only way you would need those gears is if you were hauling a bunch of weight. i've seen several stock cummins 6 speeds with a clutch haul 35000 pounds, with just an aftermarker clutch. with that much weight, the truck is no longer safe to use for hauling that much. its simply for coolness effect.

@mooseoftoose really take a look at the sleeper cabs, there are some in the millions, I was going for the high end of the cost, yes you can buy a non-sleeper for around $150K but thats still more then a few upgrades on a current truck. Look up the real prices and try again. I just spent 4 weeks buying a truck for myself, I got a decent sized sleeper for around $750K on a 30 year loan.

@goofyexponent try getting one that extended 6 feet, with a king size bed, solar panels on top so its cheaper at rest stops and heat and AC year round with less strain on the battery system, as well as being a full hybrid system, that adds the cash, but its worth it, operating cost are lower, repair cost are negligible, but its my home I don't own a house so its worth a few extra commodities for me.
