  • The college I attend called Kapiolani Community College is located just behind that crater that they just passed. The View from the Cafeteria is amazing you can see the beaches out on the distance. has to be one of the nicest campuses around

  • No better view in all the world than landing this route into Honolulu. Sadly, the same view flying out can be heartbreaking to those of us who were born there or have lived there. Beautiful camera work. Mahalo for posting!

  • It's actually a "-300" not a "-3", someone from Boeing cleared that up for me when I was in Seattle last year. Nice vid though, love CF6's. I'm goin there in a few weeks from Houston

  • where did you take off

  • i will never forget the view of nonolulu from window seat when on U A flight 935 in june 2010

  • music to my ears.

  • some dirty ass windows lol

  • Do you hide your camera? I was recording with my iphone and got caught -.- by a funny flight attendant

  • HAD THE POWER SET JUST RIGHT... SMOOTH AS SILK...

  • i can see my house :D!!

  • Awesome to see this approach from a plane. The few years I lived in Honolulu, I

never got to make this approach, but I certainly enjoyed my plane-watching days

on the beach (San Souci right near Diamond Head) and Ala Moana Beach Park

closer to downtown) when the wind brought the planes into HNL along this route. Very cool!

  • This is interesting because EVERYTIME I"ve flown into Honolulu (from Seattle) we've circled around and landed from the other direction. And this looks like you landed on the same runway we take off from when leaving always.

  • wat seat is this?

  • very nice video mate!

  • I love flying with American Airlines they are the cheapest airline then United.

  • lol the skyscrapers down there looks like theres only 10 floor but their actually higher than 40 floors.

  • what runway did you land at

  • comme si nous étions assis près du hublot

  • Excellent video. Nice steady picture and good sound. Well done!

  • dude this looks like as if it were the 90's

  • this video brings back so many memories... when i lived in Hawaii

  • @REX719 Aloha,You are not the only one Brother,I lived in Waipahu and Ewa Beach back in 67 to 70 and I was 15 years old back then,My father served in the Navay and sationed at Barbers Point and He retired at Kunia,It was Heartbreaking to Leave that beautiful place.I"ll never forget living there.Mahalo to you my Freind.Rick Gastiger

  • wow a good video and so a soft touch down!!!

  • LOL . The plane looked like it "dropped" down

  • HANA HOU!!!

  • A "reef" runway landing during Kona winds is not too common and has a "dog leg" approach but offers the best view of Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. Cool video, well done.

  • Hey! Mex me feel am on Holiday!

  • NIcely done. I enjoyed this very much. Thank you.

  • Smooth - excellent sound quality... It's one of those videos that you rate highly and add to your favorites all within the first 5 seconds of playback. Thanks!

  • this plane is old...american has one of the oldest planes in the industry....im thinking this plane was made between 1986-1990

  • Whats going on at 2:36 or so?

  • @ilikejigsawpuzzles Speed Brakes/Spoilers to kill the lift. And reverse thrust to slow the plane down.

  • @ilikejigsawpuzzles u mean the touchdown, spoilers extracting and the reverse thrust deploying????

  • Very nice view

    Your video is SUPER

  • nice landing

  • looks an 777 with smaller engines and wings.

  • Great video! Nice landing, nice floatation on the flare!

    Check out my videos!

  • Very Nice video~ :-)

  • super !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 stars vídeo!

    767 extraordinary plane!

  • great video

  • cool video!

  • A good sun angle helps.....thanks !

  • damn mate I'm always asking my self : how can they record a video in the airplane like that (no shaking , great sounds , full colors & perfect contrast )

simply....you've got all my stars :)

  • Nope Boeing 767-300

  • awesome video, the liftin forces on those wings is tremendous, seems strange how they are designed to flex as much as they do

  • wow i never see this approach its always the runway 8 approach i belive

  • I thought you couldn't have any electronics on before landing / take off. I just got back from a vacation in the D.R. on a 767 as welll.

  • late touchdown

  • I agree....but very soft contact

  • This place stalks me...don't ask.

  • wow nice landing, the last time i landed at hnl in 767 it was a real roller coaster ride. the kids on flight seems to enjoy it though.

  • Very nice landing. I can never land a 767 like that in flight sim...

  • Neither can I. In FSX, I have so much trouble landing the 767. I can land it on the runway, but I always flare to early and move around too much.

  • Wow! i dont know why some airlines use big airplane if an a 319 can do lax-hnl or even mex-hnl

  • Because its such a long flight that it would be too cramped and uncomfortable to fly for that long in such a small plane. Also it could be a very busy route

  • It is a really popular route so they use big aircraft.

  • Stupid bitch screaming in the video

    Perfect landing

  • its that fligh 123

  • I think this is called the Ala Moana Approach onto the

Reef Runway from the East. I remember this approach very well when I last flew into Honolulu!

  • yeah i think it was called that because when i flew there they told us what it was called.

  • It's technical name is the LDA/DME Runway 26L Approach.

  • ...except the plane went out towards Barber's Point and circled to approach the airport from the west.

  • This is the approach and view I remember from summer 1985.

  • AA rules

  • Excellent landing.... perfect in every way...

  • Very nice !!! smooth landing !

  • nice and smooth with idle reverse and minimum braking

  • That's probably the nicest video of a plane's landing approach I've seen out here. A former sales position allowed me to go to Hawaii many times over a ten year period - this brings back many happy memories! Thanks!

  • just beautiful

  • A very soft landing! 5*

  • from where

  • swedish people on plane:D<3

  • beautiful landing...musta been Kent W at the helm

  • Great video!

  • 22/26 operations due to kona winds. only happens like 3 days out of the year.

  • it varies due to current weather conditions.

  • I've never seen a HNL landing from that direction before.

  • it is a Kona wind approach into HNL means that the wind is coming from the south.

  • i love it.

  • good stuff, i love american

  • nice kiss landing !

AA pilots are the best ;-)

  • yea i love it how AA pilots fake take off.. i mean its one thing to give the engines thrust to taxi and another to give it almost full throttle on the runway. ive been on numerous AA flights were pilots will make ppl think they are tkaing off but only to find out they are just taxing. AA pilots love making their engines whine. =)

  • I love AA pilots ... especially one, who is the best of the best ;-)

  • that happens to me on united all the time, especially the 777's.

  • not really on united for me, but the 777s prob yeah, because those engines are powerful even when they are on low power

  • Revving them to hear them purr.... =D

  • hehehe I love it!

  • that looks like a really smooth landing isn't it?

  • good footage..only wish the view did not have so much of the engine blocking the scenery ..anyway . thanks for sharing
