Keith Olbermann is telling the truth 100%. These tea parties are based solely on race. The republican/conservative movement has been so incredibly racist that these people would destroy the economy and keep millions of people unemployed just to see one man lose his job due solely to his race.
Dam....Deep to see a white man admit or at least see the world for what it really is....This sort of reminds me of what Phil Donahue told Louis Farrakhan on live TV (that has been edited out of the re-plays)..."U know what, I think you are on time"...his words, not mine. DEEP
Gosh dern socialism. we need to just let pennyless sick people die. ppl with out money for health care should be left outside of a hospital to bleed to death. becasue anything else would be socialist. we cant bare to stop spending trillions of dollars on a self induced quagmire of a war. old people need to starve and suffer and die. fuck them. they need no money. fuck welfare. billionaires should keep their money, and let the poor starve. this is wat conservatism is at its core.
And the only thing the facist republicans can't stand about pres. Obama is the fact a black man is living in the "white" house.(they should consider renaming it "the whites only house)
ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!!! Olbermann is definitely to be commended for saying the truth that few in this country would be brave enough to put on national television.
@9Elementz I agree. This special comment along with other wise words can be found in Keith's new book "Pitchforks and Torches" which I encourage everyone who respects integrity in this country and the truth to read.
@notdonebefore Maybe not _consciously_, but the hatred and racism both from the politicians AND members of the TEA Party @ rallies and functions are FAR too pervasive and common to just be random chance. No, there's a trend. After all, just compare them to the union protesters of Wisconsin, who were so nice, polite, and well-behaved that the Madison Chief of Police came out in a statement THANKING THE PROTESTERS for so good and for complying with the police so well.
@macgeek2004 It depends on which station you go to for coverage. Fox News (surprise suprise) portrayed the union protesters as violent and unruly when in reality they were so peaceful. I just don't trust the media for giving accurate portrayals of any political movement.
@notdonebefore But I mean, think about what you're saying real fast: is the TEA Party movement REALLY about lower taxes? Do you REALLY personally believe your taxes are _high_?!?
I have no idea how you could POSSIBLY legitimately believe that, but if you do, WHY IN THE FUCK are you in the TEA Party?!? The TEA Party is an ASTROTURF organization, _not_ a grassroots one! This means that it is only designed to LOOK grassroots, but really, its leadership just works for the usual corporate lobbyists.
@macgeek2004 LOLOL I'm DEFINITELY not a tea bagger! They would never want a gay liberal to associated with them haha. The tea party movement actually started in 2007 as a legitimate movement but around 2009 it got taken by fox news and other billionaires in order to get Republicans in office. I feel sorry for the legit tea party people that have watched there political movement get hijacks by the conservative establishment
@notdonebefore As Keith put it so well, all the Tea Baggers are are "the Judas Goats of American freedom."
...or they are the animated force of STUPIDITY that keeps shocking this nation's Right arm into IDIOCY, and they will ultimately be the downfall of the Republic.
You know, speaking of the debt ceiling, doesn't anyone else find it just a LITTLE ironic that the teabaggers are really attempting to destroy the Constitution w/this whole debt ceiling mess?
@macgeek2004 I don't understand how the entire point of the tea party is "to bring america back to prosperity" yet have no problem with letting the country default on it's debt. Maybe it's just me but I don't think letting America go into default is the best way to help the country's finances
I don't feel the Tea Party members are particularly racist.I think the Rolling Stone column on them summed it up best:
"It would be inaccurate to say the Tea Partiers are racists. What they are, in truth, are narcissists. It's not like the Tea Partiers hate black people. It's just that they're shockingly willing to believe the appalling horseshit fantasy about how white people in the age of Obama are some kind of oppressed minority. That may not be racism, but it is earth-shatteringly stupid.
Keith Olbermann is a white Uncle Tom who's ashamed of his own race.
His purported "anti-racism" stance has never stopped him from attacking Condoleezza Rice, Alberto Gonzales, Michael Steele, Bobby Jindal, Allen West, or any other minority Republican. But he whines about racism whenever anybody criticizes Obama. He's a white sellout who actually tries to get approval from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the Black Panthers.
@MyTotalRemedy So he's attacked minority's when they misbehaved? This is equality. If a non white person screws up they deserve reproach, as does a white person. But when a black man does what a white man has done and THEY receive protest it is racist. Obama was getting protested before he put forth any policy changes, since the day he was elected. Why did GW Bush not get a tea party protest as he took the country from a surplus into a deficit? "Take back our country" says it all.
I love this man to death. People are afraid of differences. People want to be around people like them. This is the EXACT rhetoric which has grown so real to me this past year, at Providence College in Rhode Island, aka, according to a staff member, "White Suburbia, USA."
Very good, Mr. Olbermann and thank you for your excellent report on racism in America. You get five gold stars and you can carry the teacher's books after school. (After you clap the erasers and tattle on your classmates.) Now will either you, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, Ed Schultz, Andrea Mitchell or Dylan Ratigan please give you chair to a Black, Hispanic, Asian or Native American? Next weeks essay will be called Walking the Walk.
Yeah, when will you hire a Black Host? Or, or maybe allow a Black to be a "fill-in" guest. There's Melissa Harris-Lacewell, Errol Lewis and Joe Madison. MSNBC and the rest of those clowns are frauds!
As much as I despise Fox News, O'reilly and Cavuto will have a Black Host in their absence. Juan Williams and Charles Payne fills in on a regular basis. For you clowns who want to say, well, Juan supports their nonsense! Well, doesn't Melissa and Joe agree with the topics of MSNBC?
You're just as bad as the people being commented upon. They need to hire someone as a token gesture to please you?
The point of being post-racial is that one disregards the entire issue in all decisions of hiring, or opinions, or anything, and deriding those who still think in terms of race.
I wouldn't think of Ms. Maddow as the token homosexual that MSNBC has hired but as someone hired because of inherent ability.
Are you telling me that, Melissa Harris-Lacewell, Joe Madison and Erol Lewis aren't qualified to host an hour long TV News show? The you-tube slugs they place on the screen are nowhere near as qualified as the aforementioned. Mrs. Harris-Lacewell has a PHD and is a very gifted woman.
Again, they bring Blacks on to call out those racists "Fox News" people. At least Fox allows Blacks (Juan Williams and Charles Payne) to fill in from time to time.
@S201676 If Rachel isn't considered a "Token" then why should Joe, Melissa or Erol be considered one? Is it because of their skin color? This is why many Blacks don't support the Democratic Party. Democrats today are just as bad as certain republicans!
Give me ONE good reason as to why a Black shouldn't be allowed to fill in on MSNBC. I'll give you THREE!
There is no reason why any race or gender or sexual orientation should not be represented just because of those qualities, but until you establish that there is a malicious intent behind not having some people serve as substitute anchors, then you are asserting racism without proof thereof.
Tea Party folks at least drop bits of evidence along the way (ex: Obama as an African witch doctor and the lingering "birther" movement).
@S201676 You said that, "tea partiers drop hints and that there must be malicious intent behind not having some ppl. serve as substitute anchors"?
The proof is on the screen! Again, the Tea Party does not run MSNBC. Fox News, as racists as they are portrayed, at least allow Juan Williams and Charles Payne to fill in from time to time. They (Fox) gave Larry Elder a shot @ his OWN SHOW!
MSNBC should explain why they DON'T have any BLACKS hosting any shows. Not the other way around.
Again, you don't seem to understand what the idea of post-racism is. It means that race is irrelevant - not something to be considered in opinion-making OR explicitly pointed out.
But if you insist, why don't you explain why you don't have more black friends, or hire more blacks, or hang out with more Asians or Hispanics? If you want to criticize others for not meeting your quota, be sure you meet it yourself first.
Keith O. is a FRAUD! When he asked former President (Clinton) to attend his H/C summitt in honor of his father, the former Pres. said NO! "You're doing all of this to make a political pt. and I won't be a part of it!"
Now, to answer your other question. What race am I? Who said I was white?! I voted for Crist (R-Fla).
Again, why should a PHD holder from Princeton be considered a "quota hire"? You're proving my pt.. They have NO EXCUSE! I know she's more qualified than Sam Seder!
@S201676 If you can't or refuse to explain why Sam Seder is more qualified to guest host Coundown, rather than Melissa Harris-Lacewell, Joe Madison or Erol Lewis, don't bother me anymore. You're dancing around the question. I don't know if you're just ignorant to the facts, or, maybe you think I'm just plain IGNORANT!
Either way, if you don't have an answer, then shoo!
Well, before you can assume that there is anything wrong with the MSNBC leadership, you ought to normalize for all other factors. Does everyone on your list have an equal desire to be a substitute anchor? Perhaps they are uninterested in taking that role or busy with something else?
Since MSNBC has Ms. Maddow, a gay anchor, and FOX apparently does not, does that equal out? Is it a 1:1 ratio, or do you need a couple of gays to equal one African American?
The last comment you made just illustrated how foolish you really are, cletus. Once again you have displayed your utter dumbassery comments on you-tube for the entire world to see.
Gays?
Joe Madison has already said he wanted to host a TV show.
Btw, Fox News has Black fill-in hosts. Charles Payne (Neil Cavuto) and Juan Williams (Bill O'reilly) The facts are there, sleprock.
So you are for racial "equality" (as defined by having an MSNBC fill-in host who is black - as opposed to Hispanic or Asian or Native American?) before sexual orientation "equality"?
Perhaps it would be best to refer to yourself as "whiteliberal-heterosexualconservative"?
No I didn't serve in the Marine Corps ... does that fact make anything I say automatically able to be dismissed?
@S201676 Please name the Asian, hispanic or Native Americans that are qualified. I gave you three people I know who are qualified (Joe Madison Melissa Harris-Lacewell Erol Lewis). They love to bring Blacks on talk about those "racists Fox News hosts." You're going from Gays/Lesbians to every other race on the planet besides Blacks. I can argue for Native, Latino or Asian people. Right now I'm cracking that TATER of yours on Blks.
As for your Marine question? No, you're obviously just dumb!
Because this is the only freaking dumb ass country that rolls out the red carpet for them. They are destroying this country from bottom up and they still want more. They want our jobs, our Identity, they want our neighborhoods. they want our schools, they want to drive without a liscence, they want us to speak spanish, they want free medical care , they want food stamps and welfare, and thy want to vote. What do we get in exchange? Crime, murder, drugs, gangs, infectious diseases. What a deal!
Has Keith Olbermann ever badmouthed anyone of color or does he just pic on white people? I think race traitors like Queef Olbercunt should be skinned alive for they are unworthy of the skin that they possess.
@wiskawind I'm sorry I didn't realize I was making a racist statement. I didn't say anything disparaging about people of color so what made you think I was racist? If I am racist against anybody it's against self loathing white people like you that constantly put down their own race to try to gain acceptance with minorities and cope with their media induced white guilt. Maybe skinning is a bit extreme. I was using hyperboly after all. I do think that skin dying would be a nice option though.
@padude64 I even p3wned him on twitter and I'm a nobody with only 56 followers. Look up twitter.com/DanielDamascus. As far as the Republicans getting back in office after 2 years of Obama I will welcome them with open arms. The only people that will be screwed in this country when they come back this November will be Welfare Queens and Illegal Aliens. Fuck Government subsidies! Either stand on your own two feet or fall on your face. Survival of the fittest. God I love Capitalism!
@padude64 I don't want my taxes paying for your welfare checks so I am voting Republican November 2nd. I am 31 and this is the first time that I have voted Democrat or Republican. The only time I voted before this was when I voted for Ralph Nader! To tell you the truth I am equally disgusted with both of the major parties. At the end of the day I'm going to go with whoever lets me keep more of the money that I earn. 40% income tax is fucking communism and I won't stand for it.
@DanielDamascusKimery You do realize that the majority of people on welfare in this country are white, don't you? And you do realize that the top tax rate under GWBush was 33%, under Clinton was 39%, Reagan 28%, Nixon 70%, Johnson 77%, Eisenhower 87% and FDR 94%. Next to this 40% is a blip. Once you actually examine the facts, you realize that a vote for a Tea Party Republican is a classic case of "voting against your own self-interest".
@jalabi99 How am I voting against my interest when I am against welfare regardless of the persons color? Please site your reference and give me the exact demographics of who is on welfare because your story smells like bullshit just like your skin does nigger.
@jalabi99 I looked it up. You were only part right on welfare.
White 38.8%
Black 37.2
Hispanic 17.8
Asian 2.8
Other 3.4
It doesn't initially look good for either whites or blacks until you compare these figures with US Census population figures. Blacks = 12.9% of the population, Whites = 77.1%. This means that proportionally, a MUCH bigger percentage of blacks are on welfare than whites. Surprisingly, teenage mothers of all races only accounted for 7.6% of people on welfare.
@DanielDamascusKimery The number of white people on welfare exceeds the number of black people on welfare. That is the bottom line of it. By being "against welfare regardless of the person's color", you are voting against your own self-interest -- unless you are making $250K+ per annum (making you rich, in other words), and I seriously doubt that.
@jalabi99 How is it against my self interest when I don't collect a welfare check? I am voting against my interest unless I make over 250k a year? So what you are saying is that everyone that makes less than 250k gets a welfare check? Get off welfare and get a job nigger. You Leeches tie us in welfare recipients even though we outnumber you 7 to 1. I'd bet the farm that most of the white people on welfare are white women with black babies. I don't want to spend my money to pay whores to breed.
@padude64 We were only being taxed 10% by the British when we went to war over taxes. Wake up people. You're making our founding fathers roll over in their graves by supporting all of this socialist redistribution of wealth tax and spend bullshit.
Where is this RACISM you speak of? anything that could be perceived as pro-white is that racism? Affirmative Action Is RACISM. Keith Olbermann is an anti-white racist who should shoot himself in the head if he feels so guilty of being white!
@themanmario123 The very term "pro-white" is racism spoken of. What is it you think is exclusively supportive of the interests of whites that isn't supportive of the interests of all regardless of race? Pro; fairness, justice, access, and opportunity is pro-American. Any subset that defines a group with an expectation other than equity for the whole is inherently racist. Perhaps you're defining pro-white as; continued dominance and control.
@58ADAGIO: Amen, friend. Really, 'anti-white' has just become another codeword for something that white supremacists/nationalists, and perhaps even other types of extremists, feel somehow threatens their interests and/or ideology.{trust me, I've seen a lot of that stuff on here.}
@DanielDamascusKimery Keith Olbermann loves all people except terrorists! You people who love Fox news had better realize that If the extreme right wing gets in, this country is done!
@padude64 The problem with his logic is that he thinks that the Republicans are the Terrorist and not Al quaeda. I don't like fox news either but at least they have liberals and conservatives come in for interviews. when was the last time Keith Olbermann had a conservative in? The answer is never because he is a moron with a teleprompter that can't think on his feet. That's why he never debates people and when he does he gets P3wned every time.
Speak for yourself jagoff. Prejudice and discrimination still sits, to varying degrees of defeat, dormancy and virulency, in every human being who ever lived and ever will live. As much as your sophomoric guilt-addled brain would have people (and by that I mean other white folks) believe, this is not a whites only condition. Get the f**k over yourself you arrogant prick.
@Anakha13 Yeah so that makes it o.k to be racist. WHITE POWER! *sarcasm* And even though it is human nature to be ETHNOCENTRIC (but not racist), does not make it right. As Olbermann explained in the portion about putting a hand on a hot stove, most racism is taught. Also, Olbermann never said he was not racist either, hes just pointing out how contemporary America still has racism, just in a different form, and we should all be aware of it.
@baba1014 There are still racist in America. No question. Just as there is still racism in every country in the world. That doesn't make it okay, it just means it exists. And it isn't the "whites" only condition so many believe it to be, a mindset which waters down awareness like so much "boy who cried wolf". There are plenty of folks who aren't white who are racist and there are plenty of folks who are white who aren't racist and vice versa.
I wish Mel Gibson was gay so Olbermann would date him, then Mel could beat the shit out of him for not wearing the pink tie in favor of Keith's favorite pretty in purple tie, to Mel's next movie premier. You are an EPIC FAIL Nolbermann! Kill yourself live on MSNBC...we're waiting! It's the only way that your so called news network could ever beat FOX news in the ratings. And FOX news, the jews are fucking your country in the ass...so wake the fuck up and stop helping them!
Fuck you Olbermann! Speak for yourself asshole! You're the racist! To assume white people are prejudice simply because they are white is RACIST! It is the very definition of racism. Progressive assholes like Olbermann want to keep minorities down so you they can milk off the government programs and live like kings. Now the progressives are trying to divide this country by creating nonexistent race issues to further exploit minorities. Don't project your bullshit on me Olbermann you scum!
Ah yes. I will always remember when I was a child the day my parents sat me down and told me "You need to beware of black people." I've spent the rest of my life fighting that damn racist wiring in my brain. Thank you Keith for showing me that all my disagreements with Obama hinge from my deep seeded fear of black people. Google black tea party members if you want some faces.
Sorry Olbermann - my family didn’t swim a river to get here and cheat real Immigrants that do so legally. And the person that said your Messiah, Obama was only picked for the Democratic ticket was not a white man, but a woman. And she was right. He had none of the experience we demand of a potential president. But all people cared about was “making history.” Well, we are still making history - but it is how fast over 200 years can be wiped away.
It's nice to hear that some people in the media are brave enough to just "tell it like it is". Mr. Olbermann should be respected for just telling the truth. Although this is not "politically correct"; this is absolutely the right thing to do. It's time that people in this country stop pretending that all this "tea party" crap is not about racism and greed. Racism and greed is what this country was built on.
I used to have respect for Keith Olbermann until I viewed this special comment. This is desperation at its worst. The tea party movement is about individuality. Liberals like Keith are the real segregationists and this video proves it. If there is any reason why blacks and hispanics don't show up to the tea party movement it is only b/c mainstream talking heads like you Mr. Olbermann subtly tell blacks on a constant basis not to go to the tea party rallies. The freedom message is for all!
Olbermann''s thinking is twisted. His obsession of "how things oughta be" clouds every aspect of his commentary. He has a penchant for denying the obvious, ignoring common sense, and misrepresenting his competition. Thank you MSNBC for keeping him around ... so we have an example of what Utopian thinking sounds like. I doubt that we'll ever encounter a more mis-guided and wrong headed commentator.
I think that some people who have to clarify that they are not racist are not using what they are saying as a rationalization for hating him but because people assume they are racist.
Huh. nI can see where he's coming from, not that I agree with him. I have no strong political opinions of my own, and I'm sure some people who hate Obama are racists, but not everyone is. I can see the roots of his assements, not that I agree with this. I think it is based on other things, things still not justified, but not racism nevertheless.
It is the radical lefts mandate to divide the nation, with race, or sexuality differences. All the other countries of the G20 want to stop deficit spending, Obama on the other hand wants to bring in a new form of crony capitalism. Meaning they can rake up debt as they please. Lets not take our eye off the ball, stop the spending.
This show is a joke, a sad one. Obama was elected on hope, and he has broken everyones hearts. "They" are there Keith, non whites, you just don't know that, because you aren't there with them. This is the "Obama is the second coming" show. How long do you think China will continue to buy US bonds? It is coming to an end, America will have some very difficult decisions to make in the near future, ones that will test social cohesion.
@TheKickerboy99 Obama being elected shows how desparate a nation of people we have become.Nothing to do with race. "Change" is what Obama promised (or sold) and most people bought it up like crazy because we are in dire need of change in politics. So much darn corruption! Our politicians make our country look like a joke and Obama is not helping one bit.
@huneekis Agreed. I see very few blacks, asians, hispanics, or gays that are these Tea Party members. That sounds like a clue that THESE people really hate President Obama. Whether it is race or not I do not agree and this is not 1941, this is 2010. We need to have more faith in our president.
@RealTime88 IDK. Perhaps much fewer blacks, asians, hispanics, and gays join the Tea party movement. After all it's not as if you need to take a test or meet qualifications to become a Tea Party member. You just become one and join the fight for their cause. Maybe those people just don't know about what the tea party members stand for or just simply don't care. Lots of people dont care today or are indifferent. That is the shameful thing. Just thinking out loud here.
@FaceOfGod2 Well the gays are not going join on this because many Tea Party members who are conservatives hate gay people. You are right about one thing, many people in America regardless of race do not care about what is going on in the world. They say the news depresses them and many of those people do not vote. I am a libertarian but I don't hate President Obama. I think it's a double whammy if a person is a Tea Party member and a birther. Would you agree?
He's a socialist....Loved him at ESPN. But he went from Joe Six-Pack to Joe Stalin very quickly! He's good....and I admire his talent, but he certainly sold his soul for a huge paycheck. And that's OK. Actually it's great. That's what's capitalism is all about.
The funny thing is, the very idea (concept) of capitalism, that he rails against nightly, is exactly why he is making millions of dollars a year.
Keith, self-righteous Leftist psychos like yourself, from rich backgrounds, are always proven to be nothing but double-talkers when it comes to race relations; in private,at the end of every day,you Lefties are THE very racists you screech at,and claim,Whites like me to be.
racism is not natural it is something that is put in peoples heads. If you put a black toddler and a white toddler together in a room all they will do is play
@travdaddy82 Thx for respondng. U r entitled to ur opinion; however, I respectfully disagree w u on Keith and the race card. The race card IS overused, but in this case, I believe race is 1 of the underlining themes that folks with hidden agendas are using to insight fear in the masses. None of us are getting all the info necessary to make good sound decisions; just propaganda and other folks' slants. Wonder if we got the truth what we would think. The way u feel bout Keith/MSNBC I feek bout..
This should be required viewing for every immigrant as they enter the country.
This should be required viewing for every high school student in America.
It is my fervent hope that we will evolve beyond our current state to one of true enlightenment that will allow racism to be delegated to the books of ancient history.
@leeason1 Why indeed?? Because The United States of America is the single Strongest & Greatest nation on Earth, bar none. I have served in the U.S.A.F. and been where Uncle Sam sends me and I knowthere is far, far worse out there than America. We are the benchmark for the world to aspire too. Everyone 1 wanted to "Be American".
@SirStrazzen When it comes to the league tables of quality of life, life expentancy, personal wealth, personal happiness, job satisfaction, diabtetes rates, access to healthcare and dental services, America is WAY down the list.
@FixedNewsChannel Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Afghanistan....the list can go on and on. All the many countries that you would NEVER want to live in because they have starvation, famine, pestilence, wars-and many of the so called governments are nothing more than a group of corrupt hate-mongering rebels who will shoot you. It may do you well to visit a country like that for a month. You wont make it one month! And you will cry to come home to USA.
@FixedNewsChannel: I think libertarianism has gotten a bad rap.........granted, Ron Paul is a liar and a useful idiot, but the philosophy itself needs to be rehabilitated, I think.{after all, there's a social side to it, too!}
@FixedNewsChannel de-regulation and liberalism do not go hand in hand...contrary to what fox news spoon fed you...think for yourself, you'll feel so much better
@TheKickerboy99 Wow, I thought Canadians were above the idiocy that chokes the United States. I guess there is no escape from the lies and manipulations of the reactionary right.
@SirStrazzen FixedNewsChannel speaks the truth. Some countries in Europe, Middle East and Far East are way ahead of the USA on those indexes. USA is big with a big military and economy, but when it comes down to the individual you're a lot better off being, say, Swedish or Qatari.
@SirStrazzen Please note what this means coming from a resident of former Soviet Union: I would never, EVER want to come even NEAR the totalitarian, bureaucratic, unjust, unlawful, theocratic, self-aggrandizing, warmongering, nationalistic, fervent, uneducated, poor, exploitative and often downright evil puppet empire that United States is today.
Not to say you're having it worse than, say, Africa... Overall... But, still, just don't have the misfortune to be born there. Take care.
Racism does not exist anymore, though many people seem to want it to. What does exist (and will always exist) is that people will always like and befriend people that they can relate to the best. And the fact is, most of the time, the people that you can relate to and share values with are those that share a similar background, which means they are often (but not always) the same race. This does not make a person "racist" nor is there anything wrong with it.
WHITE "racism" barely exists at all - except from White LEFTISTS/RADICALS. And any racism against Whites, especially from non-Whites? TOTALLY allowed.Since the 196660s
Complain. And that they are tired of other Black people making "too much noise" and making it "bad for them". Give me a break. Keith Olbermann is "telling the truth". And the fact that you have a problem with it makes him even more "right".
And "lets be clear" if you are not a racist like what he is speaking of then you would have no reason to be upset. Plain and simple!!
Keith is Right!! And I notice the typical White male response on this board. Which is A) Accuse Keith Olbermann of being racist! For simply calling you out on it. In Psychology the term is called "projecting". B) Make the case of why you are racist by saying: I'm not a racist BUT.... or C) Tell Black people that everybody is "RACIST" and that THEY should just get OVER IT.
Then you have some of the Black apologist who are desperately trying to seek your favor by saying that they will not
@Serenasailor if non-White people think I am racist why would I help them? I don't help people who insult me. Further, if all White people are racist why do all non-White people want to live in countries where the most of us are?
I'm a black man... My opinion on this topic: Does racism exist in 2010, ABSOLUTELY!!!!! How should black people respond to it, FUCK IT!!!!! You gotta take it with a grain of salt... No excuses, pursue your dreams, respect others, live your life to the fullest!!!!!
@Outheremovin, agreed my man. Just let it go and accept one another. There are differences in everything about our lives, physical, psychological, origins, beliefs, etc.
I'm just sick of these people keep holding onto the race card for their personal/political gain.
Shut up!Damn it!I am sick and tired of people using that damned race card. When you pick 150 million grapes, you're going to bad grapes same thing with the tea party. The group is not racist, there are sometimes racist people.I am not racist,I like black people.I am an American,a capitalist, and i hate the progressive socialist program. And keith evolved? Our founding fathers built this great nation.
@Outheremovin Amen! Life is way too short to let things bother people like this. I am a white man and if the tables were turned I would too simply focus on my dreams and keep my dignity always. Love everybody. People who are racist may not know that they will have to deal with God about it someday. It is ironic that we have come so far as a civilization technologically yet we are so far behind spiritually, where skin color actually affects people's decisions! This is a shame!
@mongoose704 YOU MISS THE POINT; HE ALSO HINTED THAT THE ARROW POINTS IN THE OTHER DIRECTION, BUT AS A PERSON OF COLOR I UNDERSTAND MY DISTRUST BUT STILL TRY TO ACCEPT PEOPLE FOR THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER.
WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE?
AT LEAST MR OBERMANN HAS THE BALLS TO DISCUSS IT...INTELLIGENTLY.
Racism is the anti-thesis of intelligence and Olbermann is blatantly guilty of racism. Therefore his remarks can hardly be called an attempt at intelligent discussion.
And what relevance does your "color" have with this discussion?
@mongoose704 A hell of a Goddamn lot!!! If it didn't we wouldn't be having this disscussion on the very word you started your reply with now would we? Duh
@mongoose704 How is Keith O. "guilty" of racism? And of all things, blatantly?? He goes through and lists out everything about what the Tea-Bag's are, what led up to them and now during them. He is Journalist! Read the webster's definition of it. My mother was 1 also. Class of 63 U. of Iowa. .
Nope; sorry!! Racism has never been as strong as it is right now. The GOP had a part to play in that. How you say. When in the last 8 years have the GOP been active in speaking out against racism. They controlled the bully pulpit. When you ignore the problem exists it is just like donning those clean white sheets. As a soldier for 12 years I have seen it first hand. Yes; a white officer. "Nigger" was a very common word among my comrades. Without shame. It was so natural and seemingly comfortable
As far as Im concerned no black person alive today is entitled to reprerations regarding slavery. Unless they were an actual slave. The only thing blacks are entitled to are the things everyone is entitled to. Just because your black doesnt give you an excuse to think your entitled to something some other ethnicity is not. Weve come far enough that the next generation of black folks wont have the experience of racism that the older generation did.
of course black people are entitled to repirations( although it will never happen).....just think of all the free labor that my great great great grandparents did for this country
What a lying missinforming fool. Furthermore, it was the Dems that historically were the party tied to the KKK. Lincoln was a simple republican God believing conservative, not a liberal God denying evolutionist. Futherthermore, evolution is the greatest conveyor of racism, not Christanity!
Your point is kinda moot, and I think you need to reread your history. The roles of the parties have done a switch-a-roo; the Dems of past are what the current day Republicans are, and vice versa. This has nothing to do with just the brand name, but the ideological thinking in general.
You'd be more correct to say this: The Conservatives, especially those on the far right, have been tied to the KKK; Lincoln, during his time, was more of a moderate; your last point makes no sense.
@darkelow The point is simple, in a word, Eugenics. Eugenics is the birth child of evolution. If one can make the perverse point that one group of people are less evolved they oppress them. The modern tool of eugenics is abortion and sterilizations. In other words, the evolutionist leftist elitist is out to control the population of "undesirables."
@darkelow There was no "switch-a-roo." Dems are still killing blacks, they just do it under the cover of planned parenthood. Blacks are targeted. It is the Republicans that champion life, not the using Dems. The seventh day of Obama's time in the WH he condemned all Americans to take part in the murder of babies everywhere America offers aid. Resurrect the Mexico policy and make it law!
Amazing....out of the thousands of people that are visible in the said shot you found one black. Thusly Keith is lying. I think that what he has said is true. When people are afraid and their security is threatened, they will latch onto anything especially when it heightens our differences - cause it is always someone else fault. Logic is thrown out.
@toastertown6 Hey Toastertown6. Thanks for responding to my comment. I am not sure what you mean by your statement of " like when you people say that the tea party based on race", my first question is what do you mean by "you people"? If you are asking ME about the tea parties, I think race is part of it, but I think the bigger part of the tea parties is fear, that those folks are losing something. The leaders from what I have seen and read have not offered an alternative plan....
Keith Olbermann is telling the truth 100%. These tea parties are based solely on race. The republican/conservative movement has been so incredibly racist that these people would destroy the economy and keep millions of people unemployed just to see one man lose his job due solely to his race.

The Tea Party movement is about tax reductions, not hating minorities. The way the media portrays them is really unfair
notdonebefore 7 months ago
@notdonebefore Maybe not _consciously_, but the hatred and racism both from the politicians AND members of the TEA Party @ rallies and functions are FAR too pervasive and common to just be random chance. No, there's a trend. After all, just compare them to the union protesters of Wisconsin, who were so nice, polite, and well-behaved that the Madison Chief of Police came out in a statement THANKING THE PROTESTERS for so good and for complying with the police so well.
macgeek2004 7 months ago
@macgeek2004 It depends on which station you go to for coverage. Fox News (surprise suprise) portrayed the union protesters as violent and unruly when in reality they were so peaceful. I just don't trust the media for giving accurate portrayals of any political movement.
notdonebefore 7 months ago
@notdonebefore But I mean, think about what you're saying real fast: is the TEA Party movement REALLY about lower taxes? Do you REALLY personally believe your taxes are _high_?!?
I have no idea how you could POSSIBLY legitimately believe that, but if you do, WHY IN THE FUCK are you in the TEA Party?!? The TEA Party is an ASTROTURF organization, _not_ a grassroots one! This means that it is only designed to LOOK grassroots, but really, its leadership just works for the usual corporate lobbyists.
macgeek2004 7 months ago
@macgeek2004 LOLOL I'm DEFINITELY not a tea bagger! They would never want a gay liberal to associated with them haha. The tea party movement actually started in 2007 as a legitimate movement but around 2009 it got taken by fox news and other billionaires in order to get Republicans in office. I feel sorry for the legit tea party people that have watched there political movement get hijacks by the conservative establishment
notdonebefore 7 months ago
@notdonebefore As Keith put it so well, all the Tea Baggers are are "the Judas Goats of American freedom."
...or they are the animated force of STUPIDITY that keeps shocking this nation's Right arm into IDIOCY, and they will ultimately be the downfall of the Republic.
You know, speaking of the debt ceiling, doesn't anyone else find it just a LITTLE ironic that the teabaggers are really attempting to destroy the Constitution w/this whole debt ceiling mess?
macgeek2004 7 months ago
@macgeek2004 I don't understand how the entire point of the tea party is "to bring america back to prosperity" yet have no problem with letting the country default on it's debt. Maybe it's just me but I don't think letting America go into default is the best way to help the country's finances
notdonebefore 7 months ago
I don't feel the Tea Party members are particularly racist.I think the Rolling Stone column on them summed it up best:
"It would be inaccurate to say the Tea Partiers are racists. What they are, in truth, are narcissists. It's not like the Tea Partiers hate black people. It's just that they're shockingly willing to believe the appalling horseshit fantasy about how white people in the age of Obama are some kind of oppressed minority. That may not be racism, but it is earth-shatteringly stupid.

freetruth80 8 months ago
Keith Olbermann is a white Uncle Tom who's ashamed of his own race.
His purported "anti-racism" stance has never stopped him from attacking Condoleezza Rice, Alberto Gonzales, Michael Steele, Bobby Jindal, Allen West, or any other minority Republican. But he whines about racism whenever anybody criticizes Obama. He's a white sellout who actually tries to get approval from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the Black Panthers.
MyTotalRemedy 8 months ago
@MyTotalRemedy So he's attacked minority's when they misbehaved? This is equality. If a non white person screws up they deserve reproach, as does a white person. But when a black man does what a white man has done and THEY receive protest it is racist. Obama was getting protested before he put forth any policy changes, since the day he was elected. Why did GW Bush not get a tea party protest as he took the country from a surplus into a deficit? "Take back our country" says it all.

Well, doesn't Melissa and Joe agree with the topics of MSNBC?
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@whiteliberal1
S201676 1 year ago
@S201676 A "token"?
There's no EXCUSE for this!
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@S201676 If Rachel isn't considered a "Token" then why should Joe, Melissa or Erol be considered one? Is it because of their skin color? This is why many Blacks don't support the Democratic Party. Democrats today are just as bad as certain republicans!
Give me ONE good reason as to why a Black shouldn't be allowed to fill in on MSNBC. I'll give you THREE!
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@whiteliberal1
S201676 1 year ago
@S201676 You said that, "tea partiers drop hints and that there must be malicious intent behind not having some ppl. serve as substitute anchors"?
The proof is on the screen! Again, the Tea Party does not run MSNBC. Fox News, as racists as they are portrayed, at least allow Juan Williams and Charles Payne to fill in from time to time. They (Fox) gave Larry Elder a shot @ his OWN SHOW!
MSNBC should explain why they DON'T have any BLACKS hosting any shows. Not the other way around.
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@whiteliberal1
S201676 1 year ago
@S201676
Keith O.
I know she's more qualified than Sam Seder!
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@S201676 If you can't or refuse to explain why Sam Seder is more qualified to guest host Coundown, rather than Melissa Harris-Lacewell, Joe Madison or Erol Lewis, don't bother me anymore. You're dancing around the question. I don't know if you're just ignorant to the facts, or, maybe you think I'm just plain IGNORANT!
Either way, if you don't have an answer, then shoo!
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@whiteliberal1
You shoo!
S201676 1 year ago
@S201676 Right now you're chasing your own tail.
Again, just......go away.
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@whiteliberal1
And MSNBC has an actual gay host, not just a substitute one. What does FOX have to match that?
Also, if you mean to insult someone's intelligence, you should go about it with actual words, rather than "dumbassery [sic].
S201676 1 year ago
@S201676 Are you really this stupid?! The reason I mentioned them is because, maybe I was talking about BLACK FILL-IN HOSTS! I don't care about FOX.
Besides, a lot of whites place higher value on a dog's life over a life of Black.
Rachel is WHITE before she is a Lesbian! Let's take it one step @ time with the Blacks.-MSNBC President Phil Ford-LOL
Also, I stand corrected. It's your UTTER DUMBASSERY COMMENTS! That's a term used in the Marine Corps.. Obviously you didn't serve, shitbird!
whiteliberal1 1 year ago
@whiteliberal1
S201676 1 year ago
@S201676 Please name the Asian, hispanic or Native Americans that are qualified. I gave you three people I know who are qualified (Joe Madison Melissa Harris-Lacewell Erol Lewis). They love to bring Blacks on talk about those "racists Fox News hosts." You're going from Gays/Lesbians to every other race on the planet besides Blacks. I can argue for Native, Latino or Asian people. Right now I'm cracking that TATER of yours on Blks.

DanielDamascusKimery 1 year ago
@DanielDamascusKimery You do realize that the majority of people on welfare in this country are white, don't you? And you do realize that the top tax rate under GWBush was 33%, under Clinton was 39%, Reagan 28%, Nixon 70%, Johnson 77%, Eisenhower 87% and FDR 94%. Next to this 40% is a blip. Once you actually examine the facts, you realize that a vote for a Tea Party Republican is a classic case of "voting against your own self-interest".
jalabi99 1 year ago
@jalabi99 How am I voting against my interest when I am against welfare regardless of the persons color? Please site your reference and give me the exact demographics of who is on welfare because your story smells like bullshit just like your skin does nigger.
DanielDamascusKimery 1 year ago
@jalabi99 I looked it up. You were only part right on welfare.
White 38.8%
Black 37.2
Hispanic 17.8
Asian 2.8
Other 3.4
It doesn't initially look good for either whites or blacks until you compare these figures with US Census population figures. Blacks = 12.9% of the population, Whites = 77.1%. This means that proportionally, a MUCH bigger percentage of blacks are on welfare than whites. Surprisingly, teenage mothers of all races only accounted for 7.6% of people on welfare.
DanielDamascusKimery 1 year ago
@DanielDamascusKimery The number of white people on welfare exceeds the number of black people on welfare. That is the bottom line of it. By being "against welfare regardless of the person's color", you are voting against your own self-interest -- unless you are making $250K+ per annum (making you rich, in other words), and I seriously doubt that.
jalabi99 1 year ago
@jalabi99 How is it against my self interest when I don't collect a welfare check? I am voting against my interest unless I make over 250k a year? So what you are saying is that everyone that makes less than 250k gets a welfare check? Get off welfare and get a job nigger. You Leeches tie us in welfare recipients even though we outnumber you 7 to 1. I'd bet the farm that most of the white people on welfare are white women with black babies. I don't want to spend my money to pay whores to breed.

Where is this RACISM you speak of? anything that could be perceived as pro-white is that racism? Affirmative Action Is RACISM. Keith Olbermann is an anti-white racist who should shoot himself in the head if he feels so guilty of being white!
themanmario123 1 year ago
@themanmario123 The very term "pro-white" is racism spoken of. What is it you think is exclusively supportive of the interests of whites that isn't supportive of the interests of all regardless of race? Pro; fairness, justice, access, and opportunity is pro-American. Any subset that defines a group with an expectation other than equity for the whole is inherently racist. Perhaps you're defining pro-white as; continued dominance and control.

I think that some people who have to clarify that they are not racist are not using what they are saying as a rationalization for hating him but because people assume they are racist.
TriFF51Tribute 1 year ago
Huh. nI can see where he's coming from, not that I agree with him. I have no strong political opinions of my own, and I'm sure some people who hate Obama are racists, but not everyone is. I can see the roots of his assements, not that I agree with this. I think it is based on other things, things still not justified, but not racism nevertheless.
TriFF51Tribute 1 year ago

TheKickerboy99 1 year ago
@TheKickerboy99 Obama being elected shows how desparate a nation of people we have become.Nothing to do with race. "Change" is what Obama promised (or sold) and most people bought it up like crazy because we are in dire need of change in politics. So much darn corruption! Our politicians make our country look like a joke and Obama is not helping one bit.

TheKickerboy99 1 year ago
@huneekis Agreed. I see very few blacks, asians, hispanics, or gays that are these Tea Party members. That sounds like a clue that THESE people really hate President Obama. Whether it is race or not I do not agree and this is not 1941, this is 2010. We need to have more faith in our president.
RealTime88 1 year ago
@RealTime88 IDK. Perhaps much fewer blacks, asians, hispanics, and gays join the Tea party movement. After all it's not as if you need to take a test or meet qualifications to become a Tea Party member. You just become one and join the fight for their cause. Maybe those people just don't know about what the tea party members stand for or just simply don't care. Lots of people dont care today or are indifferent. That is the shameful thing. Just thinking out loud here.
FaceOfGod2 1 year ago

Serenasailor 1 year ago
Keith is Right!! And I notice the typical White male response on this board. Which is A) Accuse Keith Olbermann of being racist! For simply calling you out on it. In Psychology the term is called "projecting". B) Make the case of why you are racist by saying: I'm not a racist BUT.... or C) Tell Black people that everybody is "RACIST" and that THEY should just get OVER IT.
Then you have some of the Black apologist who are desperately trying to seek your favor by saying that they will not
Serenasailor 1 year ago
@Serenasailor if non-White people think I am racist why would I help them? I don't help people who insult me. Further, if all White people are racist why do all non-White people want to live in countries where the most of us are?

What a lying missinforming fool. Furthermore, it was the Dems that historically were the party tied to the KKK. Lincoln was a simple republican God believing conservative, not a liberal God denying evolutionist. Futherthermore, evolution is the greatest conveyor of racism, not Christanity!
7Paul7air 2 years ago
@7Paul7air
Your point is kinda moot, and I think you need to reread your history. The roles of the parties have done a switch-a-roo; the Dems of past are what the current day Republicans are, and vice versa. This has nothing to do with just the brand name, but the ideological thinking in general.
You'd be more correct to say this: The Conservatives, especially those on the far right, have been tied to the KKK; Lincoln, during his time, was more of a moderate; your last point makes no sense.
darkelow 2 years ago
@darkelow The point is simple, in a word, Eugenics. Eugenics is the birth child of evolution. If one can make the perverse point that one group of people are less evolved they oppress them. The modern tool of eugenics is abortion and sterilizations. In other words, the evolutionist leftist elitist is out to control the population of "undesirables."
7Paul7air 1 year ago

7Paul7air 1 year ago
@darkelow There was no "switch-a-roo." Dems are still killing blacks, they just do it under the cover of planned parenthood. Blacks are targeted. It is the Republicans that champion life, not the using Dems. The seventh day of Obama's time in the WH he condemned all Americans to take part in the murder of babies everywhere America offers aid. Resurrect the Mexico policy and make it law!

@toastertown6 Hey Toastertown6. Thanks for responding to my comment. I am not sure what you mean by your statement of " like when you people say that the tea party based on race", my first question is what do you mean by "you people"? The leaders from what I have seen and read have not offered an alternative plan....
