  • what kind of jig and artificial was that?

  • do u guys have any suggestions on how to cut a hole in 4-5 inch ice without an auger

  • spud

  • Ice chizel

  • u can use a spud. if you have a electric drill you can get a bit that will cut a hole. if money is your issue you can get eskemo 6" hand crank augers for around $30 this time of year when they go on sale. i got one from gander mt last year for $25.

  • that a shit lode of fish

  • exellent vid

  • Americans call em Blue gills

  • where r u fishing at

  • I was waiting for a big Pike to come in and snap your line.

  • nice, i get a lot of luck with white jigs with pink heads. but it's all about trying differen't things and playing around. in this case id say downsize your jig and if your using wax worms give try a mousy

  • lol i went ice fishing yesterday

  • well you need to jig the jig a lil till the fish comes in the hole and then when you see it you need to stop jiging it because sunnys and bluegils dont like when there bait is moving but if a croppy came in the hole u need to keep jiging it becuase they like movement

  • what kind of fish was it?I live in norway so i only fish trout.osv....

  • bluegill

  • hahah see here !

how to fish without a hook !

    /watch?v=zaqBChmYz6g

  • I think with a larve or waxie you would catch em faster. Also that is some of the clearest water ive seen.

PS i noticed your rod was broken.

  • unlucky

  • ok heres a tip for yall go into ten ta twelve foot of water with a grub and you will catch huge sunnys and bluegill and crapies

  • plunk goes the camera

  • what kind of lure was he using?

  • flu flu jig.

  • what lake was this at and is this a new post?

  • This is the best fishing ever... the water is so CLEAR!

  • what lure was tht? artifical worm on a jighead? Also, where were/ what time of the day were u fishing? normally, you shouldn't be able to see in the water tht well...

  • He is fishing in a shanty once the sun comes up your can usually see bottom unless it's not a clear lake you are fishing.

  • Best technique-Once you start jigging try different jigging rhythms until one works. Start with a 1-2 foot lift and fall rhythm. Then let the lure settle and remain still for about 20 seconds in between the lift/fall rhythm. Vary the speed and the length of the 'jig' rhythm to try to find one that works. Sometimes when nothing seems to work try 'thrumming'. This is the process of rapidly 'wiggling' the rod tip so that the lure quickly jigs up and down within a 1-3 inch vertical movement.

  • stop posting this everywhere

  • and we have like a river or something 2 km from us , i just hope that it frozes

  • im gonna so go and pike fishing and i live in Finland so :DDD

  • come on fishy fishy fishy im not gonna hurt ya...much

  • Amazing i agree whit SLade330

  • I miss fishing for those bluegills! they are such good eating.

  • that was good did not know what what going to happen next, just like fishing yourself

  • Thank you. I was hoping for that kind of effect of the viewer feeling like they were right there. Good fishing SLADE330.

  • @SLADE330 same! i felt like i was right there crouching down looking into the hole!

  • whats at your line at 1:25? look huge!

  • Probably a Bluegill. The water magnifies a little bit.

  • @elementskater3007 thats what she said

  • what has ur line at 3:37

  • A Bluegill.

  • how come u didt pull there was an eel down there it had ur line

  • Those are Bluegills below my hole. They are very good to eat, but i want only the bigger ones so i pull my fly away from the smaller ones.

  • looks good fun, cool vid. does the thickness or colour or the line affect the bites?

  • i love to fish but i've never ice fished before i would like to try it . it looks fun...................great video

  • It can be fun. I'm glad you liked my video.

  • i would love to go ice fishing it would be funn nice video

  • Thank you for the compliment. Ice fishing can be a lot of fun and it can be not at all fun. Like anything you have to put in your time. Sometimes you can go fishless. It's not always easy.

  • haha theyre just like sitting there teasing you!:(

    awesome video though!(Y)

  • I call this giggle fishing. It is very intertaining at times. I am glad you liked the video. Good fishing.

  • really great vid, goo job!!!

  • Thank you very much for the compliment. Thank you also for taking the time to comment. Good fishing.

  • that water was very clear nice vedio it was cool to watch

  • That water is spring feed and at times crystal clear. I love being able to see the fish.I am glad you enjoyed the video.

  • It is funny for a Norwegian to watch this! You have other species and therefore also other methods. It would be fun to try some European methods for some American species. At least we share the Northern Pike (Esox Lucius)

  • We are blessed in Wisconsin to have many species of fish. This can make for a very versitale fisherman.

  • I like fishing very much and it's nice to watch these fishing videos ;)

  • I'm glad you liked my video.

  • very aggressive fish :) nice view!

  • I am glad you like it. Thank you for taking the time to make a reply.

  • o that would suck if it fell lol

  • I happen to be an rabid fisherman and do most of my filming either on the water or in it. It always is a risk. It's worth it.

  • where did you put the camera

  • On a tripod right above the hole. Little bit tricky while fishing. Took a lot of patience and practice.

  • Good fishing Ice fishing looks good id like to try it is it cheap ??

  • It can be cheap and it can be very expensive.

  • nice view!

  • Thank you. It's kinda like your sitting right next to me saying set the hook!

  • nice angle dude, what kind of lure are you using?

  • This is a fly that i tie for this type of fishing.

  • Very Cool!

Send me your address. I will sponsor you with a Pen Rod Extreme Combo if you will do a video with my product!

    M.D.,CEO Penfishingrods,com

  • i will do it but first i have to figure out how to run my camera

  • Thank you for the offer,i am not interested at this time.

  • Hahah lol xD

  • why are you not taking them you shood have 2 extra fischis

  • The fish that i am pulling the fly out of there mouths are smaller than i want to keep to eat. That is what i like about fishing this way. I don't have to catch all the small ones.

  • Where are you fishing?

  • I am fishing in Wisconsin in a spring feed lake. The lake is very clear most of the time because it is spring feed. This is one reason i like to fish there. I can see the fish.

  • very awsome

  • Thank you i am glad you liked it. Tight lines.

  • That is awesome

  • Thank you for the very nice comment. Good fishing!

  • im from iowa and im a die hard ice fishermen gotta love those bluegills but y dont u like northerns

  • Fish have brains too.

  • realy cool im from Norway and ice fhis a lot coool:):):):)

  • Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • DICK

  • great video to watch. fun to learn about. Im glad that you didnt stop jerking the bait even when the panfish were around you will increase the amount of fish you get that way , cause even the slightest change in action will scare them away. great video tho! and how many did u get??

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I caught quite a few that day. But when the fishing got hot a Northern Pike would come and scare everything away. Then i would go to a different hole.LOL.

  • hi tommymetro. Had to sign up just so i could comment here. :) Love the video. I live in GB and have a cottage on the Menominee river. I fished the river above the dam just outside marinette/menominee a lot over the summer. Thinking about doing some ice fishing too. Do you go right in the weed beds, or fish more along the edges of the weeds? Do you fish for just panfish or do you fish for pike and walley too?

  • I am glad you loved the video. The Menominee River is one of my favorite places in the world to fish. I fish where the fish are. Learn as much as you can about the body of water you are fishing. Talk with people fishing and who are sucsessful. Stop down at the bait shop and ask them. Sometimes you get blown off. Other times you learn something priceless. You have to put in your dues. Stick with it as it can be very rewarding. Good Fishing.

  • k thanks

  • can a sunny swallow a minnow?

  • Yes! But the minnow must be very small. Smaller than a Crappie minnow. This bait i am using imitaties minnows or nymphs.

  • thx alot!

  • Thanks I will check with the bait shop. Ideally i would like to catch largemouth and yellow perch but if panfish are easier then i will gladly target them instead. Are there any "guaranteed" baits or baits that are always effective for panfish? Where can i find panfish this time of year?

  • Once again the baitshop will help out. There is no guarantdd bait. Time spent fishing, talking and fishing with those that have been there and done it is the best way to sucsess.

  • i'm just starting ice fishing. I want to catch fish no matter what the species is. can you help me? i know little about where to find the fish like what depth and what bait to use. i dont have any of that expensive equipment.

  • I would start at my local bait shop. Ask what is biting and what the are biting on and what you will need to catch the fish. If you are starting out it can be a little intimidating on the amount of stuff you will be told you need. I have aquired my equipment over a period of many years. Stick with what you absolutly have to have at first the add as you go. Enjoy the great outdoors.

  • i will be fishing the longmeadow cove in mass. the cove has little structure and is at max 7 feet. i dont know what the bottom looks like because i have never sonared it. what should i look for and where should i start? i want to catch fish this coming Saturday. Thanks for the help.

  • what is the best live bait for sunnies and crappies

  • The bait you would use that would work best is determined by the type of fish you want to catch. The best way to find this ou is at the bait shop or your local experts whom you will find on or near the water. I use flies almost exclusively. They are very effective and allow me to be creative by design and presentation.

  • Tommy, that looks like some of the leach flies I tie. What size hook is that? Looks like a long shank 8-10?

  • I would bet your leach fly would work. It is hard to see the actual size of the fly in the video. I think it is a size 14 or 12. The main thing for sucsess is presentaion, size and then color. Use a jam knot like a clinch knot then pull your line so the fly hangs horizontal not vertical. Good fishing.

  • very good video. i like to fish, lol. someday i want to go ice fishing. looks fun.

  • how deep is the water?

  • I am fishing in about 3 feet of water. If the water gets to deep or to dirty i can't see the fish and that takes away the fun of seeing them take the fly. But i can add a small shot and blind fish by watching the colored sten for any movement.

  • so kewl

  • Good video.

  • Thank you very much. Good fishing.

  • What kind of line is that? and the other question is. What type of jig/bait is that?

  • I am using clear monofiliment sewing thread, which is tied to the fly then tied to 4lb. yellow stren. I have around 2 to 3 feet of clear sewing thread. I am using a fly that i minimized for this type of fishing.

  • i like it, good camera angle.

  • Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I wanted my viewers to see what i see when i am ice fishing.

  • Gread Vid, What Lake is this on

  • Thanks for the compliment, i am glad you liked it.This is a Spring lake in Wisconsin. It is formed by damming a Trout stream. That is why it is so clear.

  • where is this

  • This is a lake in Wisconsin. This lake is clear because it is formed by a coldwater steam that has a dam on it forming the lake. Usually lakes like this are not to deep and are clearer most of the time. Good fishing.
