some time ago i got to talk to Pat Paterson as we walked all the way from MSG to the hotel where some wrestlers were staying at Broadway and 46 av in NYC and he mentioned that some wrestlers did rent cars to stay in town for a few days and some others rented hotel rooms it was their choice,so at 75 thusand per year at the rate of 200 plus days on the road ,pretty much you spent a lot of money doing this things and you dont have much left to buy life health care or anything else in that matter!

Maybe they can find a way to tie in with the Actors Equity Union. Professional actors face alot of the same risks professionally as do wrestlers, essentially wrestlers are actors, and in the acting business it's similar cuz if you're not on Broadway you're nothing, like if you're not on WWE you're nothing, but alot of people can make a living off Broadway through Equity, maybe they can have something similar for wrestling.
first of all, plenty of people wrestle outside of wwe and make more than enough for a living. samoa joe, kurt angle, austin aries, brian danielson, those guys make plenty. perhaps a more casual wrestling fan won't know you unless you're in wwe, but that's not the point. you still are something if you choose to wrestle outside of wwe.
second, did you listen to new jack? regardless of how, if you join a union and you're in wwe, vince will fire you for someone else who won't join a union.

I know that you can work outside of WWE, I was just drawing the comparison that as the equivalent of the acting world WWE would be like Broadway, and plenty of actors make great livings off of Broadway, but all actors who make a living at acting are members of Equity. ALL of them.

As a wrestling fan, I'd like to see changes for the better for pro wrestlers. Healthcare, drug rehab, pensions, and other benefits should be available to pro wrestlers. With the money that the WWE makes, WWE wrestlers should have those benefits. Why not, Vince?

Not really. Mainly, as with every job, you are paid according to your productivity/draw. If booking a worker on your show will make your company more money...then it is a wise investment to pay him accordingly or lose him to another company.

Maybe they can find a way to tie in with the Actors Equity Union. Professional actors face alot of the same risks professionally as do wrestlers, essentially wrestlers are actors, and in the acting business it's similar cuz if you're not on Broadway you're nothing, like if you're not on WWE you're nothing, but alot of people can make a living off Broadway through Equity, maybe they can have something similar for wrestling.

first of all, plenty of people wrestle outside of wwe and make more than enough for a living. samoa joe, kurt angle, austin aries, brian danielson, those guys make plenty. perhaps a more casual wrestling fan won't know you unless you're in wwe, but that's not the point. you still are something if you choose to wrestle outside of wwe.
second, did you listen to new jack? regardless of how, if you join a union and you're in wwe, vince will fire you for someone else who won't join a union.

I know that you can work outside of WWE, I was just drawing the comparison that as the equivalent of the acting world WWE would be like Broadway, and plenty of actors make great livings off of Broadway, but all actors who make a living at acting are members of Equity. ALL of them.

As a wrestling fan, I'd like to see changes for the better for pro wrestlers. Healthcare, drug rehab, pensions, and other benefits should be available to pro wrestlers. With the money that the WWE makes, WWE wrestlers should have those benefits. Why not, Vince?

Not really. Mainly, as with every job, you are paid according to your productivity/draw. If booking a worker on your show will make your company more money...then it is a wise investment to pay him accordingly or lose him to another company.

WTF? are you a moron. No wrestler ever made that per week. Bret Hart at $3.5 mil per year was the highest paid before merchandise and most of that goes to the company not the wrestler. Most guys don't earn a lot but I heard Khali is making twice as much as most guys. HBK earns $30k per month, HHH is probably the top earner at the moment and I doubt he is on over 1/2 a mil per year basic.

Obviously you have no concept of money. Generally the top wrestlers contracts span out to at least 1.5 million dollar deal for 5 years or howeverlong thats is. But chances are that their is a clause in their contract that prevents them from getting all of that money.
