Randy will be one of the most influential guitar players ever. It is stupid to compare Randy or Eddie to many players of the 90's and the 2000's. Those two are to this date the template of many guitar players. It's like comparing them to Clapton, Page or Hendrix. What they did is set a template for Eddie and Randy to play with. This two set the stage a bit higher and there are many that exceeded and a a big bunch that failed.

A legendary player creates the licks that everyone else wants to figure out and thats what Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Rhoads, Van Halen have done and continue to do.

Everyone is self taught, all a guitar teacher does is show them the basics and any player who is any good sits down with the instrument on their own and teaches themselves afterwords, just like all of your "self taught" guitarists. This Footage was AMAZING QUALITY the way it just sorta Poped up on E-Bay almost 25 years after Randy had passed away.Wish the Rest of it would surface.If you look the Whole 10min version of this clip is Online & has Randys name spelled wrong!The guy who was selling this had appearently other Rare stuff from different artists on the "Rare Compilation" this was from.I hope the show exsists after w/Ozzys interview that cuts off

@halcon7000 Randy is the ONLY guitar school grad that has come up with any cool riffs and songs.The rest like Vai,Satriani and Gilbert cant write a cool riff or song to save their mothers` life.I prefer the self-taught guitarists,they may not be technically as great but the creativity is waaay more evident.Randy was a champ ,he had the chops and the creativity. @crazylocoguitar dude get your fucken ears and eyes open. Randy Rhoads has WAY more fluency in his playing. You can see it and hear it. Satriani is really fucken good too of course. But too technical, all those years he was in university just made his a typewriter guitar player. If there was a guitar Battle between Rhoads and Satriani, Satriana would go home and play to a chart. Randy Rhoads had a far more vast outlook on guitar than Satriani did. RHOADS BEATS ANY GUITARIST. RIP

@wolfeman85 i think you miss the boat on your comment. Randy was influenced by the greats before him, and it shows in his playing. No different than Satch or Vai or Gilbert. One is not better than the other, that is subjective. They all play from what has influenced them, they influenced each other, they influence us. Bottom line , they are all great.

@PAULOcbi Its quite obvious you know nothing about playing guitar, or any other type of instrument. Everyone is self taught, all a guitar teacher does is show them the basics and any player who is any good sits down with the instrument on their own and teaches themselves afterwords, just like all of your "self taught" guitarists. Musical theory merely explains what people are doing when they are playing music, it is not how you are supposed to play music but the science behind it.

I got it from here' and the guitarist who attends guitar school evryday for 4 years straight?? YOU are the one knows nothing bout guitar.Theres a big difference between the cat that learns Phrygian Dom. on his own and the kid being taught,'this is PhrygianDom. And heres a lick to practice to get familiar with the mode'.. A BIG difference.
