  • im 18, 191cm/87kg and im taking creatine as a support for working out, i take the Cell Mass by BSN twice a day and i work out 4 times a week.. is there any chance i could be harmed by taking it? (i also take Syntha-6 protein 2x daily)

  • @cosmicisland Didn't u just watch this video??????

  • Does creatine effect hair loss?

  • wow i wish if i had seen ur videos few years back..so i would not have wasted time doing wrong things..very helpful videos will :)

  • Im tired of people telling me "I heard from a friend that creatine is bad..." its so annoying, i just say hey are you gonna believe a friend of a friend of a friend, or a reliable internet article?

  • is this guy rob halford of jadas priest???

  • Yes

  • @willbrink Can YOU PLEASE tell me ! can i take creatine if im under 18, willbrink please please please answer this!

  • @NathanXPablo Yeah you'll be fine, just drink LOTS of water, no matter what your age, try to stay away from caffenine

  • Hey willbrink, My main goal is to lose fat right now and I’ve read online that when using creatine, it supposedly helps fat loss by useing fat as energy to sustaine the larger muscles. Do you know if there is any truth to this?

  • @willbrink I know you make a video for teens and creatine, but could creatine mess with growth spurts or the chemical balance of the hormones in a teenagers body, I know it will make raise creatine level which could alarm some due to they would think that you have a gland disorder or have been eating lots of creatine ladden foods, could it throw off the balance so much to mess up your growth and or function

  • What about the connection of creatine monohydrate and compartment syndrome/?

  • Three of my friends who were taking creatine had Jaundice. I was wondering what was common in their diet and coincidentally i found that they were taking creatine ang gyming. But still i wanna confirm this... ( I am a student )

  • Hey, great video thanks for the information. Would you recommend using creatine to a young person who has only been attending a gym for a short period of time? I do not wish to be a giant but I would like to go from relatively skinny to nicely toned and muscular. Thanks for your time.

  • Apparently the whey powder I have has creatine in it, which I didn't know much about and brought me to this video. I can't however find the concentration. I am not interested in getting any of the effects of creatine, but mainly water retention. Can I combat the water retention by just drinking a LOT?

  • most people who have any problems with it usually just over dose and of course then your liver is going to take a kickin or they have liver problems before hand anyways

i say everything in moderation is the key simples :P

  • what about high blood pressure..my dr said creatine could cause hbp..true?

  • Thx man!...

When I'm taking creatine the only thing that bothers me is that I piss like crazy.

  • great vid! very helpful, but is there any difference with taking creatin as a tablet form, then as a powder form? or does it not matter which way you intake creatien? cheers mate :)

  • The only side effect I know is sometimes flatulences.

  • I'm not sure what it was for me but when I used creatine the first time a month later I got such stomach pain that I wanted to shoot my self! It was the worst pain I ever felt in my life. Might have been that I didn't drink enough water. Might have taken more than 5g a day or it might have been the whey protein I used. I'm not sure. I now use creatine without any side effects what so ever. I don't know what wrong I did the first time.

  • @HaasGrotesk Were you dissolving it properly in warm water? If your swallowing un-dissolved creatine that may cause stomach cramps as your body draws excess water into the digestive tract to break down the creatine.

  • Doesn't He Sound Like Alan From Hangover lol...but good facts

  • @screenflicker1

You would have to go look them up yourself and decide, there's been too many to make over generalized statements. I cover a number of studies, with cites, in my free creatine review found on the BrinkZone under "free stuff" if interested.

  • Hello Will, thanks for all your awesome videos. Dr. Mirkins, one of the contributors to quackwatch, warns users of creatine due to the lack of long term studies and the also the question on the amount to take is still unanswered as he claims there are no studies on that. Can you comment on this? Here is the link

  • @screenflicker1

There are many drugs released and FDA approved with no where near 25 years of safety/tox data. Not even close. Creatine is now at 300+ studies (far more then many drugs again) has been used clinically at very high doses for decades for treatements with diseases like MS, there are several studies looking 5 year + retrospective showing no issues, millions of users at this point, and dozens of studies showing all manner of potential health benefits. It's as safe as safe gets.

  • @willbrink possible creatine can help with fibromyalgia? and my lupus. I respond better to alternative medicine then pharmacueticals.

  • Hi Will!

Thanks for the info. What your take on new creatine study on creatine 2009 which indicates it raises DHT. I mean DHT is dangerous right?? i.e. baldness and prostate cancer etc

  • thanks a lot man! you really know your stuff

  • I'm a B.Sc. RN. From what I know, the only side effects would be dehydration, if exposed to other risk factors such as old age, extreme heat, concomitant administration of diuretics (in a HF patient, for ex.). It could also give a false positive when screening for renal sufferance (as creatinine would raise). Other than that, multiple studies have shown how safe it is. Look it up on pubmed!

  • @thorington

Several studies exist and creatine does not negatively impact hydration and actually improved thermo regulation. Creatine/hydration connection is mythology not science....

  • creatine gave me a rash on my legs. stopped taking it, and started taking it again, same reults. not for me. i was taking "cheap supplements" creatine mono-hydrate, 5g once daily. since the second time it happend i was also taking a multi going to try it once more when im done with my current multi supply.

  • Hi I am 16 years oldI really want creatin, but my parents won't let me because they think it is dangerous, I have tried it before without them knowing and it worked great but then they busted me using it and they said if I use it one more time they won't let me work out. What should say to them to let me use it?

  • @noilet Just tell them thats not a drug... its a suplement.... the body produces it... that is just a "boost".... and show them in the internet etc etc...

  • I heard a stupid rumor that creatine enlarges the heart

  • @Huhdeko hey I know im not willbrink but as a long time user of creatine ill tell you that using creatine will aid you greatly in your quest to build muscle and lose weight. I recommend sizeon pre-contest since your trying to lean up

  • Hey great video. I am a 16 year old about 6ft. 200-210 pounds. I am prety chubby, and I have been working out everyday for about a month taking Syntha-6 protein, because that is all I have. I don't want to loose weight, I want to stay about the same, but make my fat into muscle. Will creating help aid in loosing weight and gaining muscle if I workout everyday for 1hr 30 mins or will it just make me fatter but stronger? Thanks for your time :D

  • @huhdeko creatine wont burn fat but will help you get stronger. changing your diet and low intesity exercies looses fat

  • Yo guys r u supposed to take creatine everyday? I work out 3 times a week and I only take it 3 times a week.

  • @iSaviano you work out 3 times a week, which is like 3% of the time, the rest 97% of the time your body recovers and grows which creatine is needed for. So you should take it everyday.

  • @8Julius8 creatine not protein you fool... it gives you energy. its not protein.....

  • some ppl. take 20-30gram and they drink caffeine ,that's dangerous. i believe any dose which significantly increases creatinine in urine is danger for kidneys. no more than 5g a day and no loading i'd say...

  • The only true effect is if u drink to much creatine basically ure muscles r going to b water resistance meaning their not going to b ripped their going to b swollen thats it you have take creatine but protein shakes as well eat healthy...

  • I heard if you use too much creatine blend like 50 grams a day,365 days aweek, for 3 years you might get kidney stones. But like he said theres no scientific facts. so drink up but, not too much better safe than sorry.

  • nice coffee mug haha

  • what can creatine do to a 14 year old

  • @365KillaKing make you massive instantly.

  • @365KillaKing it makes your penis smaller

  • @bbhbees50 replenishing ur muscles. dont say stupid shit cuz people like me will shut u the fuck up because u heard someone in the world say "oh yea, that does this" and spread false shit.

  • Dude, the way that the medical establishment establishs kidney malfunction is by measuring creatine levels in the blood. I can only assume that people on dialisis are because of high creatine levels and the kidneys inability to eliminate it from the blood stream. This dude is about his money and if your mind is abandoned enough to except this poppie cock you deserve what you get. Eat right, get enough rest and exersice; sissy

  • @comptonjuan

"dude" creatinine is the measure, not creatine. Best to not run mouth/give advice on such topics if you don't know creatine from creatinine. If people want the actual studies regarding creatine, uses, side effects, HEALTH BENEFITS, my creatine report is a free down load: Creatine-Report dot you know what.

  • @willbrink lol u owned him:)

  • @willbrink Thank you for straightening this idiot up!

  • cool

  • Hey, I just wanted to thank you for the great videos! I'm pretty huge... 265 lbs, 6'5, pretty chubby :/. I started working out 5 or 6 days a week, and started using creatine chewable tablets. (2 x 2.5g a day). Is that does enough for me? And will it assist in the loss of fat and turning it into muscle if i continue weight lifting daily and drink 4-5L of water a day?

  • Found some info from DR Mercola that had positive results with creatine for brain injury and muscle damage.

  • is it true you need massive amounts of water if your taking creatine?

  • @51iohC you do tend to be a bit thirstier, and end up taking on more body water, but it has been exaggerated.

  • Is it true that if you stop using creatine all the muscle you have built up will quickly turn to fat

  • @Menlough1

    Nope...

  • I've been bulking for a while and making good gains, and am 50 - 50 about taking creatine or not. The benefits outweight the negavtives mostly, except i dont plan to take it forever and dont wanna lose muscle when i stop. Also can be kinda pricey. Any help here?

  • @JmCraddock

Consult your doctor before taking it. If your healthy and don't have a history of kidney/liver problems you should be fine. I've taken it and had great gains from it, no side effects whatsoever. You shouldn't lose all your strength gains, or a lot of weight. I just ended one cycle and maybe lost 2-3 lbs at most. Made a gain of about 12, so it's really not alot. You don't need to necessarily buy the most advertised priciest brand, I've fared well with Body Fortress, cost me 17$.

  • @JmCraddock

See other vids, read free articles on my site on creatine, decide for yourself.

  • @JmCraddock

my advice to you would be to ask yourself what is your goal with fitness? are you just an average person who exercises because you want to live a healthy life? in that case why would you want to pour this shit into your body? what purpose are you trying to accomplish by taking a supplement that your body just doesn't need? work out, lift weights, do cardio, EAT A HEALTHY BALANCED DIET, nature will take care of the rest

  • @jumar1281

    Oh brother....

  • how long do you use creatine ethy elester for and what happens if you stop

  • @eofregene

You don't use it, it's worthless. See article "Creatine Graveyard" on the BrinkZone for more info and other vids on this YT page for more info.

  • Haha I thought there was a plane flying over my house at 4:08. Good video though

  • all you gotta do is drink alot of liquids with it and youll be fine ive been taking creatine for many years off and on when i work out, now for me personally the ony side effect is it does make me a little bit more aggresive not like steroids or anything but its really the best natural muscle builder outthere just drink lots of water or some kind of juice except for orange and youll be allright

  • What about creatine ester malate as opposed to monohydrate?thanks

  • creatine shitz.

  • Your right creatine does not cause kidney problems - most of the 'evidence' is anecdotal. However creatine does draw water into your muscles and can lead to dehyration. And dehydration can contribute to kidney issues. But drink water and you will be fine.

  • @andrewkkl

Again, not correct. See my other vids, like cramping etc. Several studies found not only does creatine not cause dehydration, it actually improve thermo reguation, making is LESS likely dehydration, cramping, etc will take place. Best not to theorize on physiology of CM if you have not read all the data.

  • good shit

  • if you google creatine and rhabdomyolysis, you will see that there are links there. Recently 13 university of Iowa football players were diagnosed with rahbdomyolysis after taking creatine

  • @gledalac1979

Some reports of football players does not trump the various published studies showing creatine does not cause cramping, dehydration, rhabdo, etc. Stick to the actual data vs media that is biased, anti supplement, and making cause and effect by association statements.

On inspection, these stories always find another variable that was the cause. Remember the wrestlers some years back? It's like that...

  • just dont over do it no more than 10 grams a day for me why? you waste your money

  • Ive used creatine for a week and raised my bench max by 10 pounds.

  • what do you think about taking creatine under age 18?

  • @23throwitup I allow clients 16+ to use creatine.

  • @23throwitup

Wont do you/them any harm, but not needed. Learn proper training, nutrition, etc first.

  • one qestion, can creatine shrink my penis?

i used creatine before and i think it shrinked a litlle bit, maybe i am wrong

    thank you

  • @petarstankovic91 same to me .....same to me

  • @petarstankovic91

no. creatine is naturaly occuring in meats like tuna and red meat. maybe your just unlucky? most likely excercise cause blood to divert from your bollocks (im english get over it lol) and to your muscles since you are excercising them.. im just guessing :P

  • @petarstankovic91

    Oh stop...

  • your creatine videos are very helpful!

  • @Daviso69

    Thanx,

  • hello willbrink i have a question, what happens after you stop using creatine, becouse i heard alot of people saying that once you stop using creatine you loose your muscle. and another question i have is, is creatine is suitable for athletes becouse i play basketball and i dont want it to affect my game in a bad way, plz answer this question

  • @gggman15

If you stop brushing your teeth, you get cavities. Stop working out, lose strength, etc. Should not stop you from starting however. Yes, some gains made would be lost, but not all. That's how life/biology generally works.

  • I heard about the 12 Iowa football athletes that were hospitalized for Exertional Rhabdomyolysis, any idea if taking creatine would affect the chances of getting that? it looks like I've found 1 more thing to worry about when working out

  • @AdverbAdjective those medical issues are very rare and only came from what was probably poor planning of workouts and a huge workload. You have nothing to worry about.

  • i started using creatine 3 weeks ago and in that short ammount of time i notaced a massive difference its realey good stuff, however iv just stopped using it because its been reaey dehydrating me

  • @leb900 your 16 and weight 250lb?

  • hey message back to me... on this questions.. there is a guy that wants me to take creatine.. to get strong and stuff.. and i want to take it but the thing about it i dont want any harm done to my body while taking it.. so does it affect ur body in which way..

  • can someone help me......is creatine good to use because i wanna use it so i can bulk up for football plzzz help me out

  • Nice vid. So do you think it's a good Idea for me to take creatine I'm a 16 and weight 250

  • @eagle5264 dont worry the dosage isnt that much in a mass product (max 5 grams but they wont put that much) , your body produces creatine too thats why you have to take breaks in using , i wouldnt recomand training hard at your age , but you can train with low weights and use a protein product .dont use it again until you are 18 and youll be ok .

  • haha nither caffine or creatine are a hormone. caffine is a drug and creatine is a nutrient

  • @jackmaggotdude

There's no sunshine without caffeine!!! :-)

  • Creatine swells muscle cells by retaining water for a "full" effect/look. However, beware. It DOES effect mood including aggression, anger and depression. Been there, done that. Don't let anyone tell you different, especially someone like this guy who is SELLING creatine. Think people. If the caffine in his coffee cup can alter mood, don't you think a hormone like creatine can alter mood as well? Eat your whole foods, plenty of protein and work hard without this snake oil.

  • @jphillipps

Creatine is not a hormone, I don't sell creatine, etc, etc. Perhaps take some time to watch the other vids on creatine (such as "is creatine a steroid?" and others) , and or read various articles on my site that covers the studies on creatine to become better informed on the topic... Good luck.

  • My mistake. Creatine is a nitrogenous organic acid. Independent users have claimed that they suffered from bouts of depression and increased aggressiveness when they took creatine. When they stopped taking creatine, or when they took a break from creatine, they felt “happy” and “light”. The bouts of depression returned when creatine intake was resumed. Comment?

  • @jphillipps (1) I have been in the business for two decades plus, and that's the first I have heard of any such effects (2) well controlled published studies always carry more weight then anecdotal N = who knows, 'net reports, and the published studies (300+ now) find improve brain metabolism, improved memory, etc with creatine. (3) as I have said to others below, I cover most of the data in my free report at Creatine-Report dot you know what, and or in articles on my site. Good luck.

  • @jphillipps That statment is rediculas and you obviosly have "No Idea" what you are talking about. Yes Caffine in his coffee can alter mood, its a fucking drug. Creatine is not a drug. And its certainly not a hormone?? For you to even say for a second that it is a hormone proves you do not know what you are talking about. There have been more tests on Creatine than any supplement or drug. There are "0" test that showed aggression or addiction. Research before you sell BS comments.

  • @jphillipps It does effect ones moods! Substances effect people differently according to body type!

  • @OrganNLou

    False again :(

  • @jphillipps This is bullshit. Everyone naturally got Creatine in his/her body. It is a special protein. Creatine does not affect your mood at all. It is especially good for vegetarians, as certain kinds of meat and fish got Creatine more concentrated in it.

  • @jphillipps you are a moron

  • Thanks for that informative video, Will.

  • I really wanna know which faggot thumb down this vdo.

    GW!!

  • The side effects i experienced yesterday was poignant. Everytime i take it i am emotionally unbalanced. I work with people all the time and I require professionalism. Yesterday, new years eve, I had taken some of this product and I was annoyed, pissed off, and with-drawn. I dont get it. Maybe those are the hormones that are reactively released after injesting...

  • The only thing that I don't like is when you stop it all goes away no matter how hard you work

  • Thanx man, couldnt stand that other asshole in the blue polo, he talked so gotdamm slow ! and a 10 minute video, i want quick facts, time is money !

  • do you have ay sort of degree to back this up?

  • @playray2244 My full bio can be found on my web site. Lots of creatine articles (all free) at my site. You can also download a full report (also FREE) at Creatine-Report dot you know what, which covers the studies, etc, etc. if interested in the topic of side effects, medical benefits, and so forth. Good luck.

  • creatine doesnt make your apendix burst it simly makes the kidneys work a little barder bc the creatine takes away water from the kidneys... long term use like a several years may lead to problems... ifc u want a goodx source of creatine eat some salmon it naturally increases creatine production.... hey willbrink i kinda wanna see some credentials nd the papers yuo

  • Yo man thx 4 da info G, good job ;)

  • @TomTomDaBeast

    Thanx!

  • What I've heard is that no body knows the EXACT side effects of it, if any, because Creatine its a "fairly new" supplement, and research is still to be conducted on people who have used it throughout their lives, in other words, ITS TO NEW TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT, check back in 50 years from now...

  • what would be the differance between mixing the creatine in normal water ( wich is moustly slight accidic and mixing it in ALKALINE water ? i think that that would be better .... don't realy know but i'm willing to try that because i changed my water. used to be 6.7 ph but if you would disolve it in 8.2 ph would it be better ?

  • may mixing it with cold water give you stomach problems( if you get my drift)?

and if yes, how can i avoid it? i want to use warm water as in your other video, but i have been told it's not good for you to drink hot water from the spring, and it would certainly be a bother having to cook water everyday

  • Dude if you think that Creatine did not destroy my friends apendix you are in left field. He still has a scar where they cut him for his surgery. You are so mininformed.

  • @JEHIAHL

Gee, cause appendix don't go bad all the time right son? I have done consulting work for supp companies on creatine, consulted to creatine companies, been involved in research on creatine, been published in a dozen counties or so on creatine, etc, etc. hence, I have forgotten more about creatine in a day, then you, or anyone you know, will ever know about creatine. No, the creatine had nothing to do with his appendix, period. Good luck.

  • @JEHIAHL Good thing mine already bursted and was taken out lol.

  • You need to cycle through this stuff if you take large amounts. I take it during lifting days but my buddy took it without cycling off of it and had to have surgery on his apendix which burst. Overall it can be a very good supplement.

  • @JEHIAHL

No, you don't need to cycle through it (see other vid that covers that), you don't need large doses (above5g) and your buddy's appendix had nothing to do with the creatne.

  • Hi some kids at school says that creatine is good for you and they use it a lot. They said that your body doesn't produce its own, and that its not bad. what are your opinions on that?

  • @GeNeStRoNg Your body produces plenty of creatine.

  • @diabloprey

False. Read the actual data. Articles on my site. Good luck.

  • @GeNeStRoNg

I recommend you view the other vids in the creatine series here. You will know more about creatine then all your friends at school by doing that.

  • gotta get some coffee here

  • Quick question Will.... Does creatine break down in water? after a while my shake can taste off.

    Brett

  • @Brakedust300

Watch the other vids which cover that topic,,,

  • hey thnx for info. but please talk a little bit about BETA ALANINE.

if u could reply to me please do so im dying to know your opinion on it thanks alot.

  • Hi will...I have bought some creatine which says it is 99.9% pure but is white "shinny" powder. is it the norm? thx

  • @BaraLauraKhara

They all say that, what else could they say "not very pure"? Watch the other creatine vids in the series for more info on that. There are article on my site that covers creatine purity issues also BTW

  • Thanks for these videos mate, i just wanted you to know that they are really being appreciated. i subscribed and joined your site as well.

  • Hey, thanks for the video.

I have a question though. Is it particularly harmful to drink alcohol while you are on creatine?

  • @ShirayuriSky

I have not seen any specific creatine + alcohol studies to see if there would be some side effects due to that combination. I doubt it's an issue beyond the known issues of alcohol, but I don't believe it's been studied.

  • @ShirayuriSky i was drinking everyday while ging to gym work out with creatine for one month, my growth was normal and etc. but the hangover make it a little bit harder to work out as much as possible, so from my personal experience, i can tell u for sure u woudlnt die

  • i have a question , alot of places online say you need to be 18 to take creatine, but i have heard loads of places an heard of loads of examples of under 18 year olds using creatine. would it be okay as long as you take appropiate amount?

  • @NsNBobbysto I think you will be okay... The reason (probably) why they ask for people to be 18, is because they don't test things on kids. -At the end of my freshman year of highschool i started taking creatine... I saw

Only problem I've ever had with creatine was stomach bloating...probably because my body wasn't entirely dissolving it. I think it probably had something todo with the fact that i bought cheap wal-mart creatine...

  • @NsNBobbysto

There's no specific age for creatine per se, but the fact is, most teenagers have poor diets and poor training habits, and should focus on that vs taking supplements.

  • Thanks for the video.

I've been in doubt about creatine for some time now, and I am now convinced to start.

  • good video but I have one simple question: what about the high risk of getting stretch marks when using creatine and lifting weights... is that a myth or is it true ?

  • @HaVoCRhyme

One has to gain a lot of weight quickly for stretch marks, and creatine won't cause it.

  • Well, I am not as well versed in the studies as you are however, when I used to take Creatine it caused dizziness and really dehydrated my body.

I did like the gains it provided as it doesnt "bloat" as much as protein supplements - but the personally experienced side effects were enough to convince me that I may be better off putting it down.

Now I am back in the gym at age 30 - in the best shape I have been in my life - and all with no supplements whatsoever.

    Hard work but feels great!

  • Side effects: loosing money ;)

  • Good One Will ;-)

  • Thanks for yet again factual information we all can use, you're the best.

  • I really appreciate these videos, finding good information on creatine is hidden with all these myths
