Someone else went through all of this for most his life. and then he died at the hands of his peers, for spreading unpopular ideas, he was spit on, assaulted, abused, called names, and finally murdered. Who was he? The almighty GODs only son: Jesus Christ the Messiah.
He did it for YOU. So that you can enjoy an eternal life without all this pain and suffering.
@RenixCherokee Get the fuck out of here with this cheep bullshit. Nobody wants to listen to it. You propably don't know a damn about what this poem is about. Fuck you.
@RenixCherokee I agree with you. Everybody have all those feelings more or less, and its good so long its just a phase to figure out what you are and what youre not. Im sensitive one and I feel needed.
@TheRealJohnSkinny It's not that I haven't, he often makes stops here in Philly, I just associate "Spoken Word" with physically seeing it live. I also have the book he wrote this in that's why assumed it was an "Audio Book" becuase of the digital recording.
@NecroticSuffering The name is a scar not a tribute. I was wrongfully implicated in a plot similar to that and it changed my life. I use the name to make sure I never forget that experience.
this is so amazing! there is so much honesty and careness in it! the sound of NIN just fits perfect with the words of rollins! this gives so much 2 me and i think it can give much power 2 others! a power to handle through the own ways of problems, emotions, and negative selfdefinition.. for going new ways and let the trouble behind you.. to relearn to believe into yourself and accept yourself in all ways. to receive the power for getting a healty self-confidence that they once took from you!
You CANNOT go from NIN's A Warm Place to whatever the fuck that was at the end. Please re-edit with a different song, or even silence (which might be more conducive to the pensive moment that the words bring you in to).
Over all, this is a nice piece with good pacing of the cinematography to the audio tracks. It is unfortunate that the date/time overlay is there, and the guy looks like he has a hickie, which doesn't fit the character of a supposed loner. Also, I agree with some of the other respondents that the credit role music is in direct contrast to the rest of the piece. I would have gone with some more low intensity NIN, as a an example.
Dude. You TOTALLY missed the point of the spoken-word piece. You focus on two main characters and then have them get together? The piece was about SOLITUDE. About finding yourself, the only clear image amidst all the bullshit.
And then you have some cookie cutter color-by-number shitty pop emo band right after? God have mercy on your soul.
This is really truly beautiful, thank you for making this, the song along with the spoken word is perfect and the video absolutely conveys the feelings in the piece. I love it and I'm glad I came across this.
Is this Rollins poem or wha. I've heard it before but felt it LONG before.I want to think Rollins rocked it, i often feel what he rocks out. Damn...if you are feeling this now...I did...and a know what it is to wake up next to a beautiful woman (my descision, not someone else's)...
Wish I had this when i felt that way...LUV...
You are never alone, when you haven't given up, yet you cling to as little as you can.:-)
Interesting mashup between Rollins and Nails. Very delicate yet simultaneously ferocious and blunt.
I enjoyed it, but the mood that is set is completely dissolved by the crash of pop music at the end and actually kills whatever you were aiming to accomplish.
This video was very well done. It captured the theme of the music and words perfectly. When I first read this work, I felt that Henry's words were trying to convey a sense of isolation, and caged anger, not necessarily lashing out with violence. I am very impressed by this. Excellent job!
OK, may i add that this was a one shot movie, with zero rehersal? :D we got no manuscript, and the filming took 2 days 45 minutes each day, so i understand if someone dont like the movie. anyways, it wasnt my movie, im just the guy in it. and to the guy saying the chick is attractive, thanks she is my girlfriend ^^ aaanyways, the end that noone seems to understand, its all about humour, easy way to make your teacher give u a better grade on your project around here (: dunno if it worked
great track! but the video is terrible, their was no rage, only emo-christian-rock-video-staring-off on the beach. A blank screen would have been better.
Fatuates not even a word.. Sometimes I wonder if some people even understand the full meaning of important songs and spoken word like this and that song by VNV nation - LEft behind... I mean, if you translate the lyrics wrong, then you don't know what he's saying, and if you don't know what he's saying, then what exactly do you think he's saying? Are people just fans because it's cool or something? There seem to be more and more posers than people who actually care about what they listen to..
Hey. I'm pretty sure that he says "You couldn't figure out what they saw IN the way they live" but every lyrical translation of this I find on the internet is "You couldn't figure out what they saw AND the way they live".. Does anyone know what it really is? I'm pretty sure it's IN and not AND.. Not that it's extremely important.. It just irritates me when people do this.. Like that song by VNV nation where he says "That which awaits you" and everyone thinks it's "That fatuates you".
ugh... I didn't listen to the end when I made that comment. I thought he was talking about the NIN song in the background.. Ya, that emo pop shit at the end is bullshit and stupid, and kinda ironic, and shouldn't have been put right beside something very deep and meaningful like this.. Sorry for the mistake. please vindicate my thumbs back to neutral :)
