Massachusetts is a bad example because it was state Democrats that actually made that health care bill and the state nearly went bankrupt because of it. The Federal government had to bail the entire state out because their universal health care system would have bankrupted them.

And you want the same people to design one on a national scale.

Hillary's health care bill back in the 1990's was not a Republican bill, it was a Democrat bill as well.

You're either talking about the two health care plans that Democrats created or you're making stuff up again. If Republicans actually did propose any type of universal health care plan, it was probably in response to a plan that they couldn't support by Democrats.

However, Hillary pushed for a health care package when Bill was president. 1993 sounds like it could be the year. Massachusetts Democrats created a state universal health care that nearly drove the state bankrupt.
