Hunting is tightly regulated already and only mails are able to be harvested from herds or packs in order to keep a good healthy herd (if you don't know it only takes one mail in a herd to perpetuate the population) Sometimes to keep a good healthy herd it is necessary to harvest some females to control the population. It is not leangle to hunt from plains unless a special permit is acquired (which is rare) when a herd or pack is getting out of hand.

but once you shoot a wolf...what are you gonna do? EAT IT? If you are humane,even when shooting a deer you wish it the fastest,most pain-less death possible. These wolves are being killed in a manner that doesn't count as "hunting",it counts as murder.

For the "warm & fuzzy" Disney addicts; killing wolves from a plane is not hunting, it's culling. Culling is done to maintain a balance because wolves don't understand conservation any better than Disneyites do. I hunt coyotes, but would never do it from aloft..no fun in that. They eat what they catch, and down the chain, other animals slowly eat the kills, that is unless, you've got people clearing out the clean-up crews of the high-up predators, like say, coyotes. HAHA This footage is at least 20 years old. That is why it is archive footage. Why don't you tell the natives in the areas where wolves are overrunning them that they are over hunting. Fact is if we were over hunting then the wolves would have nothing to eat, then they would starve to death. Its not a matter of people over hunting. The problem is there is enough game, but way to many wolves for the area. In several areas hunting is by permit only, which issues very little permits.

I am seeing mostly ignorant comments! Hunting is tightly regulated already and only mails are able to be harvested from herds or packs in order to keep a good healthy herd (if you don't know it only takes one mail in a herd to perpetuate the population) Sometimes to keep a good healthy herd it is necessary to harvest some females to control the population. It is not leangle to hunt from plains unless a special permit is acquired (which is rare) when a herd or pack is getting out of hand.

I come from a family of responsible hunters... which some of the pictures in your video probably depict, but hunting animals from airplanes is just plain fat and cowardly. On that we all agree. Alaska loves that money from fat-cat trophy hunters. It's important to know trophy hunters take the best of all the animals... not the sick and old like a predator animal does.
