My "good" old TLM103 has lasted in 13 years now. But 6 years ago it began making white noise and went unstable in the input-level. At that time the local dealer advised me to change the diaphragm. A rather expensive affair. Now the problem seems to come again. Some says it is moisture! Any suggestions?
hi. im looking for a mic that would give a violin a nice rich warm sound but yet good detail, ive been told km184, also thinking about tlm193, and wondering about km131, would this would give the result im looking for?
@sinnexz If money isn't and issue, perhaps try a ribbon mic like a blue woodpecker or the KSM ribbon mic that shure make (not sure of the exact name) You'll get a much more organic and natural sound compared to a condenser
thanks for the intro, I have been looking at one of these in a case for a while but wonder if you are paying just for the name at this point. There are some serious new contenders out there now. BUt it does make a statement.
@ubetcha13 I use this mic at my studio, I also have the Sony c800 and I like this one more than the sony! This has a really nice sound. It has presense before e.q. really nice!
tlm 103 is a good mic but the HF content can be harsh when you add eq to it

does it come with a shockmount, or do you have to pay $260 for the shockmount separately?
