  • Hi, i do custom leatherwork to fit the body. You would have to be available for fittings for such a request to be filled.(if you planned to wear it) I could certainly make up a suit for display and the cost on that would be around $ 3000.00 in Canadian funds.

Thank you for your interest .

  • @getcrafty hi, i was wondering, do you only do leather work? if you do other things could i order something like this one on ebay (look up- Legend Seeker Darken Rahl Coat Vest Costume) <--- sorry but it wont let me put a link :(

but the oneon ebay is not close enough to the original. i want a more original looking one. and how much would that cost? Thanks.

  • @getcrafty I do leather work too the armor i make is able to be used and is very thick and able to repel sword and it sells for about $600 US For a full suit no helm included

  • would you have any idea how much it would cost to have full body hard leather armor made? just basic probobly 11-15 oz cowhide.

    no designs either lol.

  • wow nice shape

  • I like this.

  • looks similar to greek lamellar armour

  • I'm not even sure what greek lamellar armour is but will look it up later. As I am a costume builder and not an armour maker this was a one time project to spoof the wizzard of OZ tinman. It was used in Stargate1 200th episode. My speciality is leather work and I totally enjoyed designing this costume. Thanks for the look.

  • im working on making some armour... urs is sweet... mine wil be some hardened leather, then a sheet of 16 guage metal, then another thing of hardened layer, but this time it wont cover the entire thing just a few areas, kinda for looks, and to help protect more important spots, like my neck and stuff...

  • Thanks and good luck on your project. Will you send me a picture when it's done?. Have you worked with leather in the past?

  • this will be my first large project with leather... im usually pretty good with stuff like this, and ill practice a little first... itll prolly take me forever cuz it not my top priority but yea if i finish ill send you some pics...

  • @toasterhead91

    Its called 'Splint Mail'.

  • I could when I get back from traveling at end summer.

  • can you do a tutorial on how you made it?

  • could have chosen to paint it in some other colour man......it's a leather armour , not a steel one...

  • Hi, thanks for the look at my art. It is actually a part from the tinman costume I built for the 200th episode of Stargate (SG1) worn by the character Teal'c. Sorry for no full pic of him in it but I have no permission to post his picture.

  • looks great

  • great job

  • thank you

  • I'm new to this (and my english is not good), but still I would like to know how do you get such a thick leather? Is there any way to "glue" them, to make them more thick?

  • Hi, this costume is molded from vegtan cowhide 6-7 oz. It is first cut from a flat pattern, seams skived glued and riveted. It is wet and molded over manequin parts and dried by heat gun or air dried. the last process is paint.

    thank you.

  • How do you make the leather fit the underlying shape so closely?

  • first comment yay!
