  • I think cliff rolled his eyes when peevy said hood ornament

  • they had more efficient gas powered engines back then ;)

  • The score captures the wonder of flight perfectly.

  • @Premonition45 I like it, although it reminds me of another of Horner's works, An American Tail.

  • Thanks to the dilligence of the FBI.... that part is awesome

  • I loves this movie!! Is one of the most overrated movies of all time...and is very good...I glad that the new generations are discover this movie again

  • who plays the giant bad guy? he looks bigger than Andrey the giant

  • Comment removed

  • That 'Big Gopher' thing was a hoot!

  • Thanks to the FBI this vacuum cleaner won't fall into the wrong hands :)

  • @windrunnerkronicles well FBI does mean FEMALE BODY INSPECTOR, so of course they messed up.... see i made it a bigger joke

  • Music and footage at 2:25 ... makes me want to get out of my seat and cheer!

  • One of the best scenes of the movie... the score gives me goosebumps every time I see it.

  • all u need is a bag o weed

  • Yeah, I think Rorschach might have the best outfit ever.

  • lol always a car to crash into when you need an explosion :D

  • "don't worry folks, it's all part of the show" :-)

  • QUISIERA QUE LA BAJARAN EN SPAÑOL LATINO

  • Lothar's design reminds me of The Brute Man.

Old suspense movie, MST3K did an episode on it.

  • 3:11 ... first Martin Baker seat in history !

  • @Zach979 I think it wasn;t promoted enough. Such a great underated film. Like alot of pulp pieces during the early 90s.

  • I'd like to see a sequel where his Cliff's grandson finds the rocket pack (say Peevee created a newer version after the events of the movie).

  • @MagnusPrime01 well if you put it that way, here are some title ideas for a should-be sequel:

    Rocketeer:Remodeled

    Rocketeer Returns, The

    Rocketeer Reborn

or if you have ideas feel free to post

  • I dont see how a little fin on the helm can vary the pitch, roll and yah.. but it's a movie i guess :D

  • That vacuum cleaner looks like what the rocket pack looked like in the comics.

  • Why didnl;t they make a sequal to this?! Such a kcikass film!!!

  • I actually love when he screws up and nearly gets killed because he doesn't really know what he's doing....but this was such a COOL MOVIE to watch as a kid!!

  • like "mousekateer" lol

  • This looks more realistic than todays CGI

  • 4:15 Jamie Lee Curtis? O_o

  • Yeah gopher...

  • The main Rocketeer theme is one of the most beautifully heroic tunes i've ever heard. Really great movie!

  • @Stigmatainmypants right up their with john williams superman theme & Danny Elfmans Batman theme.

  • if this was real how would he keep his legs from being burnt up?

  • Damn, what a GREAT family film...one of the comic book adaptions ever put to film, from the characters looks to the pacing and score, an 'A+' movie.

  • When the pack is fired up in the back of the truck...his arms should have dislocated and traveled down the sides of his rib cage. Great movie!

  • It's all part of the show!!

  • How would you roll with a jetpack? Arms angle? Ok I think I will enjoy the movie and let the physics take a break for today.

  • The helmet acts as a rudder. All you have to do is turn your head and shift your body.

  • The same guy plays Luthor and the tall farmer when the short one says "big gopher"

  • big eye brows big boobs yumm

  • When the made this movie, the special effects served the story. Nowadays, the story serves the special effects. When too much CGI is used, I think it actually makes it look more fake, not less.

  • 6:20 0 -60 MPH in 1.5 seconds. Much Faster than a porshe, jaguar or corvette...You agree?

  • the rocketeer is a true american hero..........he allways does what's right i'd say he's right up there with captin merica and dick tracy and batman!

  • "How do I look?" "Like a hood ornament"

    HAHAHA

  • The shots of the rocketeer flying next to the plane (when the woman sees him) are *flawless,) even by today's standards. You can see that they were using old technology for some of the scenes and new CGI as well. A mixed bag, but a fantastic scene.

  • Malcolm and the phallic symbol (the plane lever).

  • The thing about this scene is yes the FX are dated a bit and you can see the flaws easily. But it doesn't matter because of all the emotion & excitement that carries the scene through. Too many filmmakers of today are more worried about getting all the CGI right and not enough about whether the scene is powerful and moving. Sure, use the best FX you can afford but don't lose sight of the entire scene by only focusing on the individual parts. This is one of the best scenes in any superhero movie.

  • i remember renting The Rocketeer when i was a little kid for the NES, such a piece of shit game... but the movie rocked though.

  • The Rocketeer's suit is the best in movie history! Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @lonerider234 One word: Rorschach

  • @UniversalHeat Rorschach, like from Watchmen?

  • I like Cliff's character a lot. He's a man only too willing to engage in thrilling heroics, and his heart's in the right place, but at the same time he's an idiot fly boy who's dense enough to act as a heat sink for his own rocket.

  • @Apollomasque Rocket-Doofus AWAY!!!!

  • You burn your feet and legs off with that thing if it were real .lol

  • @davektm5257

Didn't you listen? The rocket burns cold. Zero heat emission, only thrust.

  • @Apollomasque The Rocket can't burn cold, because that's physically impossible, by the simple fact that rockets BURN. There is a cooling system, that prevents it from overheating and blowing up, but the rocket stream itself would still be hot

  • @weldonwin

It's Science fiction. Maybe some brand new technology?

  • @weldonwin So what man, its a movie!

  • @davektm5257 I'd agree. But it would be cool to have something that makes you fly.

  • This is how iron man should have been done!

  • Best scene in cinema history. Brilliant

  • Lol most interesting way to make a enterance right below the plane and freaking out the pilot.

  • big gopher

  • he should be a marvel/dc superhero

  • I love this line:

"put in drive, you steer I push lol

    After zoomed off

    In the mobster mind

"screw that I can't catch that truck.

I'm sorry if i could that one word

  • @supermant25 he says put in neutral......they did not have auto back then....

  • "How do I look?"

    "Like a hood ornament!"

  • Damn how fun would that be to strap that rocket on your back and just fly around. Id do it for sure

  • one of the few movies that really captures the exhilaration of flying

  • the brown jacket hes waring looks awsome

  • That big guy who was killing people scared the shit outta me when I was a kid

  • 4:15 lol :D

  • FANTASTIC movie!!!

  • This is the best part of film, hands down.

  • God I LOVE this movie

  • 6:29-6:31

Love Peevy's reaction to being pushed so damn fast LMAO

it makes you wonder why this movie bombed when it was in theaters? dissapointing and probably the only reason there wasn't a sequel.

Still my favorite movie from my childhood pastime.

  • @KingofFPS One possible reason is that it was released only a month before one of the highest grossing movies of 1991, if not THE highest grossing movie of 1991-- Terminator 2: Judgement Day. That, and Disney did an absolutely piss-poor job of marketing this movie to the general public. Probably some other factors too, but those I remember. And I agree-- this movie was one of MY fondest childhood memories as well-- I watched this until I about wore the damn VHS tape out.

  • good action scene

  • 3:12 ... the first Martin-Baker Ejection Seat of the history ! :D

  • 3:10

  • one of my all time favorites....although i would of liked to have seen more than one Rocketeer, im glad there didnt end up being any sequels due to there being very lousy sequels to great memorable films, like the Rocky series....

  • some credit to the clown, he managed to stay in the air

  • man, u'd think hed be the human touch with how that back pack fires flames

  • Hahahaha! Oh man! I was floored from 4?32 to 5.05

Also the 'Iii Like it!" thing was perfect! :p Classic fun.

Shame they don't make movies like these anymore. Now it's heavy on the special effects, low on the acting. Hell, some Fan Movies are a lot better than some of the movies they make in Hollywood. The only thing that makes or breaks a movie is the preformance of the actors, not how good the special effects are. Those are secondary.

  • well said sir :D

  • @Comodovaran the effects still look good. i mean its a real person not cgi

  • "Oh don't worry folks, it's all part of the show."

    Some show indeed.

  • Is the Rocketeer related to Iron Man?

  • @ patrick he is not related to iron man but he is related to ultraman(japanese anime) lol

  • @Patrick200717 I wouldn't think so-- for one, Rocketeer predates Shellhead by about thirty years (the original pulp comics this movie was based on); two, Iron Man wears a full suit of powered armor, not just a jetpack; and three, Iron Man's trademark mode of flight is jets mounted in his armor's boots, not a pack that he wears on his back.

  • @DorianMichaelsIII

Iron Man had a suit of Space Armor WITH an extra rocket pack on its back. Watch the 90s cartoon's second season.

  • "congratulations gentlemen , thanks to diligence of the FBI ,this particular vaccum cleaner will not fall in the wrong hands"

    Howard Hughes

  • Malcolm was like i don't want a blow job lol

  • The tall ugly guy looks like a Dick Tracy villain reject.

  • your totally right lol

  • @PervySage6931

He's based on Rondo Hatton, a Hollywood actor who suffered from the disfiguring condition acromegaly, as did Richard Kiel ('Jaws' from James Bond), Ted Cassidy who played 'Lurch' in the Addams Family, and André the Giant.

  • @entelechyuk Didn't the guy who played lurch in the 90's addam family movies also play Mr. Hom the assistant to Lwaxana Troi on Star Trek TNG?

  • Comment removed

  • "big gopher"

    rofl

  • Totally. Movies were so awesome in the 90's. And then he takes off the helmet..."I like it!"...LOL

  • What I'd give for a sequel...

  • WOOO!!! THAT WAS SOME FLYING!!

oh ya, dont compare rocketeer to ultraman, what are you nuts? the ultraman is a poor excuse of a TV entertainment, this is more comparable to Ironman, pfft ultraman, you should be a shamed to even mention ultraman here

  • reminds me of ironman - is that similar to ultraman ?

  • Comment removed

  • I never see efects like this before and after this movie!!!!

  • "I like it!" lol

  • "Congratulations, gentlemen! Thanks to the diligence of the FBI, this particular vacuum cleaner will not fall into the wrong hands."

    Quite a sarcastic quote.

  • haha

  • @ThomasAnime That;s what made him such a goode character for Lost.

  • @ThomasAnime Not really :P
