Also, try to take as many Americans as you can with you, try and get rid of your disgusting kind since everyone in the world hates them.
@NickBigsmoke Here's a grammar lesson for your stupid ass since you didn't pay that much attention in English class when you were growing up. "Your is a possessive adjective, indicating ownership of something." Examples: "That is your sock." "Your level of stupidity is unacceptable." "You're is a contraction (combination) of you and are." Examples: "You're literally, the dumbest person I've ever met." "You have no idea what you're doing, do you?" Fucking moron.
@RCMatthews93 haha. you should memorize that bit and use it in a job interview. you seem to hold the importance of grammar very high in your life. you fail at life because you bitch and whine about people apparently misusing the word "your" why dont you go listen to just bieber and cry yourself to sleep.
@RCMatthews93 haha. i think having faith in god is better than knowing the proper use of a word. you truly dont understand the point of life do you? Laugh out Loud!
@NickBigsmoke You definitely don't have a point in life other than the one on your tiny head if you believe in things that don't exist, moron. Cough up some evidence for your genocidal scumbag in the sky, or sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.
@Aquaria you wouldnt even exist right now if it werent for jesus christ or the christian religion. and whos to say god doesnt exist, and its only faggots like you who interpret god to be some old man in the sky.
@sematotu oh how wrong this is. ichiro can hit homeruns. and he can hit a lot more than he does. he is a natural right handed hitter. his dad trained him to swing lefty so he could get that step towards first base. obviously, he has grown into a left handed hitter only, but he has a lot more power behind him than it seems. i think he just prefers consistent hits over less consistent long shots
I-chi-ro.....Dont hate him!!! So what he plays for a team that dosn't win alot?! So what he dosn't hit more then 20+ Homers!?!??! He's a leadoff guy that gets on base and is lightning quick!
i like how everyone says the yankees are all skill... ITS ALL MONEY!!! look at their contracts, find 1 player (thats not in the minors or a pitcher) that is being payed less then $5 million... If the mariners have that kind of money, the mariners would be number 1... so yankee fans, quit acting like your the best team, cuz your not, your basically buying the championship... here lets switch teams, take our roster and we will take yours.. if you win the WS then im impressed, other wise ur trash
@420brandyn Fans of loser teams always say the same crap....if my team had that money. The yankees weren't born rich....just a rich tradition of making great decisions and it has paid off. It's a formula that should be respected and followed, not be bitter towards.
"Chicks who dig home runs aren’t the ones who appeal to me. I think there’s sexiness in infield hits because they require technique. I’d rather impress the chicks with my technique than with my brute strength. Then, every now and then, just to show I can do that, too, I might flirt a little by hitting one out.” - Ichiro Suzuki
He should bat 3rd or 4th so he can put up 30+hrs & 100+RBIs. Oh wait, the M's then wouldn't have anyone on base for Ichiro to bat in :) This guy is good. If you ever get the chance to watch him in BP, DO IT. You will be flabbergasted and bewildered as to why this guy does not bat in a "power position."
wow a homerun. remind me the last time they won a world series or even made the playoffs. they r so sorry they needed a jap to help even win 1 game. remember when they bombed us how many of you still love him
Wow probably the most ignorant fucking comment i've heard in a good while. Yes go ahead and blame 1 man for something that happened during WW2. While your at it why don't you hate on every german and call them nazis, he's a good player, get over it.
@TaylorSwiftInsider I still love him. Because he didnt bomb us dumb fuck... and you know you would take him on your team in a second so shut your fucking mouth.
@sematotu yeah, but i think that at this time, put Ichiro at 2nd or 3rd in the order, so that his clutch hitting can drive in runs. All-in-All if Ichiro had a team like the Yankees behind him, I could easily see him winning several World Series Championships, and winning MVP at least once.
@sematotu your stupid. ichiro is good; ill give him that but he has really no power. you wanna know who the best power hitter is in all of Major League Baseball is today? Mark Texiera. He is the best hitter in present-day MLB. Enough said.. GO TEX
The Seattle Mariners are a real team! The New York Yankees are full of nothing but money and greed. It's world series or bust for them. They spend millions buying their championships, and cry their asses off if they can't qualify for the world series. Seattle plays baseball. Seattle plays baseball because we love the sport, and the competition. New York plays because they are too busy trying to be better then Boston and Tampa Bay. Fuck the yankees and the fans! Nothing but bums!
Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter, Joba Chaimberlain, Andy Pettite, Phil Hughes, Mariano Rivera, Robinson Cano, Francisco Cervelli, Ramiro Pena, Brett Gardener, Dustin Mosely, David Robertson, Alfredo Aceves, Colin Curtis, Chad Huffman, etc.
The Steinbrenners spent a ton of years building the franchises wealth so we can WIN. That's the point of the MLB, competition. Sorry your owners just pocket their money and don't spend it for a winning team. :)
@HelloImMateo lol actually, Seattle is one of the more wealthiest teams in the league. For some damn reason they won't spend anyone of it though. The spend all their time picking up prospects and putting them in our AAA club. New York is the exact opposite. They have reached a point where they buy all these big time players who's contracts are up in other cities. 27 championships will do that for you....
All I know is that whenever Seattle beats New York or Boston it's freakin AWESOME!
@Theemeraldcitydude so youre saying that if the mariners decided to spend some money and bought a a few good players, you wouldn't like the Mariners either?
@HelloImMateo I will love the Mariners no matter what the record. No matter what decisions managment makes, I will always support them. However, if we ever had a really good year, I would HOPE it was due to players we picked up through something other then money. For example, Ken Griffey Jr. I know we always talk about this dude, but he is just the perfect example. We draft this dude when he is only 19, and he became a legend throught the 90's. We didn't spend millions on him from another team.
@Theemeraldcitydude The only reason the Yankees pick up these players is cause none of the other teams wanna spend the money to get them. And we drafted Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Hughes, Pettite, Clemens, Cano, Gardener, Pena, and Cervelli and they're all GREAT players for us now.
@HelloImMateo it's not so much the fact that they didn't want to, rather, their budget simply couldn't do it. New York doesn't have this issue. I'm not saying that the only reasons the yankees win is because of money, however, it is a very big advantage over other MLB teams. It ALMOST happened with Cliff Lee, but then Texas came in.
I hope Seattle finds a way to hold onto Felix once his contract is up, he is absolutly incredible, and one of the only players who is helping us win.
@Theemeraldcitydude Well have you heard of the Salary Cap? When teams have over a certain amount of pay roll, they have to pay a percentage of that to the MLB, which gets dispersed among poorer and worse teams. So teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, etc all have to do that.
And if the Mariners dont. I'm sure New York will..
@Theemeraldcitydude Doubt it. Even though I'd like it. Stupid general managers got rid of Austin Jackson for Curtis Granderson, who's hitting like .220. Austin Jackson was on pace for Rookie of The Year. Idk how he's doing now though. And Posada's getting too old unfortunately.
Every time I have money on the Mariners, when only 1 pt is needed to win with bases loaded, these fuckers can't even drive in a run. Fuck the Mariners and the city of Seattle!
@BigPlayParlay then stop putting money on them doushebag! Learn your lesson! You should know by now the Seattle Mariners win by pitching, our hitting needs some serious help. Stop wasting your money on sports betting and provide for your family you bum! Then we wouldn't have to read your bittter ass comments on the internet!
Numbers don't lie. Ichiro's AL stats: 2nd in hits. 12th in batting average at .312. 26th in on base %. Not in the top 50 in runs or slugging %. I won't even mention doubles, triples or HRs. If he is payed so much to get on base why is he 26th in the AL in OB %? And he is not getting any younger. Is he the best singles hitter in baseball? Yes. Beyond that his stats are somewhat anemic.
@AMbuckeyes So what is baseball about? Paying overrated "super stars" like Ichiro inflated salaries so the average fan can't afford a ticket? Gold gloves for playing RIGHT FIELD, not the most demanding or difficult position. When I played baseball as a kid, we always put the worst fielding player in right field. Fewer opportunities to make mistakes. Ichiro had a chance to win the game last night. A double, triple or HR would have done it. He hit an infield single, no RBI, they lost. Again!
@8Trego8 Ha Ha. If Ichiro is so great, why isn't he leading his team to more victories? Some team leader. The Mariners just lost four in a row to Chicago. Ichiro is a loser playing on a losing team. He needs to accept some responsibility. 200 hits a season doesn't impress me when the team loses 100 games. I do agree that the Mariners need better players. The $18 million a year Ichiro gets would definitely buy some better hitters. Runs win games. Someone should tell Ichiro that.
@MILISA99 hey buddy, go get 200 hundred career hits a season, then get left on base because no one else behind you can pull their heads outta their asses in order to score you. Maybe go score a couple runs and realize you're down 8-2 because you have absolutely no pitching. You're a fucking Retard. Ichiro is easily one of the best to ever play the game. You're just a hater cuz he is making $18 million a year, being better at something than you. And those better hitters, they tried,
@MILISA99 didn't fucking hit the ball, so I don't wanna hear how Ichiro is a shitty player, he's a great leader, playing for a shit team, any team that finishes at the bottom of the division, SEVEN YEARS IN A ROW, needs to get rid of the so called "talent" they have, and build around Ichiro, he hits over .300 every year and averages 35-40 stolen bases a season, yet his team finishes twenty games under .500 every year. So don't preach how bad he is til you know you're shit.
@MILISA99 lol sounds like your a little sore over that loss. Let me guess, you were one of those loser skankee fans in Seattle that night spending the entire ballgame talking shit and not even paying attention to the game itself. Let me tell you something, a player is not a team. Ichiro is not the Seattle Mariners, he is just a fantastic player. We understand that the Mariners need to improve by winning games. We are just happy that our best player shut those loud annoying Skankee fans up!
@MILISA99 dude, he's on a six year 18 million dollar contract, I bet you're a Yankees fan though huh? A-rod making 100 million for ten years don't sound to bad to you does it? or Texiera making 53 million for six years either right?
@ChrisFlipsAlot just watch the game first and search for the mariners records for past 9 years with ichiro, you will know exactly what i mean. What you learn is you just don't want to build your team around a leadoff hitters whose career OPS is just barely over .800.
Well, the season drags on. What do Mariner's fans have to cheer about? Not much. They have some descent pitching but the hitting is sub-standard. They are 13 games back in the AL West with little chance to make the playoffs. They have one of the worst records in MLB. The Mariner's owners are ramming Ichiro down our throats thinking we will not notice what a crappy team they are. Ichiro is the most over-rated, over-paid player in MLB.
@ChrisFlipsAlot Watch the game first and the Mariner's record for the past 5 years. The least thing you want to do is to build your team around a singles hitter whose career OPS is just above .800. That accounts for the failure of Seattle Mariners for the last decade. But his employer is NIntendo; a Japanese company. so no wonder they paid him so much and collapse the team.
Wow@the minority who think this guy isn't feared or isn't a gamer. He can win games with his bat, glove, baserunning, his eye at the plate, his arm and his ability to distract opposing pitchers. Can you imagine his MLB stats if he spent his first 9 years playing pro on this side of the water?
ichiro is not a power type hitter like mcwire or bonds or these types but he is the best leadoff hitter in the game no doubt combine that with his i think its 9 gold gloves his ability to steal bases he is also a very good hitter with runners in scoring position the fact that seattle is struggling is no fault of ichiros if not the best player in baseball clearly in the top 5
Reliable? For $19 million a year he should be hitting 25 home runs and getting 100 RBIs. Myself, I like to watch competitive games. I don't watch baseball to see overpaid "superstars?" like Ichiro slap singles. It is only June and the Mariners are already out of the pennant race. I am not seeing a great return on their $19 million a year investment in Ichiro.
you don't know anytihng about baseball. ichiro isn't a power hitter. he gets on base, steals, scores, and is one of the top outfielders in the league. he consistently hits over 200 hits a season, and well over 300 batting average. they're out of the pennate race because his team isn't doing shit at the plate. he's absolutely worth the money and one of the top 10 players in the leauge. theres far more in baseball than hitting 25 homers, but haivng a shitty average and on base %
@fukudome4president I know a lot about baseball. The Mariners total payroll is 98 million, Ichiro's salary is 18 million. That is roughly 20%. Has signing this contract with Ichiro made the Mariners a better team? He is grossly overpaid for what he brings to the team. It seems to me that Ichiro is only concerned with setting personal records, not with helping the team win games. He does not put fear in opposing pitchers when he steps to the plate.
@MILISA99 doesn't oppose a fear? he's the most consistent hitter in the past decade. the mariners team average is .243, compared to ichiro's .343. he's not overpaid, his performance just doesn't look highly valued because of the shitty performance of the rest of the team. if he was on the yankees, totally different story. and don't tell me he's not for the team. if not, he would of been out of seattle years ago. the dude is a gamer. and how else could he help the team win games, start pitching?
@fukudome4president The Mariner's "Ichiro experiment" has not worked. He is not the sort of player to build a team around. He is not a team leader, he does not motivate the other players. I think the language barrier is a big problem. I would be interested in seeing if another team would pick up his 18 million a year contract. I really doubt it. I fear the Mariners are stuck with Ichiro and therefore a losing team for years to come.
they suck because they have no pitchers and no hitters. ichiro is the other guy playing good baseball, like he has his whole career. don't tell me you can't build a team around this guy, seattle could, but they haven't, milton bradley? nahh not working
@fukudome4president If they didn't have to pay Ichiro $18 million a year they could get some better players. I agree, $11 million a year for Milton Bradley was not a good idea either. The Mariners now have $29 million, 1/3 of their payroll, tied up in Ichiro and Bradley. What are they getting for their investment? They worst team in baseball.
@poljham07 I live near Seattle and seeing the Mariners in the cellar year after year is getting old. Like I said, for $18 million a year Ichiro should be hitting 25 HRs and 100 RBIs a year. I'll admit he is the best singles hitter in baseball but he does little to help the team win games. If he did they would be winning more games wouldn't they? He should be ashamed for accepting that kind of money. It's a rip-off of the Mariner's fans.
@MILISA99 I agree with you. Only those who closely watch every Seattle game know the true value of Ichiro. Ichiro is not a kind of player who can create runs all by himself. He is on pace to earn 40+ rbis and score only 70 runs. He is extremely overrated for the price he's paid. You could argue that he's not responsible for the disastrous years Mariners have had for almost a decade. But he is also not contributing to wins either. And it was always the offense that's dragging down the team.
@MILISA99 ok ok...all of japan watches the mariners coz of him... his jersey is the best selling jersey....people go to games just to see him play... man... and his stats are not tooo bad... sorry man...im an ichiro fan... i just have to defend him.. u know.. haha
@poljham07 Why has Ichiro not expanded his game to help his team win? He plays the way he always has, slapping singles. That doesn't drive in runs. That is why his RBI total is always so low. Why can't he make adjustments to become more of a power hitter to drive in more runs? I think he is more concerned with his personal statistics than helping his team win. I think the other Mariners players are scratching their heads and wondering why this guy is paid so much. Not good for team morale.
@MILISA99 are you dumb dude he is a leadoff hitter his job is to get on base to get runs.become more of a power hitter ? wtf you talking . look at his frame does he look like a power hitter. if you want to complain to anyone yell at the mariners for not getting anyone to drive him in. ichiro slaps a infield hit gets a single and steals bases
@Pandabearmadness We don't have very high expectations of Ichiro. Slap a single or two to the infield, shag a few balls in right field, maybe steal a base. Great players drive in runs and help their team win games, provide leadership on the field and in the dugout. Ichiro does none of that. He does not inspire his team mates. If he is so great, why does he stay with a losing team like the Mariners? He doesn't seem to care if the team wins or not.
@MILISA99 the game of baseball is not to win or lose its to have fun.ichiro does incourage his team.he is making it to the all stars he is a power hitter and he can hit the ball he inspires his team mates with the inspiration they can be just as good as him with his cannon arm.anyone can be as good as him practice.ichiro is amazing and is funny interviews watch them hes pretty laid back how do you know he doesnt inspire his team mates?prick.
@hellopie4567 I'm have not much fun watching the Mariners. It would be more entertaining to watch a team that is somewhat competitive. Ichiro slapping singles does not excite me. The Mariners actually won a game last night. Ichiro was not in any way involved in the scoring. Ichiro, Milton Bradley and Chone Figgins are earning in the area of $36 million, over 1/3 of the Mariners payroll. They are paid these bloated salaries to win games, at least that is the theory. They are not producing.
@Pandabearmadness ok no offense of any sort to ichiro, cuz he IS the greatest hitter of all time, but you doubt his ability to be a power hitter, i fyou ever get the oppertunity watch him in batting practice. when he actually stays in the box and doesnt use his odd mechanics he hits the ball hard. he has such a great eye and knows if he is going to swing or not as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand. if he stayed in the box and used 'proper' mechanics, he wouldnt get as many hits but arou
@Pandabearmadness nd 20-25 home runs a season. you dont have to be huge to hit a home run, i mean im 6 foot 160 and can hit a home run. its all about the swing and ichiros got it.
@acer2012ful i didn't say being able to hit a homerun. i said a power hitter. prince fielder is a power hitter not ichro and what lead off hitters are power hitters. you want a lead off hitter with good on base %. i know ichi can hit homeruns. but i just mean he's not that type of player.
@Pandabearmadness well im just sayin, i know the concept of a lead off hitter, but if ichiro wanted, he could hit a lot more home runs. not that he should, he is probably the greatest lead off hitter of this era. its a bummer he came into the majors at an older age cuz he would have smoked pete rose's hit record i bet haha
@acer2012ful my bad. i just really appreciate a player like ichi. and i wish i had a player like that on my team. so its upsetting when i see people ragging on him. not you but , you know. i respect your comments.
@Pandabearmadness ha yea there are a lot of teams who could really use a player like him, mine as well. haha yea i didnt mean for it to sound like i was ragging on him
@ISAJirafProductions dustin pedoria is no more a power hitter than ichro most homeruns he has ever hit in a season is 17 . just go compare ichro stats to pedoria no comparison .
@MILISA99 he is the best leadoff hitter in the game. i was just looking at his stats and his numbers are god like in terms of baseball Careers. in this day of huge contracts he is getting what he deserves i could understand you being angry if your paying for a huge contract and the player is just horrible. just like how the giants are paying zito a buttload of money. and he is the worst pitcher on the giants pitching staff. and who cares its not your money. blame your gm that your team sucks.
Omg. That must be an amazing feeling if you play there, and make a homerun. I play baseball too (im 15), and when i make a fantastic act, i feel amazing too.
Greatest hitter of all time? He gets 50 RBIs and 10 home runs a year if he is lucky. He is basically a hitter who slaps singles, not a hitter who wins games for his team. The Mariners are 10 games under .500. Why is that with a "great" hitter like Ichiro? He makes 19 million a year, by far the highest paid Mariner. Myself, I would rather they used that money to sign some players that would strengthen the team. Being in the cellar year after year is no fun despite Ichiro.
the greatest leadoff hitter of all time vs the greatest closer of all time. MY OH MY!

Theemeraldcitydude 1 year ago
@Theemeraldcitydude Wow, You don't know the Yankees.
HelloImMateo 1 year ago
@HelloImMateo lol actually, Seattle is one of the more wealthiest teams in the league. For some damn reason they won't spend anyone of it though. The spend all their time picking up prospects and putting them in our AAA club. New York is the exact opposite. They have reached a point where they buy all these big time players who's contracts are up in other cities. 27 championships will do that for you....
All I know is that whenever Seattle beats New York or Boston it's freakin AWESOME!
Theemeraldcitydude 1 year ago
@Theemeraldcitydude so youre saying that if the mariners decided to spend some money and bought a a few good players, you wouldn't like the Mariners either?
HelloImMateo 1 year ago
@HelloImMateo I will love the Mariners no matter what the record. No matter what decisions managment makes, I will always support them. However, if we ever had a really good year, I would HOPE it was due to players we picked up through something other then money. For example, Ken Griffey Jr. I know we always talk about this dude, but he is just the perfect example. We draft this dude when he is only 19, and he became a legend throught the 90's. We didn't spend millions on him from another team.
Theemeraldcitydude 1 year ago
@Theemeraldcitydude The only reason the Yankees pick up these players is cause none of the other teams wanna spend the money to get them. And we drafted Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Hughes, Pettite, Clemens, Cano, Gardener, Pena, and Cervelli and they're all GREAT players for us now.
So.. we don't ONLY spend money lol
HelloImMateo 1 year ago
@HelloImMateo it's not so much the fact that they didn't want to, rather, their budget simply couldn't do it. New York doesn't have this issue. I'm not saying that the only reasons the yankees win is because of money, however, it is a very big advantage over other MLB teams. It ALMOST happened with Cliff Lee, but then Texas came in.
I hope Seattle finds a way to hold onto Felix once his contract is up, he is absolutly incredible, and one of the only players who is helping us win.
Theemeraldcitydude 1 year ago
@Theemeraldcitydude Well have you heard of the Salary Cap? When teams have over a certain amount of pay roll, they have to pay a percentage of that to the MLB, which gets dispersed among poorer and worse teams. So teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, etc all have to do that.
And if the Mariners dont. I'm sure New York will..
:D
HelloImMateo 1 year ago
@HelloImMateo yeah, or boston.
So, is NY gonna repeat?
Theemeraldcitydude 1 year ago
@Theemeraldcitydude Doubt it. Even though I'd like it. Stupid general managers got rid of Austin Jackson for Curtis Granderson, who's hitting like .220. Austin Jackson was on pace for Rookie of The Year. Idk how he's doing now though. And Posada's getting too old unfortunately.

AMbuckeyes 1 year ago

MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99 hey buddy, go get 200 hundred career hits a season, then get left on base because no one else behind you can pull their heads outta their asses in order to score you. Maybe go score a couple runs and realize you're down 8-2 because you have absolutely no pitching. You're a fucking Retard. Ichiro is easily one of the best to ever play the game. You're just a hater cuz he is making $18 million a year, being better at something than you. And those better hitters, they tried,
kace842 1 year ago
@MILISA99 didn't fucking hit the ball, so I don't wanna hear how Ichiro is a shitty player, he's a great leader, playing for a shit team, any team that finishes at the bottom of the division, SEVEN YEARS IN A ROW, needs to get rid of the so called "talent" they have, and build around Ichiro, he hits over .300 every year and averages 35-40 stolen bases a season, yet his team finishes twenty games under .500 every year. So don't preach how bad he is til you know you're shit.

@ChrisFlipsAlot just watch the game first and search for the mariners records for past 9 years with ichiro, you will know exactly what i mean. What you learn is you just don't want to build your team around a leadoff hitters whose career OPS is just barely over .800.
choline500 1 year ago

But his employer is NIntendo; a Japanese company. so no wonder they paid him so much and collapse the team.
choline500 1 year ago
Wow@the minority who think this guy isn't feared or isn't a gamer. He can win games with his bat, glove, baserunning, his eye at the plate, his arm and his ability to distract opposing pitchers. Can you imagine his MLB stats if he spent his first 9 years playing pro on this side of the water?
Lennon4life1968 1 year ago
ichiro is not a power type hitter like mcwire or bonds or these types but he is the best leadoff hitter in the game no doubt combine that with his i think its 9 gold gloves his ability to steal bases he is also a very good hitter with runners in scoring position the fact that seattle is struggling is no fault of ichiros if not the best player in baseball clearly in the top 5

MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99
you don't know anytihng about baseball. ichiro isn't a power hitter. he gets on base, steals, scores, and is one of the top outfielders in the league. he consistently hits over 200 hits a season, and well over 300 batting average. they're out of the pennate race because his team isn't doing shit at the plate. he's absolutely worth the money and one of the top 10 players in the leauge. theres far more in baseball than hitting 25 homers, but haivng a shitty average and on base %
fukudome4president 1 year ago
@fukudome4president I know a lot about baseball. The Mariners total payroll is 98 million, Ichiro's salary is 18 million. That is roughly 20%. Has signing this contract with Ichiro made the Mariners a better team? He is grossly overpaid for what he brings to the team. It seems to me that Ichiro is only concerned with setting personal records, not with helping the team win games. He does not put fear in opposing pitchers when he steps to the plate.
MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99 doesn't oppose a fear? he's the most consistent hitter in the past decade. the mariners team average is .243, compared to ichiro's .343. he's not overpaid, his performance just doesn't look highly valued because of the shitty performance of the rest of the team. if he was on the yankees, totally different story. and don't tell me he's not for the team. if not, he would of been out of seattle years ago. the dude is a gamer. and how else could he help the team win games, start pitching?
fukudome4president 1 year ago
@fukudome4president The Mariner's "Ichiro experiment" has not worked. He is not the sort of player to build a team around. He is not a team leader, he does not motivate the other players. I think the language barrier is a big problem. I would be interested in seeing if another team would pick up his 18 million a year contract. I really doubt it. I fear the Mariners are stuck with Ichiro and therefore a losing team for years to come.
MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99
they suck because they have no pitchers and no hitters. ichiro is the other guy playing good baseball, like he has his whole career. don't tell me you can't build a team around this guy, seattle could, but they haven't, milton bradley? nahh not working
fukudome4president 1 year ago
@fukudome4president If they didn't have to pay Ichiro $18 million a year they could get some better players. I agree, $11 million a year for Milton Bradley was not a good idea either. The Mariners now have $29 million, 1/3 of their payroll, tied up in Ichiro and Bradley. What are they getting for their investment? They worst team in baseball.
MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99 stop acting like a smart ass.... you dont know what youre talking about. 18 million for ichiro... is not overpaying... end of story.
poljham07 1 year ago
@poljham07 I live near Seattle and seeing the Mariners in the cellar year after year is getting old. Like I said, for $18 million a year Ichiro should be hitting 25 HRs and 100 RBIs a year. I'll admit he is the best singles hitter in baseball but he does little to help the team win games. If he did they would be winning more games wouldn't they? He should be ashamed for accepting that kind of money. It's a rip-off of the Mariner's fans.
MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99 I agree with you. Only those who closely watch every Seattle game know the true value of Ichiro. Ichiro is not a kind of player who can create runs all by himself. He is on pace to earn 40+ rbis and score only 70 runs. He is extremely overrated for the price he's paid. You could argue that he's not responsible for the disastrous years Mariners have had for almost a decade. But he is also not contributing to wins either. And it was always the offense that's dragging down the team.
choline500 1 year ago
@MILISA99 ok ok...all of japan watches the mariners coz of him... his jersey is the best selling jersey....people go to games just to see him play... man... and his stats are not tooo bad... sorry man...im an ichiro fan... i just have to defend him.. u know.. haha
poljham07 1 year ago
@poljham07 Why has Ichiro not expanded his game to help his team win? He plays the way he always has, slapping singles. That doesn't drive in runs. That is why his RBI total is always so low. Why can't he make adjustments to become more of a power hitter to drive in more runs? I think he is more concerned with his personal statistics than helping his team win. I think the other Mariners players are scratching their heads and wondering why this guy is paid so much. Not good for team morale.
MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99 are you dumb dude he is a leadoff hitter his job is to get on base to get runs.become more of a power hitter ? wtf you talking . look at his frame does he look like a power hitter. if you want to complain to anyone yell at the mariners for not getting anyone to drive him in. ichiro slaps a infield hit gets a single and steals bases
Pandabearmadness 1 year ago 17
@Pandabearmadness We don't have very high expectations of Ichiro. Slap a single or two to the infield, shag a few balls in right field, maybe steal a base. Great players drive in runs and help their team win games, provide leadership on the field and in the dugout. Ichiro does none of that. He does not inspire his team mates. If he is so great, why does he stay with a losing team like the Mariners? He doesn't seem to care if the team wins or not.
MILISA99 1 year ago
@MILISA99 the game of baseball is not to win or lose its to have fun.ichiro does incourage his team.he is making it to the all stars he is a power hitter and he can hit the ball he inspires his team mates with the inspiration they can be just as good as him with his cannon arm.anyone can be as good as him practice.ichiro is amazing and is funny interviews watch them hes pretty laid back how do you know he doesnt inspire his team mates?prick.
hellopie4567 1 year ago
@hellopie4567 I'm have not much fun watching the Mariners. It would be more entertaining to watch a team that is somewhat competitive. Ichiro slapping singles does not excite me. The Mariners actually won a game last night. Ichiro was not in any way involved in the scoring. Ichiro, Milton Bradley and Chone Figgins are earning in the area of $36 million, over 1/3 of the Mariners payroll. They are paid these bloated salaries to win games, at least that is the theory. They are not producing.
MILISA99 1 year ago

Pandabearmadness 1 year ago
@Pandabearmadness well im just sayin, i know the concept of a lead off hitter, but if ichiro wanted, he could hit a lot more home runs. not that he should, he is probably the greatest lead off hitter of this era. its a bummer he came into the majors at an older age cuz he would have smoked pete rose's hit record i bet haha
