  • absolutely amazing, can I suck your dick for some of your powers pls?

  • 1:10 Looks away in disgust from the mess-ups.

1:15 Redeems self by making the bass his bitch.

  • this is really clean sounding, man, rough or not. good shit.

  • I just spent the past 3 days doing nothing but watching virtuoso bass videos on YouTube and I'd have to say that this one's probably my favorite. Fastest and most accurate playing I've seen thus far. Of course, all the props go to Victor for writing this piece, but I've never seen anyone play it with this kind of speed and facility before. Kind of scary, actually.

  • good tapping

  • i see your frustration, but enjoyed how well you do that...you rock!!!

  • could you possible send me the tabs for this song

    -thank you for your time

  • lol, what better way to test a cam

  • Very Nice, keep it up!

  • its hard to find a video of someone playing this song and playing it well. but you did it. good job.

  • Rough around the edges my ass! That was great!!!

  • Ho. Ly. Shit. I wish I could do that, but I suck with my thumb... Don't really practice it, haha. Nice fuckin job dude!

  • curse my 22 fretter! i totally need 24 for dis.

  • cara num baixo de 6 cordas.... essa foi foda. muito bom

  • the book says ad lib E arpeggio section...so maybe victor doesn't even know what he's doing there since he transcribed it himself lol

  • great!

  • Good show my man. I was wondering where u got ur music for this song. I have the victor book, but it doesnt have the multi finger tapping part ur doing.

  • from the looks of the bass and the uprights in the background i'd say he's a talented bass player and probably figured it out by ear. I'm guessing he also has an incredibly large penis.

  • @PumpkinDog33 you're a homo.

  • that's caprice no. 1 by niccolo paganini

  • bravo you are the best player ive seen so far

  • Very well done! Good job figuring out the way to use that technique so fast!! also, you play it very easily..

  • Yeah your gross

  • where did you get tab or other of that song?

  • and by the way, do you have a tab for this, because i need one that has the tapping solo, none have it, and i dont have the ear for it

  • barely any mess ups that was good

  • how much time do you pratice this song to get it good like this?

  • This shouldn't be, but for some reason this is really boring. Well played though.

  • what.the.fuck. you.are.god

  • freakin good job man, i've been trying to get that double thump technique down for sooo long and I just can't quite seem to make it work. It's great to see it's possible for someone other than wooten to be able to play that. gives me motivation to tray and get it.

  • awesome~

trb 6 pii with bubinga top?

both skill and bass are great

  • well played sir

  • You play it so effortlessly. You are really good.

and lol at "just testing my cam"

  • Pretty cool. I stumbled across this when

I googled myself (Joe Brittin). If you get

the chance to see the Joseph Filipow trio in

the Indianapolis area, the bass player,

Peter Brown plays a 7 string Conklin bass

that reminds me of your style. He said he

was having a nine string bass made next!!!

  • Dude...i have been playing bass for about 4 years now...and I've love watching Wooten play his great stuff...but it's amazing to see someone do it just as good and on a 7 string is just even better

Good stuff man you did a great job

  • except its a 6 string...

  • testing my ass, you wanted to post that because it sounds amazing.

  • Haha XD Nice!

  • i think that this is played brilliantly because it's not on a 4 string or even a 5' this comp' and the tech. of it is reliant on the thumbing of the G string and the high C' is not really in play and the low B is not played, so this is classical thump in the middle of the 6 string which is pretty darn GOOD! nice post.

  • This is trully outstanding, I make a living out of playing/teaching bass, Its one thing to see victor play this but victor is not of this planet! this performance commands the upmost respect of any musician worth his or her salt. Congrats on a fine performance and outstanding technique

  • Joe! It's Mat off the ship. You rock, my friend.

We supported Asbury Jukes tonight at holmfirth picturedrome! The hieghts we scale, eh?

  • Great technique, and despite what you may say, it's obvious you have put in a lot of work. If I may say though... watch your timing... it's one thing to experiment with different tempos, it's another to speed up and slow down simply through the parts that are more comfortable/uncomfortable. Having said that... truly amazing job.

  • it may be a bit rough but your audience will never be able to tell!

  • thats beast

  • Ridiculous speed. For a camera-test, this was quite cool.

  • this really inspired me.ive been in a musical slump for like the past year but watching this makes me want to practice and play.thank you!!!

  • lol paganini at 1.52.Awesome job.

  • Is that a Ken Smith? If so... how many organs did you have to sell to afford it?

BTW, sick job. Technically nearly perfect to the original recording in most spots.

  • i think its a yamaha trb. but what do i know @_@

  • sti cazzi!!!

  • too fast

just because its fast doesn't mean it's better

    props tho ^_^

  • Your Hating on his Skills!

  • lol no, he's great

but not the way wooten played it

  • Oh!

  • damn you! lol please teach me the double thumb technique i can't seem to grasp it :(

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOD!

  • this is really good, but u gotta have a better face when playing.

  • this is a little too fast, but otherwise amazing.

  • OMG My friend is called Joe Britton !!!

    lol

    xoxo

  • Wow a 6 string.

  • Yes very good but i agree, just a little too fast.

  • awesome

  • ur good

but that was a little to fast

  • LOL!!! pople even find it HARD to go THAT FAST and you tell him HE's TOOOO FAST???? lolz

  • I've got a TRB6Pii on the way. How you finding it?

    Very nice BTW

  • In my opinion, learn the technique first then worry about the tabs :D

  • Farkin' hell, Joe. BEAUTIFULLY done! What, no Rick Astley? Just kidding. Nicely done.

  • i can play most of that except the tapping part

  • Not bad at all!!but you should improve your timing an your rhymical language, that way youl understand your little mistakes.Congratulations

    David rosas (Mexico city)

  • I love the tapping part!

  • Do you play with a group or are you a student?

  • did you learn the whole thing from sheet music? and by that do you mean tabs or notation?

  • wow your trb sounds very good!!!

  • jesus friggen christ ive been playing 5 ears but i will never EVER get that good well fucking played

  • 5 yrs aint enuff

  • mikes a liar

  • Shitting fuck man, i hate you for being that good ^_^

  • ur the shit

  • best cover of this song ive heard yet

  • you know man. Ive been listening to this song since high school..2 years ago and still havent figured out the thumb patterns. you have the sheet music? Im sick of trying to ear out. Amazing job by the way.

  • I couldn't find the tabs for the ad lib section on google.

  • thats balls good

  • Have Fun !

  • since when is victor wootens little brother white?

  • Doesn't is little brother play guitar?

  • Reggie wooten does. Who knows if he is yonger or older. He looks older to me. Well this is a good vid. either way.

  • Regi Wooten is the oldest, in the middle are Roy(Future Man), Rudi who plays sax, Joe who plays keys and Victor is the youngest.

  • yep

  • Hey good job. Sounds Really Good. Do you think you could send me the score of the ad lib part to my mail or maybe a video or somthing, thatd be really cool. Thanks

  • The fast part is Paganini's 1st Caprice with a few measures taken out. The rest only uses and open A, open E, and frets 14, 16, 18, and 19.

  • gahh holy shit thats amazing

  • you should give the sinister minister and me and my bass guitar a go man!! well up to it!!

  • omg its guy sebastian

  • Dude, this is awesome!

  • omf i really can't believe you played that......i felt unworthy watching this, that was fucking amazing!

  • U DA MAN DUDE

  • amazing!!! best!!!

  • nice shit bro

  • i wonder what he's got his mind on.

certainly not the amazingly fast bass playing.

  • Plays a lovely 6-string bass and is capable of double thumping whilst pouring out a glass of milk at the sime time for afterwards...awesome! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

  • That's a sexy bass :)

You should also post a vid of you playing one of those double bass in the back

  • good job bro!

  • wow...................................wow

  • GREAT! ne tips for thumb playing =]

  • NICE!

  • "Bit rough around the edges"? Give yourself more credit, dude. That was great.

  • So funny how like the entire song he just stares at his left hand and blinks every so often. And to think he was just testiong out his camera...

  • joe! that's awesome! i have the exact same bass as you by the look of things! chek out the videos! how long have you had your bass?

(left the previous comment from the wrong account...)

  • joe! that's awesome! i have the exact same bass as you by the look of things! chek out the videos! how long have you had your bass?

  • Of course he could pull it off on a four string, it is harder to play on a six string because you have to mute more strings

  • yeah, but victor does it on a 4 string, i mean, you're take on it is amazing, but could you pull it off on a 4 string?

  • Awesome!!!!!! Very nice!!!

  • Fucking...Awesome...I play the first 30 seconds fluently then I just fuck up.

  • Same here,Its not an easy song

  • ha ha ha ha we know whos been on LSD, take away his towels and he can do that, freaking hell

  • 2:11-2:49 i cant find anywhere, can you send me tabs?

  • your fucking good

  • very nice. But slow down a bit buddy and dont come of the ryhm!!

  • Is hat a Peavey Grind Bass

  • thank you

  • toooooooo faaaaaaaaaaast !!! slow it down a little and you'll sound much better

  • nice, you're a stud

  • Is the string spacing nice and wide on your Yamaha? I find the spacing on my 6 a little narrow for stuff like this.

  • oh, and what kind of bass is this?

  • Seems to me a Yamaha TRB6PII

  • thats actually cleaner than victor's version lol

  • Vic would even be in awe good job

  • its awsome really great job

How long have u been playing? and where did u study?

  • sounds great man. the only thing i could say is that you started to rush going into the hader parts. thats most likely the reason for the very few mistakes you made. i have the same problem. you're a great player man.

  • i think this is really fantastic. you've done a wonderful job with this piece and i think you're great at what you do.

  • Mierda, no habia visto cosa tan impresionante por alguien que no fuera Wooten mismo. Just amazing, havent seen anything like this, since wooten, youre just great, where or haow did you got there??

  • I'd love to have that string spacing on my bass D: i just didnt want to slap when i bought it...

Duede, this is amazing! The best classical thump cover out here! 5 stars for sure.

  • I got same bass too ...

    Great ...

  • That Was Absolutely Amazing! That is With Out A Doubt The Best Victor Wooten Cover I Have Ever Seen! I Want To See You Do It On That Upright-Bass Ya Got In The Corner There!

  • Thanks a lot... you just made my head explode, dammit. Seriously, though, that was awesome. Practically flawless.

  • :-O you're really good.. did you have a tab?

  • Incredible. Great sound.

  • hey man, this is really good. really really good. what kinda strings do you use? and what gauge are they?

i'd really appreciate it if you could get back to me.

    cheers

    dan

  • Thanks rushrule. I use Rotosounds swing '66. Couldn't tell you what guage, generally whatever the shop has in stock since sets for six'ers aren't that readily available most places.

  • cheers dude. thanks for the quick reply. i play a sixer myself. havnt loaded up any videos yet. victor wooten is so fucking good. ive got two of his dvds. so influential. got any other influences man? i'd be intrested to know.

    take care man

    dan

  • good job. what sorta bass is that? by the looks of things it seems it has a good action

  • It's a Yamaha TRB 6P2.

    Cheers,

    Joe

  • Damn Homie that was Some SICK as bass playing. Keep it up

  • very nice

  • FANTASTIC!

like others said: it was kinda rushed, but sounds beautiful.

    awesome job man!

  • fantastic

  • thats awesome, only criticism was a few parts in first half seemed a bit rushed. Anyway, better than my attempt.

  • awesome

  • wow! great work!! awesomeee

  • awesome job man

  • Master, when you play those classic pieces, do you adapt them on your six strings or do you play them on the e-a-d-g strings ? Thank you, and...I'm chuffed. Flabbergasted, etc.

  • You're too kind daemon. I just use the middle four.

  • Absolutely amazing...I am frustrated !

  • cheers!

  • If you give me your e-mail I'll send it to you. It's a pdf but I haven't got anywhere to host it.

  • Hey Joe !

My Name is Otto. I live in Munic in Germany. Iám

verry fascinated from your Tapkadency. I stard

Tapping for a year, and i try to find the kadency

out, but no cange. Have you wrote it down, and is it possible you send it to Otto Lippelt 81369 Muenchen

Germany Albert-Rosshaupter-Str. 74 Thanks a lot and keep on grooving Otto

  • Hi Otto.

I have that section written out. Can I send it to your e-mail instead?

    Joe

  • Hey Joe!

e-mail adress in youtube does not role.

But i have found the pice in classic literatur.

It`s the start of caprice op.1 from Paganini,

maybe a new source for all Monsterbasstapper/in

Many Thank`s for your Feedback keep on pushing

    Otto

  • any chance of writing out a tab for the part between 1.45 to 2.09 its the only part of the song i cant get r cud u tell me where u got ur tabs (if you used them)

  • I'll try and do it tonight, if I get a chance. I learnt that section by ear but never wrote it down.

  • are you human my friend???

  • is that a pedulla?

  • That was Amazing...

  • DAMN! i mean if that doesn't get you laid. . . Nothing will. That shit was like unnatural amazinly dominant. Im not gonna lie. All i have to say is that is the definition of BEAST!

  • Getting laid from playing bass? You have to be kidding me.

    Great bass playing though.

  • Awesome man, and you do it with such a cool face! Damn!

  • HOLY SHIT YOU ARE AMAZING

i wish i was as good as you

but like wackjob7 said, if you slow it down just a little bit (not too much), then it will sound better and have a better feel to it

    but still, your amazing

  • maestro comotoca asi

  • Good job. But if you are gonna tackle this piece, which you obviously have, I would suggest that you slow it down a bit. Sure it's fancy to play fast, but this tempo just ruins the feel. An important part of classical is feeling and you sounded great but you really just didn't have feeling..Good job though

  • i hate you!

    it was awesome! too awesome.

  • not to be harsh, i think you did a great job, but vic didnt play it on a 6 stringer

  • Whats him using a six stringer got to do with it?

he only uses four of the strings

  • Cause victor wooten has a tenor bass, it uses the "C" string.

  • The playing is great, no doubt the best version I've ever seen.

However, you sped it up a little and made some mistakes/got a little sloppy at some parts. Try it at the normal tempo and it will probably be much cleaner.
