  • why does she have an afro? i always wondered why the european women dressed in outfits that made there butts bigger and hips bigger. then i came across information and realized they were trying to get the curves of a black woman or latina woman (one in the same). i look today and white women are doing it till this day. with butt implatns, breast implants, lip injections etc. now all i can do is laugh when i see these "queens"

  • Queen Marie Antoinette was I believe very brave, devout & sincere. She was also beautiful, like Jane seymour who portrays her.She was a heroine.

  • marie antoinette was really a good person, she had flaws like us all but was not like we hear somtimes

  • Poor Lamballe...God rest her soul

  • S'il vous plait quel est le nom de ce film ? merçi ^^

  • does anyone know if this version incorporated the "so called affair" between Marie Antoinette and that other guy, into the story?

  • @kieghacat

it is somehow trying to suggest but, you don´s see much, it is more on your imagination to think about them...not like Coppola version, where she put them as a lovers.

  • ok that's good. because that's one thing I thought ruined the new version, as it depicts her as scandalous when actually she was a very devout Catholic, and also it's something that's never been proven, if any thing it's been proven to be false.

  • Jason what's his name made a much cuter King Louis XVI :)

  • What it's the name of the movie? (and the year)

  • @NGDTHII

    "Revolution Française"

It was made in commemoration of the French Revolution's bicentennial. So you can figure out the date of the movie from that. =)

  • @tinofilipino thank you!

  • I like Marie Antoinette..she was kinda hearted and would have never spent all of that money if she knew how much the people of France were suffering, but she didn't. But it's not fair to say the peasants were being punished by God. God is not cruel and the poverty was not His doing.

  • its really hard to get this movie

  • More than 60,000 French died in the terror resulting from the Revolution. Millions died in the aftermath, including the Napoleonic wars.

The revolution was the most destructive calamity in human history. The makers of the revolution wanted to topple the ideas of tradition, religion, and the past. Such ideals brought out a wave of terror and devastation.

Change should only be brought through reform, a concept which was ignored. This is why the world is so messed up.

  • Louis XV was the great guilty of the French revolution

  • can i buy this in america with subtitels? both parts?

  • is this he 2009 series also called "Ce jour-là, tout a changé : l'évasion de Louis XVI ???

  • Wait so what movie is this from?

  • Just from this, it looks very accurate compared to Coppola's

    ;)

    Ála

  • I dont get France they killed one king in exchange for another

  • LOL a King that liberated the jew from all the european ghettos, legalized divorce, insured freedom of religions and equality toward the law... is still better than an absolute king!! See the differnce ????

  • They killed a politically moderate and intelligent king in exchange for a reign of terror and a radical megalomaniac dictator. Makes perfect sense, don't you see?

  • I agree...

  • after killing the king the royal prince, wounded the queen and second prince, in portugal in 1910 they also changed a constitutional king for many decades of dictatorship... i dont understand... well i do... it was so easy to manipulate people without any school education...

  • @tinofilipino

intelligent king? if he had been intelligent, he would have saved the monarhcy. instead, he tried to escape. very intelligent indeed!

was sending troops to america even though france had no money intelligent too?

  • @Jeanne189 It was the polices of Louis XV that led to the revolution. Louis XVI had good intentions, he just lacked political strength.

If you want to blame someone for the abolition of the Monarchy, blame the radicals.

  • @TriompheAmour

oh, i don't blame the radicals. i'm thankful for what they did :)

  • @tinofilipino

    i couldn't agree with you more !

  • She died a sad way!

  • Jane Seymour is stunning

  • Oeh, I need to see this movi! x']

  • It was reallllllly good, but like Marie Antoinette wasn't in as much of it as I thought she would have been, but Jane Seymour was like the best Marie Antoinette ever lol anyway goodnight and muah! lol

  • Where can I find this movie? It's difficuld to find it.

  • it is really difficult to find, omgod lol like i tried for months to find it, and i did found it off a wesite like ebay, so if u know any like bartering websites u could try it there, they must have it.

  • WHEN WAS THIS MOVIE MADE

  • I think 1989 lol! Muah!

  • i need the name of these version of marie antoinette because i am dieing to watch it

  • dcly1025 has a point... i kinda don't remember it.

  • At 4:10 and 4:11 I did not see that scene in the movie. I don't remember them showing Lamballe's fate, tehy only saw her head didn't they?

  • princess de lamballe was gangraped and then they cut her breast off. then they beheaded her.

  • he could be king louis twin

  • I want to see this movie so badly i am like a Marie Antoinette fantic lol! This is such a great video CHCANY you did good lol! h! i love it

  • Dang... I wanna see that movie. O_o

  • was De Lamballe really raped & beheaded? I read that that it was just a rumor. She was stabbed to death but was not raped or beheaded...

  • No it's the truth Lamballe has been raped and beheaded, and as we can see in the video they have shown her head to Marie-Antoinette ! How can people be so cruel !

  • Watch her face and behaviour at:3:57...she is being taken away from Marie Antoinette))

  • I read that she was beheaded & mutilated yes. But was the rape happened after she was dead or not? The record was contradictory here. She was killed, raped, mutilated or raped, killed, mutilated. There were two versions...

  • It was raped before she was killed, they gang raped her.

  • or -and we can only pray that it did not happened she was,raped,mutilated,killed...

  • The poor thing was also mutilated and her corpse was in the possesion of the revolutionaries for days.

  • yes its true, that happened during the septembre massacre 1792, and many catholic priests died too , specially in "le Convent du Carmes".

  • To vsovereign: At the end of her "short" trial, the judge said: "Élargissez Madame", speaking about Mme de Lamballe. Élargissez officially meant: Set her free. So, the soldiers brought her in a courtryard, and she really thought she would be liberated. But as soon as she entered the courtyard, she saw people killed by other people. For what happened then, no serious Historian could say if her death had been planned. What is certain is that she got terrorised. She screamed, she tried to move

  • To vsovereign : she tried to protect herself from the crowd which, for the moment, was not attempting to her life ; but as a result, people got excited against her, someone wounded her at her forehead... Was the sight of the blood which made the crowd turn to madness ? But shortly after, some people ran after her, caught her, other people joined the first and then put her body to pieeces. I mean : really to pieces, with their hands, theirs knifes, whatever they had. And then, shortly after

  • To sovereign (please, read 3,2,1 and not 1,2,3 otherwise you won't understand a word lol): They beheaded her. She was already dead at this moment. She has never been raped. To my opinion, it would have been better for her to be beheaded with guillotine than dying torn to pieces.

Then the crowd brought her head to a hairdresser and asked him to "prepare" the head, so as to bring it to the windows of Marie-Antoinette's jail.

  • That angry mob are in hell for what they did to Lamballe and Marie Antoinette, what a cruel group of people...

  • Try starving and being freezing cold while watching the monarchy you live under indulge themselves like stuffed pigs.. you'll think differently

  • Yes, that is the cruel fact that they didnt take care of the people as needed from a king and queen. However being a history teacher I have to say even so,killing her head on a spike and the way they were treated was a little too harsh. They didn't want to be controlled but they were still wrong in what they did nevertheless....

  • teacherbl22

I disagree because more perished in the general population than in the elite; before, during, and after The Revolution. As you know, corrupt governments since the beginning of civilization have ignored and cheated their own ppl. Let The French Revolution (and those like it) stand as testament that pissing on one's own population HAS ITS CONSEQUENCES.. and it ain't pretty

btw an afternoon's beheading is arguably more humane than prolonged starvation

  • Yes, but you see that is ex actually the point governments, that word says it all!!! The French revolution killed many by the guillotine and they were ALWAYS harsh in my opinion when it came to killing in that time period. I believe there was certain details and other history facts that back up some of marie Antoinette dealing in her life. However, what they still did to her friend isn't humane its insane and sick!!!

  • yes-those monsters were sick-thy should never be called people...humans...French revolution was the most brutal, horrible and stupid thing in whole history of the planet

  • @CHCANY

"So called" French Revolution, this is the most anti-French thing ever, planned and executed and paid for by inner and foreign ennemies of the country.

Manipulation of masses is a terrible thing. Monsters will answer of it. They didn't only cause the murder of the King and the Queen, not only random killings and terror, they maimed the very soul of our nation.

There is always suffering in the world. A Revolution is never the answer. It's a worsening. Horror.

  • @HarmAllShip THANK you. at least someone has some sense.

  • @teacherbl22

what did they do to her friend?

  • rather ten thousand people to die from hunger-than one person of royal family to be executed!!!)

  • "rather ten thousand people to die from hunger-than one person of royal family to be executed!!!"

    >That is the stupidest comment I've ever seen on youtube and I've seen some doozies

  • if true is stupid than is is indeed the stupidest remark)

  • ...I sorta agree with the comment "rather ten thousand people to die from hunger-than one person of royal family to be executed!!!"...

  • As long as that starving person ain't you right? fucking morons

  • @MichiganWinters 17,000 people died during the first day of the revolution and all by execution, I just thought you should know that

  • i dont agree...

  • God is not punnishing people without reason!)Well he did there with starvation and cruel winter!)

  • exactly-God shall punish those who murders innocent people...

  • wasn't that robespierre who was reading at the beginning?

  • at 1:42 - 2:02 THAT LITTLE BOY WAS SO CUTE

  • I think this is the better version of Marie Antoinette than the movie with Kirsten Dunst.

  • and she is so pretty!

  • very good movie, this pussy is so sweet

  • she was the only one whom reminded me of marie antointette

  • That's what I call ''a film'',not that crap Sophia Coppola did !

  • What Sophia did was a stylized interpretation, not a literal depiction. You should have been able to gather that from advertisements.

  • gotta see the whole movie :0

  • Absoutely THE BEST ! Merci Beaucoup !!

  • Oh yes it would be vey cool to see the whole movie? *_* At leat the first part. Cause i have the second too, where my darling Louis dies...T_T (in german of course)Thanks you^^
