But I've seen dozens of drag racing accidents by someone holding the steering wheel up too high and a little too much pressure down (usually while shifting) sends the car veering to the left.

I own a 92 tt, stock 300zx vs stock supra result might be same. Stock zx with 20 psi not posible. Turbo only good for 16psi, injector good for around 11 pound, engine block stock could blown any day passing 16psi, if you drive normal it ok but if you pushed too much it gona give out. 2jz engine can handle much more boost n power. That 2jz diffinately running more than 10psi. the way it pull 10psi not possible. the 300zx 19psi is a joke. 19psi on a good turbo give that 300zx atleast 550rwhp.

@pimpinmoms I cant keep up with your comments so ill try to answer, its irritating when people try to "tell" me what they read. The fact is ive done it, many times over with many Z's. Everybody's setup is different so different results are expected. Ive had stock turbo Z's on the dyno stop making power after 14psi, and ive had them make more power up to 18psi. Why? same turbos.
BTW the VG Z in this vid is driven daily, beat on ALL the time, always has 110oct, and is always at 19psi
19lbs of boost on stock turbos? Stock Z T25's are only efficient until 15 psi after that they are garbage it changes nothing that you are pushing them to 19 hell you can spin them to 25 if you want but its not gonna make much more power then @ 16psi, I also have a Z32 and I have owned it, driven it, and worked on it for 7 years
I owned a 95 TT 5 speed Z32 and I did everything but upgrade the turbo's and intercooler and my numbers were 409rwhp with 415lbs of torque on 19psi using race fuel. I have also owned a lot of Supra's and really never looked back at the Z. So installing a 2jz rather then upgrading the VG would be the best thing to do if you have the time, money and patience.
this is a badass swap and honestly one of the cleanest ones ive seen. but you realy cant compare them to each other stock for stock. u said the 2jz has 1k cc injectors the vg came with 370. the 2jz is a full standalone with a pretty decent turbo. throw some injectors on the vg and that thing will haul, the injectors are the limiting factor on vg, they go full cycle at around 15 psi, and they cant keep up. thats just my 2 cents im not hatin on this i realy like it the 2j sounds badass.

@jonathandavis04 on a really twisty tight track you will have more understeer than the v6 as obviusly the 2jz is longer so more weight over the front but with a good suspension setup you wouldnt notice

20psi off of the little bitty T22-T25 stock turbos is not much especially on a stock block, injectors, intake, exhaust.....assuming the mods were listed. I get plenty of ponies out of my VG so anything extra is next to useless. At 30psi I put nearly 800 to the wheels. At 20PSI it runs 11 second 1/4 miles. No use having HP that you cant hook up with. FYI fully built motor, drive train, suspension ect.

What kind of radiator are you using? I've been researching this swap (even the forum that you posted the car on). Every picture is different with the radiator. I see an aftermarket (thicker) koyo or mishimoto style radiator and I also see an OEM radiator.
In this video it looks as thought it's OEM. How's the cooling with it? is there enough clearance between the crank and the radiator to mount fans to pull air through?

Chriskrazy you're a fucking retard. That "turbo sound" you're hearing is called a wastegate, the less boost you run, the more the wastegate sound, because it has to divert more exhaust air in order to keep the turbine wheels from increasing in rpm. IE he probably is running low boost with such a loud wasteagate sound. Telling boost by a BOV sound is impossible you faggot.

More boost will not automatically mean a faster car if it is a poorly designed turbo system. That being said the vg30dett engine was not designed to run 20psi in a stock setup making it an inefficient system.

I'm sure a 300 with bigger turbo's would be able to match up, but they'd have to be pretty big to match up running only 12psi. Both capable and brilliant engines, but the 2jz has a huge room advantage when it comes to bolting on big-boy turbos! Also, running 20psi on stock engine - I thought I was pushing it running 15-16psi on 100 octane!

@nickjlee The ECU has a chip socket and Z1 chip for the bolt on stuff but no tuning. Im really not making alot of power past 15psi with stock twins but its lasted 3 years so far! I really want to put a rb26 in it but the VG is holding its own! Each motor is different, i've seen stock VGs blow up at less boost. This one has just proven to be one tuff Biatch!

What kind of radiator are you using? I've been researching this swap (even the forum that you posted the car on). Every picture is different with the radiator. I see an aftermarket (thicker) koyo or mishimoto style radiator and I also see an OEM radiator.
In this video it looks as thought it's OEM. How's the cooling with it? is there enough clearance between the crank and the radiator to mount fans to pull air through?

Chriskrazy you're a fucking retard. That "turbo sound" you're hearing is called a wastegate, the less boost you run, the more the wastegate sound, because it has to divert more exhaust air in order to keep the turbine wheels from increasing in rpm. IE he probably is running low boost with such a loud wasteagate sound. Telling boost by a BOV sound is impossible you faggot.

no doubt the 2jz is a stronger motor.. but u can't compare a vg30 on stock twins vs a 2jz wit a s366.. those baby t25's lose efficiency after 15psi. lol i like how people on hear think that psi is a common measurement among turbo's.. 10psi on a efficient turbo that size is going to make a lot more power than 20psi in twin t25's...

sure was.... lots of timing. It saw up to 25psi with that setup and spun through 3rd.
car has a stock injector, computer, cam 1jz in it now as i sold the 2j setup for financial reasons.

More boost will not automatically mean a faster car if it is a poorly designed turbo system. That being said the vg30dett engine was not designed to run 20psi in a stock setup making it an inefficient system.

That bone stock internal 2j saw 24psi for 2 years and now is in a different z doing the same thing with no issues.

@Dieselboy350 Yeah but to be fair this supra has a big turbo strapped on. I'm sure a 300 with bigger turbo's would be able to match up, but they'd have to be pretty big to match up running only 12psi. Both capable and brilliant engines, but the 2jz has a huge room advantage when it comes to bolting on big-boy turbos! Also, running 20psi on stock engine - I thought I was pushing it running 15-16psi on 100 octane!

@dlongmu I wouls also like to know the answer to this, caue if you have stock injectors and its not tuned (which im assuming it is, and has a stage 3 ecy) it would stlll try the engine out, cause those injectors or suppose to be running 80% at 14.5psi i thought? Please let me know~

@nickjlee The ECU has a chip socket and Z1 chip for the bolt on stuff but no tuning. Im really not making alot of power past 15psi with stock twins but its lasted 3 years so far! I really want to put a rb26 in it but the VG is holding its own! Each motor is different, i've seen stock VGs blow up at less boost. This one has just proven to be one tuff Biatch!
