Been playing so much tekken lately. So much fun. Well, I'm learning how to play Tekken, and I'm thinking about picking it up (either this or Tekken Hybrid). But great review as always. BTW, does anyone know any good modes or whatever to use to learn how to play better. Trying to get better with Lee and Raven.
Which version are you playing XBOX or PS3? And which one would you recommend to gamers. And is there a way of finding out which one has more online users, or which version sold more.

I never was a Tekken fan but I wish the other fighters would have taken ideas from it. Because Tekken aways had a good lineup of characters to choose from instead if, either, giving you very little charactrs to begin with or rationing you characters and ONLY giving you more character upon buying their new installment to the series, Games like Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Street Fighter 4.
The graphics are bad. Period. Any idiot can tell that. Have you played Crysis? Uncharted? Gears of War 2? Mass Effect 2? These graphics are just SCREAMING average.
Tekken 6 is a great game but loading times are sooo long, the character design is same as TK5 which gives it an aged kinda feel, the customisation are mainly repeats in other colors and is so expensive (sooo annoying), and campaign mode is repetitive. But on the plus side GREAT graphics, even better fighting, cool stages, improved online from TK5DR, and great new characters (top marks to lars, alisa and zafina!!!). this aint the best tekken but its satisfying enough!!!
Are you kidding me??? Customisation is larger than before. You can buy more hairs, more shirts, more pants, more colours, more hats and lots of other customisation items than before, so how that can annoy you?? Campaign may repeatitive, but that's the small minus point, because the cutcenes are true reason to play it.

Well... you perhaps should have done a little bit more research. Tekken 6 on PS3 and 360 is Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. It's not actually a year late on its arcade port, it's a different game from the one you're calling it. It's a port of the expansion.
There are a number of other discrepancies but whatever.
@kNIGHTWING01 nope tekken runs at 520p because the motion blur hides out the rough edges. with motion blur off the quality sligtly increases but its hardly notable. my personal opinion, tekken 6 looks best on ps3 on a standard definition tv.
Ive tried Tekken 6 before but for some reason. I never seem to play any other new Fighting game except for Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Bloody Roar. there has never been any other fighting game I liked to play after that. i agree with kwing here tekken has always been about precise timing and blocking.its the mind games you play with your opponents and the awesome feeling you get when you finally win a match.you try and fake your moves so that your opponent tries to hit you and you instead play your game.for me tekken 3 is still the best fighting game i have played and it ranks up there with sf2.i havent played tekken 6 but i played 5 and tis good not as good as 3.i guess 3 set the standard pretty high
U didnt mentioned that the loading screens takes forever and the graphics arent up to date, still its a good game i bought it for 55 euros and traded it in the next day for uncharted 2 the game just wasnt worth 55euros i will buy it again when it costs like 20 euros ...
If you have a ps3 and you like fighting games, pick up the Street fighter 4 Tournment edition stick. It's well worth the price. I have one and it blows my mind away with it's epic size and perfect buttons.

Regarding Tekken, I've lost all interest in the series. This fighting genre is dead, and this franchise will never reach the glory of it's predecessors. Tekken Tag Tournament was the best, while Tekken 2 had one of the best fucking soundtracks ever.
i don't think i will get this.i don't like fighting games.i like games like assassins creed 2(one of the best games ever) and uncharted 2(winner of the 2009 series) and others. anything that involves free running and fighting. i am thinking of getting uncharted 2 or modern warfare 2.please somebody help me
I'm glad you didn't reviewed this game when it came out, because the online sucked really bad, until a month later Namco releases the patch for it, and now the online works great.
The footage was from Nov during THanks giving. Back then I was only suppose to release 2 vids a month on gottgame. Cause if I did more they wouldnt pay me for the other vids. Now since I get paid more I do 3 or 4 vids a month for Gottgame and less for Game Knights.

Tekken is as close to real fighting as you can get in gaming. Aside from using super powered moves. The only characters that have monster un realistic moves are the Mishima family. Law is possible and so is Raven's sweeps and flips.
well, I've trained in Taekwondo for a few years, and... yeah, even though some acrobatics are possible, of course, they would simply not work that well in a fighting situation!
oh, and Law... Bruce Lee was the Man, but I bet you wouldn't see him grab a guy's leg and jump 8 feet in the air with it!

Oh I know VF, I never could get into. I tired again for Vf5. But I think the cast of Characters had better personalities in Tekken. Although Kagemaru is better then Raven hands down. Still Raven is pretty cool character too.
i don't agree that Tekken is as close to real fighting as you can get in gaming (it's not at all 'dynamic' enough for that), but i will say that most of the martial arts represented in the game, are very, very recognizable -- and that's saying something. sure, it's exaggerated and over-the-top, but that's why it's a game. the (basic!) moves belonging to each martial art you see in the game are modelled really well after their real life counterparts.

Anyway, I really agree with the review. I pretty much said the same in my review (text only, my capture card couldn't handle this). Gave it an 8.2. When I reviewed it I experienced a ton of lag, luckily that got fixed up quite a bit now.
Juggling was never this bad until the band system. Even after Jins monster combo in Tekken 5 players did not bounce off the ground and turn into a punchy bag like Tekken 6. Juggling may have existed but it wasn't flawed like this game.
@kNIGHTWING01 I disargee bouns are not that bad man. They were in Tekken 5 DR, and no one complain about them. Bounds actually make a lot characters useable at a higher level . Makes the wall more important in fights. And it's an easier way to maintain characters who are really good when given space. So, bounds are actually make Tekken even more balance to a point tiers are worthless.
oh, and SlyCopper23 is right, you were always able to block high and medium moves without pressing any button :P
maybe you should see some juggle videos of Tekken 5 on youtube, you'd be amazed with what you could do ^^ I know I am, and it seems we both like counterattacking rather than learning endless 10 button combos that can get canceled at the right time ^^
Just call me Sly, bro. And you shouldn't learn thsoe 10 button combos. the combos I'm learning( I play Yoshi and Lili) are like 9 or less long dude( not counting wall hits.). but there are combos like that, but thank to damage scaling a lot of people don't use them.
The misinformation came from press releases by Bandi Namco America. I got confused why people were saying stuff was new with Tekken and what wasn't. As far as i know rage and the bound system are new. But Juggling happened in TK 5 just not as big of train wreck as Tekken 6.

I've heard that the bound system is really cheap and actually ruins the .Your review seems to have confirmed that.

The rage system ruins the game more than the bound system. Search for "Tekken 6 Dear sister" and you will see what I mean.

I'm glad you didn't reviewed this game when it came out, because the online sucked really bad, until a month later Namco releases the patch for it, and now the online works great.

The footage was from Nov during THanks giving. Back then I was only suppose to release 2 vids a month on gottgame. Cause if I did more they wouldnt pay me for the other vids. Now since I get paid more I do 3 or 4 vids a month for Gottgame and less for Game Knights.

The game came out at the end of october, so around thanksgiving or so I believe is when the release the patch for it.

if you want a more realistic approach to fighting, try Virtua Fighter, even if it goes into Fairy Tale Land just a bit as well ;)
but hey, don't get me wrong I actually love both series :D it's just that I find funny that you think of Tekken as "realistic" ^^

I have to say, you got me veeeeery curious at what sort of experience to you have in "real fighting".
I mean... come on! Tekken, realistic? O_o yes, it's very strategic, but it's a button masher as well! and that's why it's so fun, it accomodates both novice and experts alike :P and I laughed a bit when you said that Tekken isn't about the combos... when actually, it is! :P I see what you mean, I'm more of a mindgames player, but you've got 10 hit combos here!

I took martial arts for a few years. Although I prefer Judo myself. Cause of the acrobatics.
Tekken is as close to real fighting as you can get in gaming. Aside from using super powered moves. The only characters that have monster un realistic moves are the Mishima family. Law is possible and so is Raven's sweeps and flips.

well, I've trained in Taekwondo for a few years, and... yeah, even though some acrobatics are possible, of course, they would simply not work that well in a fighting situation!
oh, and Law... Bruce Lee was the Man, but I bet you wouldn't see him grab a guy's leg and jump 8 feet in the air with it!
I'm sorry, but I really don't agree that Tekken is the closest you have to real fighting in gaming. seriously... don't you already did, but you gotta play VF first before making that statement ;)

Oh I know VF, I never could get into. I tired again for Vf5. But I think the cast of Characters had better personalities in Tekken. Although Kagemaru is better then Raven hands down. Still Raven is pretty cool character too.

i don't agree that Tekken is as close to real fighting as you can get in gaming (it's not at all 'dynamic' enough for that), but i will say that most of the martial arts represented in the game, are very, very recognizable -- and that's saying something. sure, it's exaggerated and over-the-top, but that's why it's a game. the (basic!) moves belonging to each martial art you see in the game are modelled really well after their real life counterparts.

Heh, first you say that this game has no rules and that you can use continues sweeps, and later on you say you're annoyed with people never changing it up ;)
Anyway, I really agree with the review. I pretty much said the same in my review (text only, my capture card couldn't handle this). Gave it an 8.2. When I reviewed it I experienced a ton of lag, luckily that got fixed up quite a bit now.

Dude you was always able to block high without doing anything in Tekken games. Also, there been juggles in Tekken. What are you talking about?

Juggling was never this bad until the band system. Even after Jins monster combo in Tekken 5 players did not bounce off the ground and turn into a punchy bag like Tekken 6. Juggling may have existed but it wasn't flawed like this game.

@kNIGHTWING01 I disargee bouns are not that bad man. They were in Tekken 5 DR, and no one complain about them. Bounds actually make a lot characters useable at a higher level . Makes the wall more important in fights. And it's an easier way to maintain characters who are really good when given space. So, bounds are actually make Tekken even more balance to a point tiers are worthless.

oh, and SlyCopper23 is right, you were always able to block high and medium moves without pressing any button :P
maybe you should see some juggle videos of Tekken 5 on youtube, you'd be amazed with what you could do ^^ I know I am, and it seems we both like counterattacking rather than learning endless 10 button combos that can get canceled at the right time ^^

Just call me Sly, bro. And you shouldn't learn thsoe 10 button combos. the combos I'm learning( I play Yoshi and Lili) are like 9 or less long dude( not counting wall hits.). but there are combos like that, but thank to damage scaling a lot of people don't use them.

as far as reviews go..this is a terrible review of a game. As SlyCooper23 said, you've always been able to block automatically and do juggle combos.

The misinformation came from press releases by Bandi Namco America. I got confused why people were saying stuff was new with Tekken and what wasn't. As far as i know rage and the bound system are new. But Juggling happened in TK 5 just not as big of train wreck as Tekken 6.
