I do see the article as having some information. They talk to two lawyers who say that things might be problematic. But there is no actual info yet. Giles and O'Keefe claim they had 100% success in their findings, but even Fox News has reported that the man in the video, Juan Carlos Vera, had actually reported the couple to the police after they had visited him. O'keefe is lying. If he was really interested in reporting the facts, he would at least point out examples of when his tactics did not work. It would actually help his own credibility (nobody has 100% success in ANY experiment, and most educated people know that).

On Sept 22, FoxNews reported that the man in the video, Juan Carlos Vera, had actually reported the meeting with Giles and O'Keefe to the police. He first met with his cousin, a police detective, & later contacted the National City Police about "possible human trafficking". That's a very important point, & in all fairness to Mr. Vera, it HAS to be included in any viewing of this footage. As FoxNews anchor Megyn Kelly stated on Sept 22, this man "did the right thing." That cannot be dismissed.

ancestralyuba, first of all, that is not a NYT article, that is an opinion blog at the NYT. Second of all, the blog does say that ACORNs initial statement is false, but it does not explain the fact that one ACORN office did file a police report about the couple a month earlier. So maybe the blog is not fully informed.
It also says that "It all seems pretty simple...." But then it says, "Or is it?" and goes on to quote numerous people explaining how it looks like exaggeration.

I read the Washington Post piece. It does not say much.
It looks like it says a lot. The impression it gives is that ACORN is in dire straights financially and that it is disorganized and may be engaging in questionable activities. But there is no actual evidence of any of this.

I do see the article as having some information. They talk to two lawyers who say that things might be problematic. But there is no actual info yet. If ACORN has had bad management, then hopefully they will get their act together. If they don't actually have systemic problems among their 700 employees in 79 cities, then fire the bad employees and move on.

I read the post by Doug Giles, and he says a couple of things that refute what the reporters said:
1. "they hatched their plan in May of 09, fine-tuned it from May 20th July 23rd, and then launched July 24th,"
Well it is possible that ACORN employees gave negative responses for these initial trial runs.
The Philadelphia incident, with the police called, was on the 24th of July. So one of the reporters must have forgotten this incident when he said he had not been turned away.

Obviously, this is the first time O'Keefe went to an ACORN office. He was obviously casing the joint to learn how they did things and what kind of security they had. He was not wearing pimp clothes. He probably did not even have a video camera with him. The incidence report says he caused a disturbance, not that they were upset about his plans.

By firing them, they have admitted guilt. It is my hope that all of the fired employees will turn state's evidence against their bosses. I see how you lack the ability to see how this wouldn't stand up in a court because of that fact and the fact that we don't know whether they were truly going to help them or not. People don't have to admit guilt to be fired. If a company suspects you of stealing from their cash register, they don't need much of any evidence, they can fire you for whatever reason they want.

If they release the full, unedited versions of the videos maybe. This only shows what they might have done, not what they would have done, or what they actually did do. Now if Juan Carlos actually waved his fifth amendment rights and admitted his guilt on national TV as you have said, then you have your proof in that instance. Either way, this is just a handful of acorn workers just as metricfoot said. It doesn't mean the whole organization is guilty.

Yes and I saw cut scene after cut scene where a lot of conversation was cut out. I did however get a chance to watch a full uncut video on fox news on the internet with another acorn employee. I see possibly a couple of rotten kids making some good, maybe not perfect people, look bad and lose their jobs and cause many poor families to go without houses just to try to make Obama look bad. in my blunt opinion, a girl is fair game to be tapped once she has her first period, loses her cherry, and can conceive. i think a girl should be legal at 14 or 15 years old since women seem to be fully developed at the age nowadays. i think women mature much faster than men as a rule and the 17 or 18 year law about a women being of age should be thrown out the window.
