  • Who else likes Up, Up, and Away (In My Beautiful Balloon) by the 5th Dimension?

  • this is el dorado crusing slow jam. i mean this is the real deal. Lionel B Richie got cuts like this on the sidelines ain't nobody post Stevie Wonder Prime touching LBR's Pen and Pad Skills and he threw down vocally. the commodores had that cold groove going on as well. this cut is crying for a extended version on the islands, so much flavor

  • I bought the parent album ("Midnight Magic") based on this song and "Sail On", and wasn't disappointed.

  • i used to play this on my headset and sing it to my pet hamster henry

  • @AyeeitsEMMAx3 lmfaooooooooooooo!!!!

  • @AyeeitsEMMAx3 Aww that's cute :) I had a friend, Heidi, who had a pet hamster. The hamster was very cuddly. He even got along with my cat (who did not eat rodents). We had some good times introducing our pets. :) but we played them songs from The Lion King, not funk... lol maybe the next pet I meet I will sing a funky song to. ;-) Do you like Dip Trip Flip Fantasia by Cantaloupe?

  • FUNKY!!!!

  • MAN, I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS SONG IN LONG TIME.....8-TRACK LONG TIME!!!!

  • @rankine67 that is so sweet :) I'm glad you made your dreams come true by using music :) I think people should use music more to convince people to do good things. :)

  • love this track !!!

  • one of there most underated songs.they were all in the zone on this album.

  • @LEVONALD though some reviewers called this album "non-essential", they obviously don't know the magic of the Commodores! Ron LaPread was showing off in a big way on the bass on this song and others. This has some of my favorite Richie vocal pieces (this song, "Wonderland", "Lovin' You", not to mention his own ballads), and Walter Orange's vocal on the opening track "Gettin' It" is nothing short of spectacular. A fun ride from start to finish.

  • @DrClaw77 Hey I couldn't agree more. It's tunes like this that always remind me of my little years and grooving to infectious album cuts like this. And this is such a happy tune. You can't help but smile when you listen to it. And YES! LaPread was sho nuff jammin on the bass on this.

  • @DrClaw77 now thats a review for a real commodores fan!...faves besides are wonderland, lovin you...and sexy lady (love t. mcclary was featured with a song of his own creation on the albums and to show off his soul guitar)

  • @LEVONALD Agreed, once it gets past the first 20 seconds or so.

  • @LEVONALD Word. Also, "Say Yeah". That song is some top notch soul.

  • This is one of my all -time favorite tracks by The Commodores. Forget Three Times a lady & Easy, this is thr real deal!!

    Great post.

  • Absolutely fantastic!
