Yep. Robert Johnson learned from Scrapper. Robert is so popular due to Eric Clapton and several other pop guitarists learning to play in their teens by listening to his recordings.

If you read "Escaping The Delta" by Elijah Wald, he breaks down most of Robert Johnson's popular recordings and shows which songs be borrowed from. He borrowed from a lot of artist, from Leroy Carr to Lonnie Johnson. We all borrow so there's nothing wrong with that
