  • So just so I'm hearing this clearly...Great blues tone can be achieved through a Line6...using EMG pickups. You tryin'a troll?

  • more videos than views :O

  • it sounds a little bit like we call it in austria "old socks"

  • WoW worst how-to-video ever

  • Good blues tone? Start with a real tube amp, not one of those transistor computer amps. I get good blues tone plugging straight into a 1964 Deluxe Reverb and turn it up to about 6. No "Drive" control needed!

  • Nice hat

  • Blues tone isn't something anyone can really package...there's so many legendary players with so many distinct styles, you can't just dial in one tone and call it "blues." Blues, from an instrumental stand point, is a particular character in which someone plays the guitar. Amps can't create it, they can only facilitate it.

  • in expert village everyone is the village idiot.

  • The Best Electric Guitar Tone for Blues : Amp Settings: How to waste 2 minutes of your life.

  • good job doing nothin but confusin noobs you sorry ass excuse 4 a guitar player, u worthless chunk of SHITTTTTT!

  • he must be tone deaf eh?

  • my car in da bar.. where is your bro good will hunting? nice shorts

  • My ass has better blues tone than this

  • hi, i think youre an idiot

  • This is obviously the Expert Village idiot. I do believe they give that hat to the one who so deserves the title.

  • @Bobbaganoosch Thanks very much. I just spit coffee all over my keyboard. That's absolutely hilarious.

  • that tone sounds like junk....

  • Thats the best tone............FOR HIM!!!!!!!

  • What udder shite

  • try the older Laneys, like the VC30, or just about any tube Fender.. old marshall etc..

  • @geordiechik86 thanks for the reccomendations actually a few days ago i bought a fender deluxe reverb. god i have been missing out.

  • Expert Village is a cool name... and that's all. It's the blind leading the better-off-without-you. Expert Village is ALWAYS a let-down. They only exist because they have the balls to flood the net with shit and hide behind a name that makes them sound worthwhile. You can't look anything up without finding an EV vid about it and you can't watch their vids without experiencing rage. If you're impressed with EV, you simply don't know any better.

  • that was great tone but i preffer the fender or vox for clean blues

  • why use that strat when you have that es 137C there!?!?

  • buy a vintage Fender tweed amp, turn it up to about 7 and play really well with a good guitar thats in tune. End of story

  • seems any asshole can be an expert

  • seems any asshole can be an expert

  • fender is gay. line 6 amps are gay.

    you are gay.

Gibson is amazing. Marshall amps are flawless.

    and you are still gay.

  • @MetalliMan0521 Fender tele and Stratocaster is the perfect guitar for blues playing. Ask Buddy guy, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Roy Buchanan... just get a digital Delay Boss DD3 and that's it!

  • @MetalliMan0521 I mean...that's cool and all, but you're wrong. Except for the part about Line6, you are correct there.

  • This review is fuckin' retahded

  • @LedJam26 Too funny!

  • So let me get this straight: To get the best tone from an amp, turn the dials up & until you like the sound..? Did I get that right? Wow, thanks, man..all this time I've just been sitting here staring at the amp, waiting for it to sound better ;-( I'm gonna try turning those knobs up & down :-)

  • @lazur1 funny! but right on with the comment :-)

  • That's as fat sound as you can get from a transistor amp..still a bit skinny....if you really want the BEST tone, then you need a tube amp dude. So I think the title of the video is totally wrong.

  • @jdom1

You old fuck, who says you need tubes for "tone"? I've gotten great tones from SOLID STATE amps, anything from Roland to Ibanez to Crate to Kustom, the list goes on. I played a Gibson EDS-1275 through a 200 dollar Fender GDEC and you know what? It sounded great. Skinny? Not at all, morbidly obese if anything. Blues? NO problem. Just because your dad and your grandpappy used tube amps in the good (bad) old days doesn't mean you need them for this mystical "tone".

  • @WoWintosh You've obviously never played through a tube amp

  • @WoWintosh ALL solid state amps do is reproduce a close enough tone to a vintage amp with tubes in it. They are samples of tube amps you dim wit. Learn before speaking

  • @WoWintosh

actually the only way to get certain tones is with vintage technology.modern amps don't clip and compress like old cathode biased, tube rectified, alnico speaker equipped amps...just doesn't happen.those amps feel alive when you play them.

you can get decent sounds from SS amps with ceramic speakers but you are limited and the guitar has allot to make up for

  • @WoWintosh You're the kind of person that just knew the Zune was going to out perform the iPod.

  • @djtrouserfunk Thanks for a wild idea! I'll try that ukulele thing out. Not for blues, no, but something wicked... ;)

  • Drive and reverb? More like a tuner and some skills.

  • Expert Village? More like Amateur Camp.

  • nice hat FAGGOT WASTE OF MY TIME!

  • At least plug in a strat into ANY low gain tube amp to get you in the ballpark! OMG that was crap...next time they're going to tell us that getting a good blues tone you need a ukulele going through a Boss Metal Zone going through a Digitech Whammy into a car stereo with the speakers panned all the way to the right!!!

  • Haha

I learn that if I would prepare a VDO for a lesson, I would check my VDO first.

  • learned nothing from this. good blues tone dont come from guitar or amp, come from practice and skill...

  • He starts of by saying "To get a good blues tone, you first have to get a good tone out of your amplifier."

Wow...... That's like saying to get a good sound, you first get a good sound.

Expert Village has never impressed me.....

  • his first mistake was playing a line 6 haha idiot

  • why are people so nasty??? You don't have to watch every video.

I guess if it makes you feel better to be negative, go to it. Must suck being like that.. Thank you for posting the video sir.

  • @joshua5878 Hard not to be negative with a video like this, that is titled "Best blues tone" and it is not even close to even poor blues tone. This is the kind of video that confuses beginners. A blues video with a Line 6? Please.

  • @joshua5878 that was seriously a waste of time, and you can't see that? I think there are so many negative comments because this vid was posted professing to add some kind of value or insight for those wanting some tips to getting some blues tips for amp settings, and all this guy said was to add some gain, then some reverb, then change the knob settings and you get some different tones...wow...my 2 year old daughter does that when I'm playing and she's twisting all the knobs & thinks its funny!

  • expertvillage: please stop polluting youtube with your videos

  • was his last video about being a terrible pirate? what else could explain the jean shorts and ridiculous hat?

  • He taught me how to mispronounce "guitar".

  • I have to agree with MetallicA145678910......."EXPERTS" they are not.I would never call myself an expert, but I've been playing guitar for about 25 yrs........and the key to anyones sound is quite simply their influences..................whateve you've been listening to all through you're years comes out in you'er sound.some like a hard crunchy tone.....others prefer a softer warm tone.personally I like to pitch one against the other for dynamic effect.its all a matter of taste...

  • is he a cocktail waiter son of Christopher Walken

  • 0:59 that is so white!

  • dude i get more of a bluesy sound out of an old acoustic guitar on my front poarch swing

  • how come everyone on expert village is really never an expert

  • is that the tone you used in the Zit Remedy, Joey Jeremiah?

  • this is a good video for what to wear if you hate getting laid

  • @kodosatdi Now that's funny!

  • i learned that expert village are not experts at anything.

  • @simsdogg92 Thats my exact setup hahaha, but I have an ibanez too for metal

  • expert village, everything you do sucks balls. the last thing you should do is trying to teach anyone to "play like keith richards" or "set great blues tones on your amp"

tell the entire expert village staff to take whatever musical equipment you have, and toss it in the river.

  • @simsdogg92 ok thanks dude,by the way i got a pyramid g10,with no mid knob, not sure if you've ever heard of that ;) and one more thing, how do i get a heavy metal sound,i think i got it but i dont think its enuff, does it depend on my skills? or its just fully on the amp?

  • @PredatoriaMoon it mostly depends on your ear and how you like your tone. for my metal tone i like a lot of mids with a fair amount of bass, and i roll the treble almost all the way down. if you want to hear an example of how my equipment sounds, go check out my video that i just now put up.

  • hey,im a new learner and im gonna get myself an amp which is quite small and have a very little buttons, juz wanna make sure do small amps with little buttons have a distortion system?

  • worst tone ever! Tune your guitar before start playing!

  • why would anyone "like" this?

  • i didnt even have to watch this, i see a line 6 amp and immdeatly close it.

  • I watched this while setting my amp and thought was that it? I wish I had read the comments first, might I also venture he looks like a cock

  • Nice JORTS Douce Bag.

  • Hey lay off he taught me something.... He taught me how to be a misleading douchebag.

  • too true the most important thing is overdrive and reverb... jesus christ

  • so what your saying is turn the knobs. ok, well fuck you anyway.

  • i learnt that his guitar was out of tune...

  • Best electric guitar tone for blues.. cant be done with a line6.

  • słabe...

  • ok line 6 blues or vox blues what will win thumbs up for vox

  • that´s the worst guitar sound i´ve ever heard.... Jesus....

  • cant hear you

  • nice shorts. FAIL

  • What is this guys accent? He sounds like he's straight out of an old black and white gangster movie!

  • my amp only has a gain, trebble, bass, volume, and master knobs, how can i get it to have a bluesy sound? wtf?

  • @iDuffdabestweed I max out on the base cos I love that thick tubey tone, put the gain to 5-6, decrease the treble, and turn up the volume.

  • The whole purpose of this is strange to me, I mean what common tone are SRV. bb king and rory gallagher sharing? It depends on the individual musician and his influence. Whole point of blues is that its not a cheesy music in a can, off a tab performance, it's individual.

  • EXPERT FAILAGE!!!!

  • I'll tell you best settings DRIVE 10 BASS 5 MID 0 TREBLE 10

  • Expert Village! YOU FUCKIN' SUCK!!!!!!

  • @redg00 Totaly agree

  • Blues, such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, is surprisingly cleaner... Turning the gain up full blast only works on 80's crotch rock... your tone controls help you more than anything in blues...

  • It helped me - thanks

  • Wow, this sucked.

  • is this a joke? Or is he serious...

  • waste of time

  • You guys should rename to idiots village

  • OMG Tune your guitar

  • it really doesnt matter what amp you use, it matter what sounds good to you

  • @captross07

umm...my favorite amp is a solid state one and the amp DOES matter you noob. using a death metal tone for blues obviousl;y won't sound good. it's ignorant pricks like you who judge somebody without even knowing them that's a problem, not me.

  • @Fluffypopcicle first of all, anybody who uses the term "noob" doesn't know a damn thing about the blues. You're talking as if there is only ONE proper blues tone. I have heard blues players use clean tone w/ a little vibrato, I have heard gritty fuzzy blues, and yes I have even heard so much distortion it sounded like death metal, but they were bluesing it up, and they were good at it.

You clearly don't know anything about REAL music, so just shut the fuck up!

  • @captross07

oh, so apparently classical isn't good music? i love the blues, but there is a certain line 6 tone that i hear every once in a while that simply can't be used for the blues. i never even said you couldn't use a line 6 for blues or that there was only one good blues tone which is what makes you so incredibly stupid. the title of this video implied that this tone is the best for blues music and anybody that has a good taste in blues tone doesn't think of a line 6 when they hear that.

  • @Fluffypopcicle First: I never said Classical isn't good music.

Second: "I never said you couldn't use a line 6 for blues." Read your first comment, dipshit!

  • @captross07

i said was hilarious as in nobody thinks line 6 when they think blues unless they are an inexperienced guitar player. you said i don't know anything about real music, so yes, you did say classical isn't good music. by saying what you said you said any music i like or know about sucks. read your own comments.

  • @Fluffypopcicle (AA-CHOO!) *sniff* sorry, I'm allergic to arrogant pricks.

  • @captross07

okay, you keep ignoring facts and insulting people because you're angry that you lost the argument.

  • @Fluffypopcicle And you keep acting like an arrogant douche because you're pissed that their never was an argument to begin with.

  • @captross07

and you keep responding to 5 day old comments. did it really take you that long to come up with that? you're right there was never an argument to begin with, you're too stupid to make a valid point.

  • @Fluffypopcicle It didnt take me that long. The act of reading your self-indulgent bullshit bored me so much that I went into a coma. I just came out of it yesterday.

Here's an idea: quit being so boring, change your tampon, and move the fuck on.

  • @captross07

im the one that needs to move on? okay. if you wanted to move on, you never would have responded.

  • (AA-CHOO!) *sniff* sorry. I'm allergic to arrogant pricks.

  • This is a very bad video. He only explains Drive and Reverb.Thumbs Down.

  • @Fluffypopcicle its expert village ... cant expect better :P lol

  • @shreeshsk

so true lol. expert village sucks.

  • How bout the heart and hands????? Guys spend wayyyyyyyyy to much timj worrying about holy grail technology

  • This video should be called "The Best Hat for Blues!"

Seriously now. Get a Fender Twin Reverb or a classic Marshall if you want a little bit heavier stuff.

  • I always play blues on my floyd rose...fail

  • what kind of experts are you guys. looks like dumbsville to me

  • try tuning the guitar and selling your line 6 on ebay! This should improve your tone.

  • Try tuning the guitar and selling your line 6 on ebay! These are the first steps to improving your tone!

  • when i saw the line 6 i pressed X

  • lol line 6 4 blues try a fender or vox

  • Thank god this guy made more videos. I thought there was only one. I kept watching it over and over to make sure I got all the data.

  • The best is his hat.

  • i cant stop giving this a thumbs down and saying that THIS DEMO SUCKS

  • i learned more about blues amp settings when watching a camel shitting

  • the only thing he taught us was how to turn a gain knob...

  • No man this guy knows the what's what he is the shit

  • another expert village junk.

  • i like number 7 xD

  • 'Expert'? They just got a random guy who thinks he knows abit about guitar! Biggest pile of crap i've ever seen. As if they recon there's ONE tone for playing blues and nothing else is better... what a joke!

  • Buy the Blues Junior, you'll see the difference

  • lol most disliked? I had to see this video!

  • Horrible

  • Line6 amp?? LOL!!! bloody hell! at least use a Blue Junior!! a Fender amp!! a real amp :) none of that digital crap

  • want a good blues tone, buy a tube amp.

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaa, playin blues on LINE 6 is like f**** boy in pink top!!!

  • Blech.

  • @Fluffypopcicle i have one and it sounds GREAT! :)

  • this video blows. tone is so subjective and is different for everyone.

  • according to this video, bb king is doing it wrong

  • this video is pure shit

  • X= An unknown quantity. Spurt= A drip under pressure. Thank you once again X spurt village.............Wankers

  • Too bad you didnt use a good tube amp for the demo..

  • Nothing says great blues tone like a solid state amp and a guitar with a Floyd Rose.

  • Oh yeah, and because he has a line 6 that turns him into the next stevie ray vaughn no question.

  • you sound like you're from charlestown

  • Eeew line 6 lol :)

  • "expert" village is god

  • useless info thanks

  • is this a joke?

  • Lol i just have a cheap amp, without drive or reverb.

Just: Gain, Volume, Middle, Treble and Bass :P

  • expert village idiot.

  • does his strat have a floyd?

  • @TheJonabel yeah but no locking nut so its really no beter than a vintage fender bridge

  • yah i cant really see if the locking nut is there or not... fender did at one point release strats with floyds for a few of the h-s-s models around the mid-late 80s and early 90s... i think.... but i have never seen one. if that is indeed one of those thats kinda neat.

  • OMG that sucked

  • @tuberluke

    Oh, be nice.

  • wait... you mean blues as in the kind of music, blues?

    are you sure?

as in the blues without solid state amps and floyd rose bridges.........

  • wow this video really sucks

  • Exert village SUCKS in guitar... but they are good in Parkour :P

  • Get a Vibroverb and a Stratocaster (Single Coil).

I hate digital sound (I got a boss gt8 and it sucks at all genre expect METAL -.-)

  • God, the reverb on that Line 6 sounds horrible through my speakers man

  • for SS, i'm a big fan of the Roland Cube 30x. I like the Tech 21 60 also

  • what do you expect from a guy that tells you that his setting is the "best" play however you like your sound and dont listen to the morons..if youre a good player you sound good even with a battery amp

  • While this guy SUCKS, BB King (the king of tone) has used both tube AND solid state amps. Blues cubes are popular to. If your in a situation where you CAN'T CRANK IT UP, tubes don't sound as good, and there ARE some nice SS amps out there. The reason SS gets a bad rap is since its cheaper to manufacture, ALL budget GARBAGE is made from it. I have played BAD sounding TUBE amps as well. The rule is whether tube OR SS your gonna PAY to get good stuff, no cheapies.
