Look at the holding (on Lapointe at 0:05), the hooking (by #28 on Forsberg at 0:07), the hook on Lemieux (0:14), the pick (at 0:19) and the two-line pass (at 0:23).

I'm no cheerleader for Gary Bettman but the on-ice product is so much better today without this kind of obstruction breaking up the game. People love to hate on Bettman, but the NHL seems to be getting better every year.

'Within reason' meaning you can't crush a guy after he cleared the puck simply because he touched it last, but for the most part, players won't intentionally cheap shot someone with a clean check.
