Do NOT get this for gaming. I didnt get it for that purpose at first but if you get it for that reason you will have to play most newer games on the lowest settings and still have to worry about very low fps.

@CraynLite I play WoW on it. It's horrible, trying to get a calculator to play on, it would be better than this. You can run WoW on low settings with about 50 fps, anything higher will make you lag.

I have the gateway NV5922h. Have you had any over heating issues? I bought mine around 3 months ago, from the source, and it gets really hot. This has been happening for a while...it could have been this way since I got it but I'm not sure. The fan doesn't seem to be spinning very fast and I can barely feel any air coming from the vent. My friend did a fan speed test and it said it was spinning at 30%...I'm not sure if that is correct but it sure seems that way. Any way yeah :(
The one complaint I have about this laptop is it heats up too quickly. The fan place is terrible on it and you can expect your CPU to run in the mid 80's to high mid 90's. I would strongly advise if bought to buy it along with a cooling pad, or do what I have done; put two books to raise it off the surface. Over all its a great laptop, good for mid tier gaming, work, school, movie watching and a few other things I can't remember at the moment.

I'm watching this video on the same exact laptop your showing. I just wanted to know what other thought about it. I thought it was great. The only thing is that it comes with a graphics card not good enough to play new games like gta 4. It runs sims 3 well though. I would like to upgrade my graphics. over all good laptop.
@cheucklate It's actually fairly decent. I've made some pretty sweet pictures with Photoshop using my webcam. But the video quality on it is very disappointing. That's pretty much expected though, from a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

@erezyerushalmi Yeah, the internal mic is very low quality. What I recommend is picking up a $10-$20 microphone from a gadget store. Or you can use a Rock Band microphone like me.
@44rodarana Yeah, that is kind of a con with this computer. To prevent it as much as possible, make sure that the fan in the back is completely exposed to air, so that it can cool off the internal hardware. Otherwise, it may damage it or possibly ruin it.
I got my first one refurbished at Tiger Direct for $409 .But then I saw that BestBuy had it for $439 and I bought it instantly and I returned the refurbished back to Tiger Direct.The only problem I get is that when ever the WIFI cant access several blocked routers, the whole thing just turns black and I have to restart it.

@dinkydo53545 You're very welcome! As for cooling pads, I'm not very sure. I'll have to get back to you on that one. But, this laptop isn't so hot that you need a cooling pad. The max temperature I would say it gets to is about 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. But, that's probably because my house is so hot during the Winter. :D

Great lap top. But I just got a Virus and I cannot get online. I can still upload photos and files and listen to music on itunes. However, I cannot access itunes to purchase music.
@1CRU1 Well, because your internet is disabled, you can't download any free anti virus software, so I guess you'll have to buy software at Walmart or a computter store. Walmart sells the full version of AVG for $40, and it also includes internet security (Spam filters, anti-phishing, E-Mail scanners, etc.). I recommend you buy that software. Otherwise you should take it to a computer repairman. They all have secret ways to get rid of viruses, LOL. :D
@TheSkyWhale Hmm. That's odd. Although, if it does work, a light doesn't really make a difference- it just makes it look awesome. If the light isn't working, you should show it to a computer repairman, and see if there isn't a loose wire or something. Or he may even give you a new lightbulb to go inside.

@juanbtf I really don't know, man. That's really strange. I would first call Gateway, and see if they can't tell you how to fix it through the phone. Then, if they won't help you, take it to a local computer repairman. There may be something wrong with the hardware inside the computer.
the touchpad is a tad sensitive.. and I would also say the screenie comes loose rather easily.. I have this laptop too and it is indeed really good I'm pleased with it those are just two things that bother me about this laptop xD
@Genababiina Yeah, but you can use a mouse if the touchpad is bothering you. All you need to do is deactivate the touchpad and your mouse should work just fine.
I just bought one 2months ago.. I really like the gateway laptop i have a NVseries just like in the video but mines blue.. It has a reasonable price and a powerful specs, but the Dvdrom only plays original Cds and software though.. well anyways all in all for me gateway is nice.. :)

@dinkydo53545 You're very welcome! As for cooling pads, I'm not very sure. I'll have to get back to you on that one. But, this laptop isn't so hot that you need a cooling pad. The max temperature I would say it gets to is about 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. But, that's probably because my house is so hot during the Winter. :D

@oshilzl No, that's not true. It works very well for me. Most of the people who claim that usually do stupid things with it, such as dropping it, letting it get too hot without exposing the vents to the air, or something they're not supposed to. I wouldn't worry about them.

Great lap top. But I just got a Virus and I cannot get online. I can still upload photos and files and listen to music on itunes. However, I cannot access itunes to purchase music.

@1CRU1 Well, because your internet is disabled, you can't download any free anti virus software, so I guess you'll have to buy software at Walmart or a computter store. Walmart sells the full version of AVG for $40, and it also includes internet security (Spam filters, anti-phishing, E-Mail scanners, etc.). I recommend you buy that software. Otherwise you should take it to a computer repairman. They all have secret ways to get rid of viruses, LOL. :D

@TheSkyWhale Hmm. That's odd. Although, if it does work, a light doesn't really make a difference- it just makes it look awesome. If the light isn't working, you should show it to a computer repairman, and see if there isn't a loose wire or something. Or he may even give you a new lightbulb to go inside.

@ComputerTekkie Actually you just have to mute your whole computer to actually turn off that sound. Im actually using it and its a great heads up if your in class taking notes and some drop out steps on your power cord.

@juanbtf I really don't know, man. That's really strange. I would first call Gateway, and see if they can't tell you how to fix it through the phone. Then, if they won't help you, take it to a local computer repairman. There may be something wrong with the hardware inside the computer.

the touchpad is a tad sensitive.. and I would also say the screenie comes loose rather easily.. I have this laptop too and it is indeed really good I'm pleased with it those are just two things that bother me about this laptop xD

@Genababiina Yeah, but you can use a mouse if the touchpad is bothering you. All you need to do is deactivate the touchpad and your mouse should work just fine.

I just bought one 2months ago.. I really like the gateway laptop i have a NVseries just like in the video but mines blue.. It has a reasonable price and a powerful specs, but the Dvdrom only plays original Cds and software though.. well anyways all in all for me gateway is nice.. :)
