Airplanes are easier, but helis are more strenuous and nervewracking. Both fun to me, and why I fly both.

  • GO EDF!!!

  • EDF all day man.

  • And u need to watch in high quality, and turn the music off. LOL.

  • wow. u need a new camera and scrape the irritating music.

  • be a man and stop complaining about everything. just dont watch if you dont líke it.GROW UP

  • Why do you make stupid and horrible comments like that, youngplainjuan!!? GO TAKE YOUR CRAP SOMEWHERE ELSE!

  • WOW! GREAT VIDEO

  • Thanks kindly.

  • Peanut gallery, lol.

  • mine crashed last week i was flying it over a ond and the stabalizers fell off and crashed

  • Bummer. I Never heard of the Stabs falling off.

  • well i dont like flying fast planes my first incstict is to land right when i get it flying i got my firebird commander 2 rc plane and crashed it my secend flight. have any tips for me i would really aprechiat it

  • Yes... dont fly so fast, and get someone to help teach you from the hobby shop.

  • Correct these planes look just as good flying slow. Actually they look better because you can see them.

  • Very true.

  • Wow what a nice guy! Glad jeff is happy! Nice flying too to jefF! great job!

  • Thats a really well done review. My buddy Greg has the same jet and we switched out the entire system and it now runs on a DX6i. What an improvement. Did Jeff remember to sand the paint off the areas where he was applying the epoxy? 5/5

  • Thanks kindly. Well Jeff's stabs did not fall off, like the PSPboy89's above did, so I guess he did. Nice to have it on the 6i, eh?

  • Oh you gotta love the 6i. I never had any complaints about it, even after it crashed my t-rex 450. Ok, the it being me and the crash being because I flew it out of my range of sight lol....

  • i love your music

  • Thanks...I made it myself.

  • :O blue angels is my fav jet!

  • Great.

  • Everyone likes a crash. Jokes, nice video guys. Jeff nice Flying.

  • Nice vid. But where was the crash?

  • Its in my latest F-18 video. Thanks.

  • Sweet. Nice job guys! Now I have to see the next chapter.

  • Thanks. It is up, so enjoy.

  • gibs eigentlich was ,was der nicht hat ??

  • GREAT JOB!! Thanks for sharing!!! ONE LOVE!!

  • Thanks kindly. I appreciate that.

  • Great reviews Dave keep up the good work and Great Flying.

  • Thanks kindly Greg. I appreciate that. Keep up your good modeling websites and work too. That trailer done yet?

  • that jet is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet that proubly cost u $999.

  • na!!...thats only about $250.00
