  • this group is amazing! would be possible to join together, to some international cultural festivals? or have their address ...

  • Awesome!

  • I wish to see this theatre group with all the stars !!!

  • I imitated this haka and when i brought my arms on the left and on the right to say the truth , at the end a dish appeared in my hands and was thrown in my face where the dish took all the bends of my face . rubishs télépathes .

  • Those Maori men behind the girls look rather white to me.

  • MisterX, why did you disabled comment section from "Maori Haka"? I want to see how people react seeing that representation :) Wonderful culture, by the way!

I subscribe on your chanell hoping you will upload more aspects of maori culture (please excuse my poor english) :)

  • The skinny days aw how i miss them lol. By the way this is a haka powhiri, its to welcome people in to the whare.

  • yo me pregunto... que dice la canción o el manifiesto ??

  • is there a course for this in the university?

  • i dont like it ! its just plain scary and they look like theyre being possessed . i think id rather just go watch the exorcist. what are they saying anywayy ??

  • @mixedlatina426 thats the whole point, we are supposed to look scary.

  • @kiwiifruiit well the girls dont look as scary, its the guys that are extremely creepy. & there are other ways to look scary, (not possessed) and who are they tryna scare. i get it if its for rugby .. but umm...?

  • @mixedlatina426 The haka is a war dance, it was performed by warriors before a battle. Proclaiming their strength and prowess to intimidate the opposition. (:

  • @kiwiifruiit ooooh. thats cool n all, but wuddup with the crazy faces. ? lol they dont seem angry , like i said they just seemed possessed. idk............i guess i get it. but still. they do a good job at scarin the shit out of a passing bystander. lol

  • @mixedlatina426 LOL ok, the maoris bulge out their eye and stick out their tongue and do all sorts of scary faces or "possesed" in this case, is because the haka as somebody mentioned before, is a war dance. it is to intimidate their opponent. these hakas are usually done before battle in front of their opponent. So when their opponent is scared , they will lose hope to fight the maori and thus, it is easier to win. It is like psychologically hurting your opponent.

  • @mixedlatina426 the crazy faces is because they tryin to scare the opposition during wars etc it obviously worked wit you

  • Beautiful dance! Beautiful people. So much energy!

  • The girl look so much more fierce than the guys in this video. ;D

  • Brute force in harmony with beauty. awesom!!

  • Damn!! Think im in love(or extreme like anyway) That was way beyond awesome!!!

  • @cookmark63 They only breed men in N Z my friend...thats why all the smart guys escape to australia...

  • more aggression, not much of scare

  • absolutely beautiful.

  • Amazing! I would travel to New Zealand to see this in person:). The maori are tough n strong lookin people, they'd make worthy opponents on the battle field against us indianz haha...p.s the women are so beautiful!

  • Can someone please tell me if there are many Maori women living in Los Angeles? They're beautiful.

  • Badass.

You don't mess with these girls.

  • @reasonsism If I see you I will try to cut out your eyes, so your heart can be born.

  • With ladies its likes parrot being choked.

  • will anyone be kind enough to show them the kitchen so they can relax again

  • @kiwiekatten good comment = -)

  • this is splendid from a Vincentian American!!! :)

  • if they were to do the Haka in front of me I'd bow and give them the respect they deserve knowing I am going into battle with such an amazing respectable warrior

  • I think the next time I'm out with my boys and somebody tries to star somsething, I'll do the Haka...I bet they won't bother us anymore...lol...

  • @Tink2127.. haha yea hard, good idea!

  • sweet as !!!!

  • So powerrful and beautiful! Can someone please post the translation of the text?

  • amazing, very powerful!

from a native american in Canada

  • love this song :DD ????

  • damn! i thought HAKA for men only as it's a war cry!

  • @TheAbyss0O0 Maori women are perfectly able to go to war too. And Wahine have always helped perform the haka it was in the last century when that changed. A lot of things changed then and people think its the way it always was. Women used to speak on the marae too but they adopted pakeha ways in the 60's and 70's and now don't know any better.

  • @Draqoni well, thanks alot Draqoni for the info, and yes in some old cultures women went to fight with men in wars as well.

  • What does this Haka mean?...

  • j'adore cette video la fiereté des ces hommes et femmes est fabuleuse bravo

  • i wish i could do that i looks like fun

  • geeze look at their toungues

  • DIDNT KNOW GIRLS WERE IN IT, IN HIGH SCHOOL THEY ALWAYS HAD MEN..THATS TIGHT!

  • are all the hakas old or are there new ones made up? Don't know the right term for it and don't want to offend.

  • @artysig

New ones get created all the time to match the particular situation. You can even do a haka just because yioure glad to be alive...sometimes you just feel that good and that mighty that a haka is the only thing that will express it.

  • so beautiful and noble culture..this is beautiful, they are shouting cos they re telling to the whole world how proud they are of their origins..the occidental culture almost destroid it .but as we can see, you can still feel it all together with all its strenght in the voice of one woman only ..imagine the whole group..for those who can understand it, of course...it is not for everyone.

  • I guess I can't click on to a favorite button here, but I like it alot

  • What is that about??

  • Has anybody an English translation of this please ?

  • Wow we all lok heapz differnt now!!!

  • Super hot.

  • OMG 94,000 views... Shit Renee don't pop hahaha... This is Awesome, Say the words Tina haha!!

  • I love a strong woman!

  • Those girls are scary!! and everybody know their moves and song....It looks like the women are saying that if the men did'nt catch you, we will finish the job....

  • @maybjj @maybjj lol, i was gonna say pretty much the same thing.

I know absolutely nothing about maori culture, but i'm guessing the men are saying "we're so tough, even our women can kick your @##." then the women come out and say "bring it!"

  • Comment removed

  • @ilargitxo2 I AM a woman, and I have no doubt that those women in this video could kick my ass or the ass of some man. .... I was admiring that fact in my comment!

I was referring to how the women are standing behind the men, like a second line of defense.

Don't be so quick to call someone a moron just because you misunderstood something.

  • @TheYaya5150 Ok, I'm sorry to have called you moron. But I thought you were a man with that comment.

  • @2Toxic awsome!!

  • Ебанашки

  • holy shit,,what a war dance...really scary if you dont have weapon xD

Bit too much kaha from the kaea but its not a big deal, people need to realize just how ampd your really feeling. But this is aiite ka pai te piringa. Reppin TURAKINA MAORI GIRLS` COLLEGE

  • I am from canada and have been to new zealand, I think that maori women are beautiful and that it is a cool culture! the haka raises the hair on my neck

  • @fifthavenuegirl Well...what color lipstick are we talking?

  • They look like they mean business. 8D Puts all the other womens' haka to shame. XD

  • Brings a new meaning to "If Momma ain't happy, then nobody happy."

Still, I would love to have one of those ladies watching my back.

  • 00:23 to 00:29 ... the guy spotted a very hot chick ...

  • @00aBs00 That chick scared me.

  • maori women are amazing, i belong to a tribe of headhunters (mongoloid stock) from the Noth East Indian Hills, and there seem to be many similaities with maorian culture and values, but my point is maori women are HOTTT!!!

  • yeah but everytime u get in an argument ... ure gonna have too see the haka thingy

  • lol i doubt they will put on the whole show for lil ole me.. they would probably just swat me aside.. xD

  • funny

    bt respectful

  • Is more expressive than the Men's Haka dance...

  • use fellas havent even seen mean girls/men untill u actually go 2 NZ lol

  • asi grita mi ex mujer jaja

  • The women make me want to get my face tattooed and move to NZ!!! They are HOT and if they are like the women from the island I am from they beat their men too!

  • just beautiful...it exemplifies unity as a community...men and women bound together if not for a moment to...

    survive.

    i just love it!

  • LOVE IT! :D

  • The idea in the Maori Dance Rituals , is not to look ugly , that's not the intent .

The meaning is to look :

fearless and aggressive , powerful and unbreakable .

But the idea of the lipstick is kind a cute .

  • beautiful :)

  • Nice

  • Lovely!

    maori women are very beautiful!

  • If this is how scary the womencan be, dont even want to think about the men!

  • I sometimes wonder how Europeans ever got the nerve to step on the shore, but I got to admit the prospect of being killed an eaten by the front row of women is oddly appealing...

  • just amazing!! I love watching the Haka being performed it is definitely frightening and very cool to watch

  • Magnificent !! can't think of any other word to describe this.

  • Damn!! just imagine in old times thousands of Maoris doing this right before they went on a killing spread! I'd have hate to be in front of them!! LOL!!

  • is shit my pants if u heard that coming from the bush ud be pretty scared well i would be

  • ya and after you lost to them, they would eat you!

  • I was just wonderin wat was the name of this Haka

  • Karapinepine..

  • THIS IS GREAT, MARVELLOUS, amazing!!!

    love it!

breaking the rules of "a woman must always look erotic and smiling"

they fight, and the ritual is made from heart, so autentic!

    great!

  • is this from new zealand???

  • yup........

  • @Bobbyjack5354

    Yip you got it

  • @Bobbyjack5354 Of course The Maoris only exist in New Zealand

  • What I love most about the Maori warriors is they used to do insult to injery by eating their kills....which is why they would stick out the tounge.

That and they were like Spartians in the sence their women also learned to fight as a last resort... pretty intence.

  • That was awesome!

  • screeching girls..

    dont really like that :(

  • nah its just because the hakas meant to scare people off well it was in old times so they scream like that to intimidate the enemy abit more.

  • can someone please explain why one of the people actually go through the middle of the group

  • Comment removed

  • dont like women doing it i think its more of a mans domain lol

  • Comment removed
