They should keep Brandon Routh as SuperMan, he did a pretty good job playing him. The movie storyline was weak and had too much soap opera in it. They should replace the actress who played Lois Lane and get Rose McGowan to play her instead. And the sequel should have a super villian in it who can give SuperMan a real good fight.

I thought Superman Returns was a good movie and don't think they should reboot the series. They just need to make a really good sequel.

If they did make a reboot I think it should either be a sequel to the TV series Smallville or movie that is a lot closer to the comics.

Plus the your supposed just have an open mind that Superman Returns does take place five years after II. The year the movies were released doesn't matter. The film makers goal was to make the latest movie modern.

It's obvious that Superman Returns is a separate time line from Superman III & IV. To continue after Superman I and II you continue after either watch Returns or III and IV Visual ______________________ Superman Superman II Superman III Superman IV: The Quest for Peace or Superman Superman II Superman Returns

Personally I think the next Superman movie should include Doomsday. I mean they already have Jason (Lois Lane's son) who could be Superboy and Lex could cash in on the death of Superman to make a cyborg Superman of his own. They could have Superboy fight the cyborg Superman and be beaten to a point where he's near death and bring Superman back from the grave (like Jonathon Kent in the comics). I know that's taking quite a bit of liberties with the comics but it could work.

actually, I am trying to be a director. My story is almost done and have the doomsday. First movie starts with battle with blood on superman and breating hard from the fight with Doomsday, then it starts with the movie. The actual doomsday fight movie will be in the second movie. That is my approach.

I think Superman fans would get confused about a movie where the Superman/Doomsday fight ended at the beggining of the movie. Maybe if you had the Doomsday fight as the first movie and have it continued into the second movie it could work but not the other way around.

To answer your questions, Superman Returns was a sequel to was a sequel to Superman 1 and 2 while completely disregarding parts 3 and 4. Also regarding the timeline I think you have to take into account the weird comic/real life time (example when a comic book ends in a cliffhanger it's a whole month for us real life people but only a few seconds for the comic book characters). That's an extreme case I know but it's the best I can come up with.

Have you heard of the Green Lantern film coming in 2010 that will feature a cameo from Clark Kent and the Green Arrow film that will have cameos from Joker, Riddler and Lex Lutuor but its unknown if it will be set in the same continuity as Superman Returns and The Dark Knight.

Honestly, I was unable to enjoy Superman Returns. I actually started making complaints before the opening credits were even finished, because right from the getgo Bryan Singer was only trying to emulate Donner. Throughout the movie I was either complaining about things tha didn't make sense or making fun of how creepy they made Superman (let's face it, he was a stalker in a cape). I say bring on the full reboot.

The timeline tree has many branches. They threw away 3 and 4. Returns is now Superman 3. It was at least an improvement on 3 + 4

I agree that they should do more with LexCorp. But I really would love to see Luthor gone completely for once so we can see a villain like Bizzaro or Zod.

That is why I enjoy superhero movies so much, cause in every movie they have a brand new villain.

well I think that Lex Luthor is a given villain. There's always a recurring antagonist and Lex seems like one who would always be there. But I think it they were to reboot it with him in there, give him a partner whose not a rich girl following him around because he's got money. Give him Parasite, give him Metallo, GIVE HIM SOMEONE!

I can't say I'm a HUGE superman fan since I started to like him since I started watching Smallville but I consider it as my fav superhero and I really think that they should reeboot, I know that it would take like another 5 years to make a movie but when I consider the options I prefer to wait some years for a GOOD FREAKING ACTION MOVIE than have another one and a half hour booring movie with no action or fighting at all

I mean, look at the Captain America movie coming up. that's a PERIOD PIECE, set in World War II. they're not gonna have newspapers that say 2011 or whenever the movie comes out. if this is five years from superman II, then set in in whatever year it five years from superman II's release date.

me too, I might consider going to a midnight show for the dark knight but it depends on if my local theater even has one. If there was a World's Finest or Batman vs Superman movie then I would have loved to have seen Heath Ledger as the Joker. but unfortunately that day will never come. Rest in peace, Heath.

Yeah. I think they should reboot it too. And I also personally think they should reboot DareDevil, not sure about electra though I never saw it. But I think they would have to reboot it too if they rebooted Daredevil because of the actress Jennifer Garner I think. But back to Superman, yeah if they rebooted it it would be nice and then cross it over with Nolans Batman maybe? That would be good.

I don't know about crossing over with Nolans. If a literally immortal man and a man who fell into a tank of acid and came out a clown can't exist, then somehow I doubt an alien with superpowers can. but yeah at least we can get a REAL modern day Superman and some redesigning of characters. the problem with this is that every actor from I and II have been recasted by these different people. so all of them have to base it off the original characters or else it doesn't look right.
