If there is a lot of strenght difference, it is possible, but you can armbar while the guy lifts you. And to the "you can just slamm him to the ground" guys, it one takes 1 second to fully extend the hips, so the arm is useless as the guy is trying to pick you up.
I Tried Doing This Move To My Friend , But I Did One Thing Incorrectly And I Really Hurt Myself Alot. So I Watched This Video Again Saw What I Was Doing Wrong DId It Again Worked Perfectly.
know wat your talking about ,in my group you have people ho don't watch to the sensei when he says its dangerous so they pull damn hard and it hurts like hell!
it might be abused but to do it you need to look carefully and then you will see a slight movement in the guy his face cause of the pain. and if you abuse it the only way to do it good is if the guys sitting in that position or other position you can become when your FIGHTING so abusing is a pretty big word.
lol, did you not realize most "youtubers" has attention defecit disorder? They only read or listen to what they want haha (selective reading/listerning)
wow this guy sucks at being an advanced judo technician.....that is NOT how we do arm bars from guard, and more importantly guard is almost never utilized because of the short amount of time we have to attack b4 we are stood up.
both are good. bjj is better for MMA though due to extensive ground work. honestly, bjj would confuse the heckarooni out of me if i tried progressing in it
@saberman41 haha thanks for checking up on me. two years later...WOW time has been going by so fast. i gave up judo about 4 months in because I started focusing on college big time..now i'm just working and can't imagine spending as much time as i did back then on judo. it was great fun when i took the classes, and i still believe it is one of the best martial arts (or sports) out there. how about yourself?
@Reddogg387 my dojo teaches bjj and judo when i was trying both to see what i liked more i went with bjj because i got injured a lot in judo but i have been doing bjj for 6 months straight and gonna work at that black belt u should get back in2 judo of u have the time u wont regret it!

just do a triangle?
lightoflothlorien 10 months ago
@lightoflothlorien If you have short legs (me) and he has a wide back, you'll never get the triangle locked in.

@Rofny these chokes/moves are dangerous , i was sparring this guy and he chocked me and i was seeing stars in under 5 secs.

the best technique would be hiza gateme
knee applied armlock
but good video

the 1st armbar is not worth submitting...
23bilog23 2 years ago 3
u have no idea... it actually is really painfull is done properly
budstryker 2 years ago

This most likely doesn't work...if ur a 200 pound guy vs. 100 pound guy..
Most likely the guy will be moving his hands, so u need to do variations to execute the move

judo is good it helps expand my knowledge for use in jeet kune do.
robisgangsta1 2 years ago
Judo and Jujitsu are very similar. Its like baseball and softball.
Christrapture 2 years ago
ya only differences really are is judo emphasis more on throws and slams jujitsu is more on ground techniques and ground defence/offence
robisgangsta1 2 years ago
I just started training in MMA. it's fun but this hold hurts like hell. Its very effective
1965Grandpa 2 years ago
Its not easy to get it thou, he can use the other hand to break the arm bar by psuhing his leg away. But from the side it is very effective.
and1tanker 2 years ago
in this position I would go with the triangle choke

Ehh, this kind of stuff shouldn't be published on youtube and stuff. They can easily be abused this way, which isn't the meaning of it.

true. people who don't learn in a gym don't learn respect and things which separate martial artists from brawlers.

you could of had a triangle why go for an armbar
DraikonZ3 2 years ago
he should of used the right leg to puch his left leg out and brought his left leg over to the opposite side and start to push in with his hips.
no body will reach right in there.

that is true!!
i learned in the fortworth judo club many other better arm bars!
i agree with you!
he probley hasnt had his black belt that long. you do not go that slow when you are on the ground.
you are doing your tachi wazia or whatever and you go into ground work!
i highly agree with you!
judojohn16 2 years ago
Learn your nage waza from a judoka, but for ground technique it is usually better to learn from a jiu-jitsuka.
I bet Acuña's throwing is solid, but his technique here is weak.
