Chuck was my idol. His work and styles have been inspiration in my works as far back as I can remember. Since I've migrated to live action, I haven't been able to implement the motion and life I used to put into my works, but the motive and ideal and physique of humor is still there and will always remain. He truly was a master of animation, and we also owe a thanks to Tex Avery, for it was Tex that gave birth to Chuck's uniqueness and timing.
I saw Chuck Jone's work before I saw any of Tex's work. I found myself connecting better in terms of humor with Tex's style, but preferred Chuck's animation. Strangely it was Chuck's abstract style in art that I enjoyed, but I loved Tex's adult humor. This was all when I was 9 :P I was old for my age hehe
The real complaint is that it isn't long enough. Jones' work spans over seventy years. Thirty just counting his Warners work. Something that can't be done in a short doc. Jones was very special and kept on working even through the end.
Almost all of Jones' work though is owned by Warner Bros. today. But there should be a bit piece on his Tom and Jerry days along with The Dot and the Line.
chuck jones...brilliant....to me animatiors and other cartoonist(animation or illustrations) "cartoonist" r the true fine artist....no disrespect to the so called fine artist everyone usually thinks about, but these guys have something those don't.IMAGINATION

Its funny how chuck is credited for looney tunes but he also did some work on other shows like Tom and Jerry. with the same style as looney tunes.
tlk113 11 months ago
@tlk113 That's true but Chuck's work on Tom and Jerry wasn't as memorable as his Looney Tunes work.

Spootay must've gotten her style from this... I've got to meet'er in real life.

I think that HBO or some such network should do a TV series based on the life of Chuck Jones. A 5 year series based on his life.

Wow there's tons of celebrities in the documentry
Warners Bros cartoons are way better then Disney cartoons
Walt Disney never knew how to draw, he just takes all the credit and hated jews and minorites. Go find his docmentry

He also treated women poorly.

I saw this beautifully done doco around the time Mr Jones had passed on.
Poignant . . .
I owe quite a few happy moments (not all of them in childhood, either) to "Chuck" and "Tex" and their colleagues at WB.
THANKYOU! for posting this doco.

You just saved my life-they showed this in my Hist. of Anim. class, and I was absent. The makeup work depends on it.
That, and I find legends like Chuck extremely inspiring and wanted to it anyways. Thank you!
