  • I must admit, though i do not have anything like RA i used to get horrible hand cramps on my right hand (mainly coz i was quite young at the time) and it went away as soon as i lowered the bass a bit, to a sort of Flea kindof height... like i said i have no idea if that would help or hinder since im not you :/

On a less downy note i love ur playing its really good :)

  • girl bassists are hot!

  • Well done. Keep playing, too many people with your medical condition would just give up. Excuse me for saying this ma'am....but you got balls! :o)

  • @rhinoal lol thank you! Yea its one of the only things that keeps me going.

  • It's ok that a person never learns to do something at all, you always learn new things. But it makes me nervous that in all your videos says "me learning how to play.." and when you will play it without learning? just saying, you play very well by the way.

(sorry for my english, I'm from Argentina)

  • You've come a long way. Keep up the good work.

  • @pleased9 thank you! I've tried!

  • Its an improvement over the first video but you are still playing it wrong should be

  • Excellent!

  • I like the feel of the song. Nice work--solid. I also like your attitude about lupis and putting it into perspective. God bless! Keep playing bass.

    James

  • 3 years of playing has helped of course. Have you take any lessons?

  • Quite a good solution to not only keep your mind off your condition, but to start a good hobby, keep at it. I love playing the bass! I have a hofner icon and a fender mustang.

  • Your nose is cute!

  • only awesome

  • Only Awesome

  • I'm glad you are happy and healthy. Keep up the good work. Much love to you!

    Bradley

  • keep it up, one thing i notice from the first video to the next (3 years later, same song) is that the bass is closer to your chest. I always say play from the heart lol. keep the bass close to your chest it helps with everything. oh yea keep up the good work. you are great!

  • I love you, please marry me.

  • Hi Anna. Bravo, good fingerstyle ! You should check the legendary Francis Rocco Prestia, he plays with one finger on his left hand.... And never, never give up what you like !! It keeps you alive and strong !!! May the groove with you young padawane !!!

  • your amazing and a very strong woman keep up at it who knows what could happen.

  • you are good :)

    my sympathies for your pain

  • music beat every single pain and bad emotion, keep playing ;)

  • who the fuck is even hating? i only see guys commenting to stop hating, no one's actually hating...

  • you almost got it...

  • Is she still OK?

    Just wondering.

    Seriously, keep at it.

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 Thank you for asking. I got pretty sick for awhile & couldn't play bass at all. But I'm doing alot better now & back in the band & making new music!!!

  • Nice playing :)

  • this video is damn sexy. Sexy music, sexy player.

  • why do people go on youtube to watch covers of shit. This goes for all covers. Why should we care enough to watch someone sitting infront of a camera, playing song that probably a 100,000 other people can play. so dumb.

    such a waste of time.

  • @Theshamham are you expecting an answer? is this it? is this what you were expecting? why are you so angry? why so cynical? why do you care that one woman who loves music so much that all she wants to do is share it with THE WHOLE WORLD via this nifty site. is she in your way? why do you have to make her wonder why her music and her love isn't working on you. it makes her feel bad and it makes me feel bad and it makes other people feel bad too, even if only for a second.

  • @Theshamham i like watching covers to gauge a person's talent and then use that information to better myself as a musician. don't you sometimes just like sitting back and observing how someone does something to learn from it? so that you can kick aces and basses for all time, like a warrior bangturner?

  • Anna, You are quite simply AWESOME! You go GIRL!! The hell with the sickness ... don't let it get to you, do what you love and make it mean as much as you can.

You are in my thoughts and prayers!

    Peace love...

  • wow thats a crazy set up of amps

  • great cover, but i suggest upgrading the mic

other than that, everything was great!

  • if you have RA ,maybe a good idea to play bass on a synthesiser ,or start to play a bass trombone ,next to this ,,because eventually the bass wont be possible ,,and it would be bad if you couldnt make your music anymore

  • Lotsa hate cause A-holes that complain and moan about others are the ones that never make it..........negativity is a plague numb skulls!!! remember the rules, what you send out will eventually come back to you!!

  • I'm a bass player with lupus too. (9 months bass player with 14 years lupus)

    You're cool. Keep playing.

  • Very nice job! I agree that fun while playing is all that counts. Keep it up!

  • awesome, keep playing! :)

  • nicely done...

  • marry me? +_+

  • Why oh why do you just not shut up everyone ? Like really ?First of all music is not something to make peoples hate each other but to LOVE each other share ideas and ways of life etc. This girl (Coz musicians never get old no matter what happens) Plays the bass regardless of her disabillity and that is what it makes her special ! She keeps doing what she likes to do while fighting her Illness that shows great courage and determination as well as love for music and you know this just wonerful!

  • im already fell in love to you.....can u be my gf??

  • Good cover!

  • I hate musicians that hate on others and say they sound like shit when they are too scared to post a vid of themselves for rude comments, this girl has an amazing talent and no im not just saying cause i think shes cute, she is adorable but also has a talent that not other many people have. So lets not talk shit to people unless you have a way to back it up. i play guitar and bass guitar along with like 5 other instruments, so all you haters back off her. Your just upset you cant do it yourself.

  • your actually good i think they're talkin to u like dat cuz ur a chick.

  • hah im playing bass right now and itunes wont allow me to play the song in my library so i went to youtube to look up the son and i see a bass cover!

    props fun song

  • @jesuschrystler44 Good idea!

  • @emusedone im already fall in love with you......can u be my gf??? XDXDXDXD KEEP IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!! IM A BASSIST TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUSIC LIGHT UP MY LIFE

  • Nickel wound strings you need! and your amps have a sensitivity to bass turn the bass down to give it a more natural sound :D other than that you rock

  • I LIKE TRAIN.

  • The sound may not sound good, but you're good and skilled, ignore your haters, I have many on my videos, too, and it's normal. @emusedone, keep rocking, greetings from Mexico!!!

  • It all sounds and looks great to me emusedone and I just love your philosophy on music! I think Misskrumpin has it right ;o) I would disagree on the being too old to play guitar though.... I'm 50 and love having fun on bass, guitar and drums (obviously not all at the same time:o) .... even now started learning piano and reading music .... it's most definitely never too late!!

  • very well done & i noticed ur using some of the other fingers, but u need to try & learn to space ur index, middle, ring & pinky fingers on the frets...of course i knw ur painful dilema jus take it one day @ a time..wish i could've viewed ur first video sooner, but is never to late!..u knw the saying: "practice makes perfect"!..believe me i've been their too & im still trying to make work!..much LOVE to ya playing "emusedone"! ;o)

  • This is a good cover! Though i did notice some wrong notes, you did a great job. When learning songs, i refer to Songster. It helps alot!

  • Good choice in amps. My 1975 B-3000 is at Carvin at this time for repairs.

Keep at the bass. Let all of the idiots make their jokes until they need a bassist when they want to play.

  • WT... I like how you play the bass but.... I recommend you

that.. if you'll made a cover of a song.... made it COMPLETE... ;) Is just my opinion... You Play Well C:

  • How can musicians hate each other? Damn, relax people.. show some love brothers..and sisters....

  • @MrBassakos I agree MrBassakos, so much hate I don't understand?

  • @emusedone dont let anyone make you feel sad... And dont give up whatever you ar doing... Just do it because you want to...

  • Wow r u guys serious u dont like this deep bass i think it sounds kickass

  • you're getting there :D

  • keep it up

  • For that matter age has nothing to do with anything! Music is the ultimate form of self expression! It comes from the heart and soul, and should be shared and enjoyed by all!! I still sometimes get goose pimples or even cry when I hear a really good piece of music!! It is so satisfying !! So I want to say to that real cool lookin lady playin bass, ROCK ON!! sorry if this post appears twice but I wasnt sure if the first one was entered right so I posted again, because I think this is important!

  • I am 54 years old and am still amazed at the stupid comments people make of other people who are trying their best at something they love to do. I still say screw you to those people!! I think this woman sounds and looks so cool!! Please dont let ignorant people or some physical condition stop you from reaching your goals! I started playing bass when I was 16 but didnt stick with it, only playing every so often. But now I am determined to practice more! Age has nothing to do with playing music!

  • It's very easy insult people through social networks. I feel ashamed to some comments saying unpolite things about you. Remember that men MUST be a gentleman with girls.

Emusedone, keep rocking and practising. you did it great :)

  • Niceness.. Even though the bass is an easy instrument to play.

  • your bass sound like shit

  • @Rorro6Strings Okee Dokee!

  • @emusedone try improvising over the song with what key the song is in's scale

  • @Rorro6Strings you are some wicked live ass shit. stfu

  • @Rorro6Strings It's probably the camera, not the bass. I'll bet the camera can't handle all the low end.

  • @Rorro6Strings and your speaker is a calculator :)

  • @Rorro6Strings dont be hatin bitch.

  • @Rorro6Strings your response sound like shit

  • @Rorro6Strings Says the guitar player.

  • @Rorro6Strings He has a point, but I think it's your recording gear letting you down - your playing is fine (better than mine, anyway), but it sounds really muddy. Try recording off of a line output instead of through a mic, if you have one. And, upload in 1080p for better codecs.

  • @Rorro6Strings nice bro.........you can go kill yourself now

  • You are amazing and i hope you keep playing!! You have haters because they wish they could do what you can!

  • keep rockin! Fuck RA!

  • I am 56 years old and just learning the bass. I have arthritis in my right hand. So I understand the pain. Still I love learning and playing. More power to you. Besides your a whole lot better then I hope to be.

  • Very nicely done. I'm late 30's and just started playing bass about 3 weeks ago. You are doing a fantastic job. Keep it up!

  • As long as you really feel something in the music, get into it! Add more energy into the music and make the cover more interesting to watch.

  • You suck.

  • @Macsk8ing *YAWN*

  • @Macsk8ing shes disabled and plays bass better than you skate.

  • Good playing. I don't have to tell you to keep going - I know you will. After playing bass for many (30+) years, there's no plan for me to stop or find another career, either. It's the instrument that has it all, mostly rhythm and harmony. If you haven't already, check out James Jamerson. His stuff should make a lot of sense to you.

  • cool vid ! I share your pain (RA), but like you, I work around and through it. keep on BASSIN".............:)

  • Love it keep up the good work!

  • OMG thats pretty frikin good @emusedone you are awesome!! :)

  • did you start with guitar or just started with bass first?

  • Everyone hating on this woman shut up!!! This woman is amazing for what she has been able to do. @emusedone you are awesome and keep at it your love for music is inspiring hope I am half as good as you in a couple years

  • @Misskrumpin Hey Misskrumpin, thank you for your nice comment. I get alot of haters on here but I ignore them because the nice ppl like you outweigh the haters. For them to actually sign in & take the time out of their precious day to type negative comments & to hate on me is just wasting time they could be doing other things, like community service, or WOW, or searching youtube for other ppl to hate on! But I really appreciate you sticking up for me. I'm sure you are as good now!

  • Awesome Anna, never to old to start something you love, I'm 37 and just picked up the bass 5 months ago, I love it, and I have played on stage already, it is a rush, Looking for a band now to jam. Never give up.

  • i admire you & you've just showed me that learning the bass is not a lost cause, even for me :) thanks

  • great job. ill keep a looklout for more of your vids. anyway, ur doin a great job, keep it up!

  • Absolutely excellent bass player! Keep it up!

  • Hey sweet! You're doing great!!!

    Congratulations!!!

Bass is the best! No doubt!

  • old is the wind and still blowin! Regards from Argentina!

  • :) good job. only problem was the recording tool, but since yo0ur a bassist not a sound technician i think you did your job of playing bass impecibaly

  • you have a great fat sound on that bass, great stuff. Learn some Motown bass lines and you'll be in business .Many them are simple since they do some much with so little (as well as the complex lines that seem like you need two brains to play them). Anyway, keep on plucking. Very cool...

  • peavey and ampeg, nice. i used to run about the same setup as you, only i had the cirrus and not millineum. if your ever looking for a bass that has a little easier play-ability you should look at a warwick corvette. i noticed you said you had arthritis in another vid so i thought i might give my suggestion. nice playing though.

  • cute girl + bass + incubus bass cover = epic

  • congrats!! youre an inspiration for us!!

  • @Wargargble Too old to play guitar? No such thing. Only a wet-behind-the-ears puppy would make a comment like that.

@emusedone I have been using bass as therapy for quite a long time now, but only more recently for arthritis. Hope you are doing well.

  • i love yoooouuuuu :DDD great job!!! keep up the passion!!

  • nice job! nice to see a girl take interest in bass. not sure about that too old to play guitar comment. les paul played guitar up until the time he died. he was quite old.

dont listen to the comments. just do your best!

  • that fingering is a bit sloppy, u still need a bit more practice and a few lessons on how to place your fingers and your left hand.

  • The age doesn`t matter, as long as you play with heart and passion, is music...

  • soo nice!! XD

  • It totally does help! I used to have horrible stage fright, now Im starting a band with my friends!

  • Thats awesome I love your pushing forward attitude about your illness and also your passion for playing your instrument! I don't know if its just my ears or something but theres a note mostly in the intro that I'm earing that doesn't quite seem right... I could be wrong but make sure your all tuned and ready to go before playing ^_^ I don't want sound like I'm dissing you by all means I'm not!

  • I'm a fellow bass player, and I just wanted to say that your story is incredibly inspirational. Technology has made it so that it is incredibly easy for people to compare their musical skills to others - so much so, I think, that chops and technicality have become the center of attraction where it shouldn't always be. Music is about heart, about character, and above all, about expression - something you do effortlessly. Keep on rocking, much respect from this fellow musician. ~Lonàn.

  • you progress a lot from 2007 to now!!! sorry 4 my english =P there is not much bass player girls or like i like to say B'PLYR!!! i'm a b'plyr too so i send you claps good viibrations and hugs from MÉXICO!!!! Cya!!!

  • Good stuff, sister... :-)

  • I liked your teenager version better.

  • Hi, i jut saw your video, im 25 and i have bought my first bass and started to take lesson because of you, thank you so much, you inspire me. for real !!!

  • emusdone your not too old to play, no one is. Everyone can get a chance to rock out. If you see Jimmy Page for example he played at such an old age. You are really talented and I think you are amazing! Well done.

  • top lady

  • no one is too old to play guitar...age doesnt matter at all

  • Keep it up, hell I'm 25. And I wish I could do what you could do. Love the Bass, Who cares of age. What matters is your passion for the music. Heres to you! /cheers

  • I think its really cool that you can play bass with arhtritis. I had a stroke 3 weeks after buying a Gibson SG. I had to work, and work at weeks of therapy, and now I have my chops back. I admire you for how you play..

  • awesome! hope you upload more of your covers. Love your stuff :)

  • HELLO me have same - see how i play nothing can stop you

  • its a cirrus peavey?

  • RA is a Bitch I hope you find the right formula that works best for you. My wife[Ex-wife now] has RA and was using some horrible pills that drained her energy, but she started using some shots that is made of I guess rabbits. Im not sure the exact medicine But its working for her and she is full of energy. and now my ex-wife. You are Really awesome, and a real talent you have. Keep it rockin'!

  • I dig the tone, and that is a peavey, no?

  • It's as simple as this... you rock \m/

  • Im a Bassist from Brazil, keep on rockin hunny uR doing great, ...NEVER SURRENDER!!!

  • Hey Anna, you and I could be soul mates - at least music soul mates. We both are learning to play bass and we both suffer from arthritis. We also have differences. You play elec bass and I play upright. I guess you to be about 1/2 my age (74). You seem to prefer hard rock while I prefer C&W, jazz, gospel, and old gold. The most obvious is you're a guy & I'm a gal. That's wrong! I'm the guy and you're the gal. I have severe arthritis in my hands and playing bass helpd keep my finger flexible.

  • KEEP ROCKING! YOUR AWESOME 8D

  • u rock!!!! love the tone.

  • good taste!!!

  • Hey Anna, my name is Jaime, i'm from Colombia, i have to salute you because you play great, i think that life put us in xtrange situations to take us to better places. i'm a Nirvana fan, and i play electric guitar, i would like to play with you some songs, also think that you are pretty, sorry if i'm too honest with you, please write to me something...see ya...

  • So after three years you can't play this fairly simple song right? Okay then.

Whatever, I would think this was a good cover if I didn't play bass as well.

    Keep on keeping on.

  • hehe, i noticed your still doing the ring in the beginning so im glad i made my comment now lol, i dont feel dumb anymore yay! i also noticed the chorus u had wrong in the other video wasnt the chorus lol its the verse, and u have it right now, and i have a sneeking suspicion u had it right before also but i wasnt able to hear the notes, haha so ignore that, again great job!

  • Never stop rockin' ;) Keep up the good work!

  • you have tension in your right pinky and ring finger like I did. If you get in the habit of relaxing them, it will end your forearm cramps and some joint issues. At first just pull them under your hand, then just get use to relaxing them casually.

  • loved it. =)

  • you should play it higher up the neck. nice try.

maybe check out bass player mag feb 2007, the transcription is in there.

  • hemm, HI. MARRIE ME!

  • wo u r awesome and i hope you can look past ur desease and dont let people get to ya, ur actualy better than alot of other people

  • i know you have an illness and i dont want to come off as a dick but your very technical, you lack the " Groove" that all good bassists need, you need to work a little on moving when you play.

  • Bass guitar seems so easy.. Im playing acoustic and electric guitar pretty well.. and Im sure I can play bass as well as you.. Just saying.

  • bass is the funnest instrument ive played by far you can just go crazy on it and really dont have to worry about breaking strings! ROCK ON BASSISTS

  • lol u r 2 old 2 play guitar

  • @Wargargble yes, I probably am too old to play guitar, but not to play bass, notice I'm sitting down. When I in the nursing home in a wheel chair, if the Lord allows me to live that long, I'll upload vids of me playing bass in my wheelchair!

  • @emusedone u go girl!!

  • @emusedone you are not old too do shit!! dont listen to these dumbasses!! if you where a guy they wouldnt say those things..sexist pigs -_- you keep rockin..and both your vids are awesome keep doing you

  • @XxPoizonisskiszxX Thank you Poizoniss! I'll keep rockin & it's so nice to read positive comments like yours!!

  • @emusedone Youre not too old , you just got much experience in life , keep the good work !

  • @emusedone hey, don't listen to those a-holes putting you down. you play good, girl! keep it up. as long as you've got the heart, you should do it. keep it on.

  • @Wargargble What a stupid thing to say.

  • @Wargargble go tell that to vai, or satriani.. they're over 50, so?????

  • @Wargargble

Humm she still has better body then you whatever years old i bet, btw where is your instrument upload?

  • @luckypuckypucky I hate when people make fun of somebody's cover videos, but can't even play an instrument...

  • @Wargargble you´re never to old to play an instrument !

  • @Qzyify AMEN! And I am OLD! But I love being my age.....you can play at any age as long as you can hold the bass & remember your name! lol!

  • @emusedone you dont even have to remember your name, just how to play songs :)

  • @Wargargble you're too dumb to be alive

  • @Wargargble bass

  • @Wargargble what??? never such a thing as too old to play guitar :o lol

  • @Wargargble You never can be too old to play an instrument...Socka!

  • @Wargargble douchebag

  • @Wargargble i don't think her age is the problem here... more like... did your parents allow you to be on the computer??? you gotta do your homework first, right :D :D :D emusedone... keep on rolling baby ;) you got the stuff... God bless you infinately... you know... when they try to kick your butt... it means they're falling behind you ;)

  • @Wargargble

and you are too clueless about life.

  • @Wargargble you're slightly a douchebag, so your lack of approval is a seal OF approval.

  • @Wargargble

Dude...That was a dick move you made there! Asshole!

  • @Wargargble wow, thats the most stupid comment i've ever read....

  • Hit the strings a little harder.

  • wow, her old video got me to look at such big amps :0

  • i like it- nice and solid- keep up the awesome work- and do something with it! form a group- its so much fun- and to hide talent is no good- help the world- through your gift-
