Why does he pat the trowel on the board when its loaded? What is the purpose of putting the morter so much farther ahead of the block your actually laying? Thanks
Im interested to know how would you guys finish the internal wall of these blocks? In the UK we would either wet plaster the walls or we would dot and dab drywall onto the blockwork then give the drywall a skim coat of plaster.
DONT BE SO CRITICAL OF ANOTHER MANS WORK!! when your the boss, you can take your time, use any tool it takes to insure an accurate / clean job!!! Ive seen some of work you speed demons do, and it normally looks like crap up close!!! TAKE your time, enjoy what your doing, and at the end of the day what matters, is a happy customer!!!! That if you ever meet the customer, some of you only collect a paycheck, and never meet the client. OH by the way, ITS TITLED "STRESS FREE BLOCK LAYING"
Why the hell is this guy facing his block up with a 4 ft level when he is running to the line. I could have built 4 courses in the time this boot layed 1 . And to all the people who say speed isnt everything tell your fucking boss that shit. You better lay em fast and lay em right wnen you work for me. Im not saying kill yourself but this guy would be gone down the road as soon as he pulled that level out while beating a fucking line.
@spiegelsteven haha omg your so right right now im doing an apprenticeship and our crew 3 guys including me go 10 times as fast and just as good we lays 1000 blocks each in 10 hours , hahaha and whats with the laborer walking and doing the shovel shuffle save your steps eh move the wheel barrow right up to a zone load half and move it unload the other half move some blocks then mix another batch haha
i thought pro masons only level one side of a blockwall,do to the irregularaties in the block,i once got fired for checking both sides of a block wall overall good tho!
There's a Couple things you need to work on. You need to Lose all Levels when running the Line & and I noticed you're only getting a 4 inch Spread get more mud on that Trowel!
not bad, only lose the torpedo level and move 5X faster. I agree with the line on the working side , but why work backwards? And what is with the long level? That is what the line is for.
@evnmny LMAO at using a torpedo level on the wall when u have a line that is as novice as i have seen and you are right no torpedo level and lay forward and he would be faster and alot more comfortable wow they cut the webs out of all those damn block and they all couldn't have landed right in the web that's alot of wasted labor hell i make my labor spread and head for me when he isn't doing anything else only way they going to learn to make it on the wall unless they want to labor forever
Question for ya, why are you ranging it even though youre laying with a line.
I also usually put the line on the backside of the wall so I dont have to pick my block up over the line, but to each their own eh? Nice work again! Looks relaxing.
Great video i have always wanted to lay concrete block.I love masonry. Why did you use rebar supports for the block work.thats the first time ive seen rebar being used for a concrete block house.
Nice, I can see what you mean by stress free, you dont seem to be in an extreme rush, I will put up some videos of us boys laying big 20.01 serious under the pump and just watch how much faster and physcally demanding it is, id much rather this..Looks neat and tidy aswell, like the idea of a small level to check lipping etc. Good vid.

i'd say 2 blocks a minute is good enough. but 7 in 7 minutes is a little slow. but whatever, everyones got there own pace when theyre bein perfect

@MasterWelder1991 It adds strength to the wall. I believe general code for them is 32" O.C.
