(they look like they work, and it seems you promote them very well)

What size would be a good idea?

  • Hey there, can i ask what break strain line you use?

Im also looking to start fishing for large carp and catfish, theres a venue near me that has carp and catfish nearly the size of some your catching, what would you recommend?

And before you ask, im really not sure how clear the lake is lol

  • I use 20lb X-Line and 20lb-25lb amnesia and Korda IQ hooklinks

  • hey buddie um wat type of rods and bait u using

  • I use Greys Prodigys and for bait see the link for the premiumcarpfishing website in the description on the right

  • Hi there mate i usually fish the runs water next door to willow fished willow once this year but blanked. any handy hints buddy!!

  • Watch all 21 episodes as there is loads of info in them there episodes:)

Get on Red Berry or Goldfish boilies over half a ton of Red Berry has gone into Willow alone!

So the fish are right on it, you will not have to worry about bait using either of them.

You can get Goldfish boilies from the shop onsite at fenland fisheries, Cambridge Carp Cabin and online at the premiumcarpfishing website.

Keep it simple and fish close and to showing fish.

Have fun and be lucky fella.

  • Nice one Steve, the message on the end sounds like your finishing ? Dont tell me that ?

    Regards Kelly

  • Finished this series yes but plenty more fishing to come so no worries buddy

  • Nice one.

I was wondering if you ever fished the Ouse for carp? or if theres any in there?

  • dont! i have been saying i will get on the ouse for years now and have so far failed miserably to get myself down there.

yes there are carp in the ouse and lots too.

When it floods they swim in and out of all the lakes the litter the ouse valley.

    one day soon!

  • Nice one Steve. Looking forward to the next series.

  • I am familiar with corsework having spent five years at uni i never did any carp fishing in those five years!!

I met a lot of girls tho:)

  • Hi Steve

Know what you mean... I've not done any carp fishing during and since I finshed my degree, but meeting girls kind of compensated somewhat haha! Just out of curiosity what did you study at uni?

Great vids, I'm enjoying them hugely, and you've got me inspired to dust the rods down and get out there as soon as I can!

    Cheers :o)

  • I studied Computer Science at Cambridge for five years (and also worked as a part time lecturer in software engineering) and out of field modules of

Drama (failied! oh so bad as i got pissed on performance night and forgot all my lines!)

Psychology (only because of a girl i fancied)

    Geology (see above)

    ect, ect:)

Too many girls and i got my pick:) and the best time ever I have to say.

There are no secrets, only Knowledge.

  • Ahh right cool, similar to me-ish.. studied Motorsport engineering at Oxford brookes, (worked as a formula renault etc mechanic) and now a lecturer in it. As you say, best time ever at uni.. good times!

Think those Drama modules helped with the vids, you come over very professional and really natural, refreshing to see. I've learn't a few things too. Can't wait for the new series of vids Steve!

    Cheers :o)

Still the next series is somewhat different so hopefully it will keep you all tuned in.

  • A great set of vids! As always a pleasure watching your blogs and seeing someone having fun catching some lovely fish. I will have to try try Willow some time - thanks for details on how to book up.

Hope you're having a great summer of fishing... tight lines mate!

  • Cheers fella

I am having a good summer and do go and fish willow it's a great place.

  • Once again, fantastic video, awesome series. Good stuff through-out and some really nice fish you got into there.

I feel your pain with the snags man, we have been fishing the rivers here lately and some days with the rains and high water this year have seen entire trees float past. Not to mention the shopping carts, lawn chairs and everything else already present.

The fish are worth it, I just wish the waters were taken better care of. Anyway, I look forward to what you do next, good luck.

  • You will find that as carping becomes more popular the efforts of others will increase to ensure cleaner waters.

We are lucky in blighty to have some very clean rivers and lakes, mind you have a look at this film and the last for K33n3dy comments on his lake and the problems there....

    Cheers fella.

  • great angling and vids mate, i will have to do a trip down there some time. tight lines

  • Thx.

You will be made to feel welcome for sure.

Willow lake is a nice place to fish and Mike Hawes the owner is not only a very succesful carp angler in his own right (he had a new PB 43 lb mirror on Red Berry this year) but a throughly decent chap.

  • Another cracking blog mate!

im still trying to crack my 18lb pb but itll come.

    keep em up m8

  • Get on willow mate you will have no trouble cracking your PB there bud.

    Cheers fella.

  • gr8 series ste, well done on the fish 2,turned out to be a chronic argulus infection at my lake, hopefully that will die down as the cooler weather moves in

  • Argulus feed by first inserting a pre-oral sting which injects digestive enzymes into the body. They then suck out the liquidised body fluids with their proboscis-like mouth.....

    agggghhhhhhhh! nightmare!!

And no treatment either so lets hope they die off eh.

  • Brilliant videos. I live in NYC now. Not much carp fishing going on around here. So now I live vicariously through you and your videos. You really seem to capture the essence of carp fishing. Love it when you show us your food cooking! You should have more subscribers! Please carry on making these videos :)

  • NYC eh blimey thats about as far as you can get from a carp water in good old blighty eh bud.

    Thx for tuning in mate.

  • absolutely cool!!!!just please tell me that you have more vids in the pipeline!!well done....

  • Cheers plenty to come mate so no worries eh.

  • so you can not just turn up and buy a day ticket

  • No mate you have to book to fish Willow and it has a maximum of 6 anglers/24hours.

Go to the premium carp fishing website for all the details link to the right in description.

  • top angling steve, so many carpers just sit on their ass watching carp top all over and dont move. just show what a move can produce. Top series mate they just keep on getting better, cant wait for the next keep em coming :)

  • Thx fella

Trouble with taking all that gear is a move can be hard work which i think is not why some go fishing.

MrMartin is writing a book called

    "Are you Camping or Carping"

    lol

  • Well done Mr Steve , Quality ! keep up the good work , were all waiting for the next blogs mate

  • so whats next then steve ? more video's i hope

    dave n

  • Yep!

Pingles Pool one of Premium Carp Fishings lakes and some right nice fish.

Wait till you see the first one i get! what a corker:)

  • hi m8, i dont know how tru this is but ive been told that carp will always sit into the wind, mabee this iswhy the carp seem to only feed on 1 harf of the lake at a time, what do you think? great vids as usual

  • Some truth there but not always of course but mostly eh.

The wind does a number of things to the aquatic enviroment and as you know water has some very special properties.

Warm water and cold water do not intermix easily but rather slide against each other.

Warm water rises to the top and gets pushed.

Get a sunny hot day and a late wind and you defo want to be on the end of it.

Same as a New wind...get on that too..

It will be all in my book........one day:)

  • nice one matey how luky can u get 2 runs in minutes.

the best thing about ur vids is the more u fish the more i learn nice 1

  • hi m8, do you think it is luck or that its a good angeler? i think its the latter

  • thx for the compliment gary

I think luck is what you make it too and it's just a shorthand word we use when we are doing well, when we get it right.

Be lucky is a nice saying I use it a lot i think because for me it's a term of freindship, respect and camaraderie.

Thx Joe thats a nice compliment too I am pleased your learning from my films.
