Alice in Chains was spawned from an already hugely popular genre of music. Blink started their own "genre" of music and the pop-punk (or whatever each person wants to call it) scene took off. They were the first of the Fallout Boys,Panic at the discos, new found glorys, yellowcards, simple plans and all those other horse shit bands. At least Blink is pretty good. =)
