  • What is that weird chord he keeps repeating?It sounds kinda like a diminished chord chord or a 7th chord moved down a half step,yet ..different and very hip.

  • Yep. Robert Johnson learned from Scrapper. Robert is so popular due to Eric Clapton and several other pop guitarists learning to play in their teens by listening to his recordings.

  • If you read "Escaping The Delta" by Elijah Wald, he breaks down most of Robert Johnson's popular recordings and shows which songs be borrowed from. He borrowed from a lot of artist, from Leroy Carr to Lonnie Johnson. We all borrow so there's nothing wrong with that

  • @frg8888 Just finished reading it. Great book! Lots of great insight into the commercial aspects of the blues and how porous genres like blues and jazz were.
