@mattwi if you get some very thin braided rope you can clamp the pvc in a vice then rub the string very fast on top of it, it might take a lil longer but it works

I'm making one of these; the only difference is that my barrel is made of 2 1/2" sch. 40 PVC pipe. I'm having a problem, though. It never fires. I know the lighter works because i un-screw the cap and i see a spark when i push the button. I'm not sure if it's the hairspray that isn't flammable enough or what. Any ideas? Thanks.

@rydizzle83 well, other than shape of the molded plastic that they are in, they are EXACTLY the same thing. if you study electronics, you would know this. neither one has a better spark than the other. what your talking about is spark gap radius. if you put the jump wire and the ground at the same distance as the barbecue one, then they are IDENTICAL in power/amperage.

One question about this one though, is there any way to have a continuous flow of fule without blowing the source (given that if you insert the source tube directly to the ignition chamber, the source will also ignite)? And on the pneumatic ones, is it possible to use an automatic pneumatic pressure builder instead of a handpump (it'd be tiring to pump every time for ammunition lol)?
