I killed lots of Sires on the campaign and Horde and I still don't know what thoes things are. I remember Niles talking about Mt. Kanar and something about them being a genetic bridge to their future? Whatever that means? He also said that they were irreplacable specimens. I guess that's why we only saw them on one act. Hopefully we'll find out their origin on Gears of War 3.

@polarplant  They're impossible to kill if you don't have a lancer! Especially on insane, I forgot about them and only had a shotgun and flamethrower.

The Sires really should have been in more than one level, they were one of my favorite enemies of the game. It's like: "It's on the ground! Is it dead? *Sire gets up* Nope" They really are a mysterious enemy, I hope Epic reveals what they truly are.

they r pre locust u see niles was a doctor fucked up one who created or helped create the locust proff of this he says he took people to mount katar hmmm what else is at katar nexus, ruth (collectable in that act) looks like the locust queen (hair and face), the sires skin resemble the locust in a way, thats the story and they probably will reveal it in the next game =) i just pieced this togeather tho i may be wrong but im almost sure im right
