Thankyou for this fresh perspective of the Black Panther party. Being from Canada... the only thing I knew it was about, was violence and intolerance. Before this presentation, to me it was as backwards, primitive and an equal measure response to the Klan, nothing more. I have to admit, I only knew about this party because of old hollywood movies who portrayed how people lived in poor urban neighborhoods during, what seemed to me, as the 70's-80's.

Just a note about North Korea.

Today we know it as a poor, authoritarian, bizarre rogue state, but until the 1990's it was the North that was richer and more prosperous than the South.

Also of note, after the Korean war both the North and South were ruled by military dictatorships, the South until 1987.
