Thank u for this video!! Do u think that Bioderma is very different than the Vichy micellular solution? I have the Vichy brand but wasnt sure how much better Bioderma is? Thanks for your awesome videos!
Hi Ruth, I have been going crazy looking for something I've seen on your website few months ago, can you help me please :) It was a nice Casio watch, kind of vintage looking. That website was brilliant for other stuff as well but I can't find it anymore! If you know what I am talking about please let me know. Alpha-H Liquid gold set is amazing on my skin! Thank you so much for everything you do, you're great!xx
@fortera21 Keep Calm and Shop you mean? Try searching "gifts for men" - there are less things to sift through and I'm sure I put it in both categories! x
Ruth u r the best!!!!! Everyone I walk into a pharmacy abroad I go ape crap choosing items my husband has to come in and pry stuff away from me since I have no justification as to why i chose this or that etc. Thank you nw I know what to focus on. Ur a life saver.
question....about embryolisse (sp?) i purchased it via amazon about a year ago. i love the texture and the smell. had always heard rave reviews. learned that you're supposed to allow it to sink in.etc. not rub it in. but am i doing something wrong? my skin feels really dry when i wake up in the morning. or mid-day. everyone loves it. i have combo-drier skin...but if it's hot out or something is has too much stuff in it, i can get oily. i am very combo with a tendency to sensitive/drier side?
@mantronixtube hmmm. Not everything suits everyone - perhaps this just isn't the one for you! It's not a particularly complex or advanced formula - maybe you need something more sophisticated! x
I also strongly recommend Terra Humana. It's relatively new and harder to find but same style as Nuxe but all organic (which by the way, Bio Beaute by Nuxe SUCKS!).
Also, Science & Mer's "Ecume Lactee" is my holy grail product! Every girl should use it! Available in parapharmacies rather than pharmacies.
IDC (canadian brand) is new in parapharmacies and AMAZING!
Great video! I also think french cosmetics are some of the BEST out there! I stalk the chain called "Parashop".
hey! it would really really mean alot to me if you could support my new channel by checking out my videos and subscribing!! :D thank you so much, sophie xx
SO SO SO happy you made this video. Last time I was in Paris I was so overwhelmed with the pharmacy selection I didn't buy a thing. This time I will be prepared!!! Going this coming spring... so excited. Thanks again Ruth, you are amazing!!!
@bankomeister11 Nuxe is great but lately they reformulated some of their classics and their organic line was a true disappointment. I've had 3 creams in my rotation for years: Creme Etincellante, Creme Nirvanesque & Reve de Miel. Every single one has been reformulated to my great displeasure so i won't repurchase :(
@bankomeister11 Effaclar is a great line! Helped me out when i used to break out. In fact my dermatologist recommended i use the soap and remove my make up with Crealine H2O.
The Effaclar soap is so cheap as well and really clears the skin out without stripping it. LOVES IT!
Oh and for body products: Roger Cavailles and ROC! ;)
Ruth, thank you for sharing french oriducts with us. I live in the state so some of products you have there I order them on amazon but shipping is just outrageous. I love caudali tooooo!
I think it's also important to mention that "pharmacie" is different from "parapharmacie" because most of the pharmacies only carry a few brands from what is available in the parapharmacies and also it's much more expensive because the dispensers decide of the prices from their own pharmacie.
@MaiaxxQuin take a look at the skincare routine video (last one I think?) - those are kind of my staple products and then I test new things out every third day! It's pretty much my full-time job now, so I just have to get on with it! x
Ruth, your videos are wonderful. My favorite are your skincare videos. I was wondering if you might consider making a video about facials (which types you prefer, how often you get them, etc.) and also any skincare treatments that you might receive (glycolic peels/masks, laser resurfacing, etc.). Your skin is absolutely gorgeous and a video of this sort would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Ruth.
Dear Ruth, I love watching your videos. I must admit, however, to be truly surprised when you mentioned Embryolisse. Altough I am well aware of how ubiquitous&famous said product is, its main ingredient is basically mineral oil, something which does absolutely nothing for one's skin but sitting on the top layer as any other common emollient would do. Having, as you do, an exquisite eye for great products I was wondering why Embryolisse should be a choice. Thanks& keep up the good work!
WE have a new cream here came out last yt- light fraxon- it takes the sunlight and turns into red light therapy- to help the skin with anti ageing--- i have yet to try it- it next on my list- but what i LOVE IS mixing aspirins -plain on cheap uncoated asprins in your fav face wash- what a differance you will feel!!! great vid- x shelly
Ruth, your videos are absolutely fantastic! My favorites are your videos regarding skincare. I got a lovely French product the other week... It's by 'Institut Karite', called 'extra gentle cleansing water'. I managed to get it for £6 (250ml) on an online sale site. I've used it twice now & it's really good! I have really sensitive eyes and sometimes my eyes are red & watery after taking off make up but not with this! Ordered bioderma after u tweeted about the zuneta free ship code, going to compare ingredients & stuff when I get it :) But yeah it's a great cleansing water xxx
Dear Ruth, love this video as usual !! you are so helpful and your videos are always my first to watch!!! I have a question regarding french skincare brand. Have you ever try Fresh? I have been using Fresh few years ago, their cleanser, toner..My modeling coach was French and she recommended to use Fresh and I was suffering acne at that time. I really want to know your opinion about Fresh and thanks advance Ruth!!! oxoxox~~~
Thank you so much for this video Ruth!! When I finally go on my trip to Paris, i'll be all set at not only the duty-free but the french pharmacies!! thanks a million! x
i was in shock when you said in a previous video that you're 30!!! Judging by that and your skin's look I'm definitely gonna take your skincare advice to heart :)
@ferreelzzsedra well it depends on the ingredients and your skin concerns really. You don't need to be using anything with anti-ageing ingredients yet, really - just a good moisturiser with SPF and a basic eye cream. I'll be doing a teen skincare video very soon!! xx
@ferreelzzsedra i'm 20 and have been using an eye cream since I was about 17. I think an eye cream is probably best to start with in your late teens or early 20's. Serums I think you can start whenever you want. I started using a serum when it was really cold in the winter as my skin was drying out and the serum was the only thing that helped without thick layers of moisturisers.
I love your videos as you are very informative :) Thank you !! And i wanted to ask, about Bioderma. I use their green line for oily/combination skin. And know I'm wandering which product i should buy: "Purifying renovating concentrate" or "Corrective care, skin with blemishes" ? Daily i use their foaming gel and Eucerin DermoPurifyer creme-gel :)
@inridute do you have a lot of blemishes? If not, I'd go for the purifying, by the sounds of it! I haven't tried them though - let me know how they are! x
your skin is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo perfect!
i am thinking of buying some Bioderma skincare products: face wash, moisturising cream and that make up remover. it's quite hard to find in my country, but i found a pharmacy which have these products
if you think French women take their skincare seriously, then have a peek inside the realm of Asian skincare – these women take skincare SERIOUSLY indeed! haha ;-P
Hi Ruth! I love ur 'waffling on', it's one of the reasons it fun to watch u!...Wut was the very last eye cream product? Is that ur fav eye cream or just a good one?
Hi Ruth!Great video as always!I've been in the lookout for a good basic moisturiser but I have very difficult skin(prone to clogged pores, and breakouts :/ )so I think the Embryolisse wouldn't suit me because it has mineral oils in it.Do you think the Institut Esthederm Pure System Shine Control Fluid can be a little drying at times ?Because usually that is the case with mattifying products
@greatbitch8891 I don't find it drying at all! Have you tried la Roche Posay? They have some good products for oily skin, and also Alpha H do some GREAT things for difficult skin! x
The caudalie fleur de vigne is my favorite fragrance for Summer, it's very fresh an light! Also the handcreme is fantastic and smells very fresh an clean.
Hey Ruth, thanks for that video! I got one question: Have you used L'Occitane products before? I've been using the face toner a lot recently and I absolutely love it and I'd like to know what you think about the brand. x
@AModelRecommends Oh! Can you post a review about it? I'm currently using Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF40, and the SA told me I should try the Angelica spf shield next to compare. But I don't know. I was thinking about getting something else from the Angelica line, and see how that goes.
Are you using Effaclar K or Duo? I don't know which one to try first.
oooh and one question that I've been meaning to ask you for a while now: can you work on an iPhone app? I love reading your blog when I'm on the go or waiting somewhere or when I'm home lazing around. I think it would come in super handy!
@zickzackhosenkack but what would it do? Just be the same site in iPhone format? I was thinking about it, but not sure what I would offer differently! You can save the site in as an icon on your homepage which would probably just be the same thing! If you have any ideas let me know xxx
@AModelRecommends I think it would make a huge difference if one wouldn't have to zoom in and out of articles all the time. But that's probably the only benefit. Well if you ever do decide to get one I'll be the first to buy it :)
@zickzackhosenkack ah I see! OK, let me dwell on it. It's about £10,000 to get one made properly with all the bells and whistles, so I'll be saving up for a while! x
Oh my! more skin products Ruth.. you've so many, how long do you use any one product? I've been using the liquid gold for less than a week.. & I can see its benefits. But I'm wondering how you can tell how well each product works as you use so many.. I think you must have genetically great skin, more so than all those products. Thanks for sharing those with us... as I'm sure there is something for everyone.x
@TheSaintlydevilish I test for a few months if I'm doing a big write-up like with Alpha-H, but also remember that I have been modelling for ten years and doing AMR for only one - I have a LOT of products to talk about that I have tried over the years! xxx
I love your skin care videos but they are never really geared to my skin type (oily), do you think you could possibly do one regarding products for that skin type :)
@xAdrianaxL yes! I did one last year for oily skin, and they are always geared more towards oily-combi than dry as I have combination skin myself! But I shall do another dedicated video soon x
Would you recommend Vichy as a good skincare brand ? I have just recently started using the Aqualia Thermal range(mostly paraben free) for dry skin and i love it so much already. I also love the vichy 3in1 cleanser for using with the clarisonic mia which i also recently purchased.
i have to stop watching your videos.... it makes me spend WAY too much money. in just the past 2 weeks alone lets see.... bioderma X3 = $60, Alpha-H kit= $51, Gi
orgio Armani Eyes to Kill #6= $32. And that's just the ones I can remember!!! O.O
Here, Avene, La Roche Posay products are found in drugstores.. and so yeah they are halfway between expensive and cheap. I have never found any inclination to try them. But thanks to you, that is about to change! :D
Have to say I absolutely love this video. I need to go to France and Switzerland for business in a couple of weeks and this is just an excuse to get shopping for perfect products again, thank you!
Talking about French products, have you seen the autumn edition of Chanel makeup? Apparently they have some incredible eyeshadows and since you reviewed Chanel a couple of times, could you do it again maybe? :)
hi, ive only recently found your channel but have already been out to buy some of the products you have recommended. i really rate your opinions!
im 18 so that means i have skitty skin thats prone to breakouts, one min its dry the next its oily. it also means im a student so cant afford to buy several £20+ products.
i would love a video on any advice you could offer me and people like me.
I know you look after your skin very well (obviously) and dont tan loads, so how the heck do you have such lovely glowy brown skin! Do you self tan? If so what self tan do you use?
Great information! La Roche-Posse you can actually buy on the Walgreens website, which for the price of most of there products you can get free shipping as well. Thanks again for the amazing info!
Ha! Perfect! Thank you, I'm moving to France in 3 weeks and have been going nuts trying to research what to get when I do get there, but have been coming up with nothing. Thanks Ruth! Hero! :) x
Ruth pls help what's your favourite radiance serum or overnight treatment for dull skin as I have been sick and my skin looks uck.

I love your videos as you are very informative :) Thank you !! And i wanted to ask, about Bioderma. I use their green line for oily/combination skin. And know I'm wandering which product i should buy: "Purifying renovating concentrate" or "Corrective care, skin with blemishes" ? Daily i use their foaming gel and Eucerin DermoPurifyer creme-gel :)
inridute 6 months ago
@inridute do you have a lot of blemishes? If not, I'd go for the purifying, by the sounds of it! I haven't tried them though - let me know how they are! x

thank god for this video. I am currently in France and I've been on a haunt for skincare products I could buy in a pharmacie. What a coincidence
azul7 6 months ago
i am thinking of buying some Bioderma skincare products: face wash, moisturising cream and that make up remover. it's quite hard to find in my country, but i found a pharmacy which have these products

I saw that the Covent Garden Pharpacy stock up on a few french brand.

Brilliant video, as always. Thanks. I personally love La Roche Posay & Avene.

if you think French women take their skincare seriously, then have a peek inside the realm of Asian skincare – these women take skincare SERIOUSLY indeed! haha ;-P

@visceralanding haha! Yes - I have worked in Japan twice, it was an eye-opener to say the least! xx

Will Bioderma remove water-resistent sunblock? (anyone can answer if they know!) Thanks!
visceralanding 6 months ago
@visceralanding perhaps not, actually! I'd use something like a hot cloth cleanser (cleanse & Polish) with a muslin cloth. xx

xxAngelDustxx 6 months ago
Hi Ruth!Great video as always!I've been in the lookout for a good basic moisturiser but I have very difficult skin(prone to clogged pores, and breakouts :/ )so I think the Embryolisse wouldn't suit me because it has mineral oils in it.Do you think the Institut Esthederm Pure System Shine Control Fluid can be a little drying at times ?Because usually that is the case with mattifying products
greatbitch8891 6 months ago
@greatbitch8891 I don't find it drying at all! Have you tried la Roche Posay? They have some good products for oily skin, and also Alpha H do some GREAT things for difficult skin! x
AModelRecommends 6 months ago
YES this is exactly what i need. i'm staying in france for 2 months and i can't wait to try out all this skincare!
icecreamsoda117 6 months ago
I've used Bioderma and it's great. I have very sensitive skin and i didn't break me out. I also liked the Uriage lip balm, it was great.
I need to stock up on Avene Eau Thermale.
It's weird, pharmacies in my country are full of French brands. Which I like, the prices are very reasonable.

The caudalie fleur de vigne is my favorite fragrance for Summer, it's very fresh an light! Also the handcreme is fantastic and smells very fresh an clean.

Hey Ruth, thanks for that video! I got one question: Have you used L'Occitane products before? I've been using the face toner a lot recently and I absolutely love it and I'd like to know what you think about the brand. x
retoelf 6 months ago 3
@retoelf LOVE l'Occitane!! Am testing the Angelica at the mo and it's great!! xx
AModelRecommends 6 months ago 9
@AModelRecommends Oh! Can you post a review about it? I'm currently using Immortelle Brightening Shield SPF40, and the SA told me I should try the Angelica spf shield next to compare. But I don't know. I was thinking about getting something else from the Angelica line, and see how that goes.
Are you using Effaclar K or Duo? I don't know which one to try first.
agepe7 6 months ago
@agepe7 Duo! I have the Angelica SPF40, it's really lovely! xx

oooh and one question that I've been meaning to ask you for a while now: can you work on an iPhone app? I love reading your blog when I'm on the go or waiting somewhere or when I'm home lazing around. I think it would come in super handy!
x
zickzackhosenkack 6 months ago
@zickzackhosenkack but what would it do? Just be the same site in iPhone format? I was thinking about it, but not sure what I would offer differently! You can save the site in as an icon on your homepage which would probably just be the same thing! If you have any ideas let me know xxx
AModelRecommends 6 months ago
@AModelRecommends I think it would make a huge difference if one wouldn't have to zoom in and out of articles all the time. But that's probably the only benefit. Well if you ever do decide to get one I'll be the first to buy it :)
zickzackhosenkack 6 months ago
@zickzackhosenkack ah I see! OK, let me dwell on it. It's about £10,000 to get one made properly with all the bells and whistles, so I'll be saving up for a while! x
AModelRecommends 6 months ago
@AModelRecommends oh my. that is a lot. hell of a lot actually!
zickzackhosenkack 6 months ago
Oh my! more skin products Ruth.. you've so many, how long do you use any one product? I've been using the liquid gold for less than a week.. & I can see its benefits. But I'm wondering how you can tell how well each product works as you use so many.. I think you must have genetically great skin, more so than all those products. Thanks for sharing those with us... as I'm sure there is something for everyone.x
TheSaintlydevilish 6 months ago 2
@TheSaintlydevilish I test for a few months if I'm doing a big write-up like with Alpha-H, but also remember that I have been modelling for ten years and doing AMR for only one - I have a LOT of products to talk about that I have tried over the years! xxx
AModelRecommends 6 months ago
I love your skin care videos but they are never really geared to my skin type (oily), do you think you could possibly do one regarding products for that skin type :)
Because your so informative and fun to watch!
xAdrianaxL 6 months ago 3
@xAdrianaxL yes! I did one last year for oily skin, and they are always geared more towards oily-combi than dry as I have combination skin myself! But I shall do another dedicated video soon x
AModelRecommends 6 months ago
Would you recommend Vichy as a good skincare brand ? I have just recently started using the Aqualia Thermal range(mostly paraben free) for dry skin and i love it so much already. I also love the vichy 3in1 cleanser for using with the clarisonic mia which i also recently purchased.
beautyjunky86 6 months ago

i would love a video on any advice you could offer me and people like me.

YES, here's the best of France
Actually my skin routine is all about Esthederm ♥, Bioderma, Avène and ... Dermalogica (I know, little american brand here but so worth it ! )
Did you know Bioderma was produced by the same laboratories as Esthederm ? Same owner.
That's why the products are so great !
Bioderma has a wonderful moisturizing serum, please try it if you can !
Esthederm is the best brand I've ever tried, creams, serums, masks, their Eau Cellulaire is a big must have !
xoxo from France

@411clo no, it's natural! I tan very easily but I always wear spf so it's more of a slow-forming all-year-round kind of colour! xx
