  • Did anyone who saw this when they were little connect that the end was apart of the commerical and they weren't real? Because I sure didn't, I used to leave peanut butter out to share with my house hippo..

  • I want a house elephant!

  • hahaha this is fantastic! i remember watching this on YTV when i was little:p

  • I loved these commercials in the way back. <3

  • When I saw this I wanted it to be true so freaking badly

  • What year did this ad come out in?

  • When ever i saw this commerical i always though the girl was lieing! I had a cat and in the night when i heard her running around i though she was chasing the house hippo back into the closet. :3

can't sleep house hippo will eat me

can't sleep house hippo will eat me

  • nooo, shuddup! theyre real! :(

  • i always remember this commercial from when i was like four, and im 10 now sooo ya!

  • Yeah...like we should also question what the "news" media regurgitates and whatever comes from the White House.

  • i saw one once :3 it was sooo cute !!

  • okay so my cousins left stories on another one and heres mine.

i believed in house hippos (i put a bag of chips in the closet! also i always saw it muted with capions (i could read then)) and i often looked for them and i thought i found one i started squealing...but it was just a shoe.

when i first heard the commercial on volume i started to cry. not because they arent real, because of THAT FREAKIN ZOMBIE NOISE AT THE END THAT SCARED ME! (also the end is sorta creepy, you know? it just is.)

  • Hahaha when i was little i thought this was real until i realized i live in north america..and ive never seen one.

  • I actually thought this was true !!! LOL, and then at the end i figured out it wasnt :( Hahhaa

  • i remember this comertial its bombb

  • You know, the people in charge of the whole "a message from concerned children's advertisers" always manage to give their ads this weird/creepy/eerie sort of a feel to them.. Kinda like an old thriller/horror film if you know what I mean, like in a different way, but nevertheless its really weird.

  • Jeeze, these House Hippos sound so cool and real! I'm glad I live near where they are.. Tomorrow I'm gonna go find me one! :)

  • Seems like they are tricking people to believe the hippo was possible for a split second, and show how fast and easily we all come to believe everything the media tells us is true. (With More more realistic possibility's of course)

  • This ad is plain win

  • North American House Hippo , WE SALUTE YOU

  • When I was little I use to leave out bags of chips and peanut butter sandwiches on the kitchen floor for weeks and no hippos ever came, I was so sad.

  • homg, i did the same thing!

  • @Trempolo lolz thats sad and cute

  • @Trempolo @TheOpenMinded12460 This reminds me of my Orange Cream Tabby Cat named, Pumpkin.

  • @Trempolo @TheOpenMinded12460 I bet plenty of mice came though.

  • lol I always thought they were real too. ):

    <3

  • I have one of those.

  • wat

    its not tru

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • thanks for putting that on:P XD

  • I seriously believed that house hippos were real because I kind of just blanked out at the end of the commercial all the time.

  • this commercial is scary, at ;49 seconds a weird "chant" starts repeating in the background right when they say think about what your watching. subliminal advertising!

  • holy I never noticed that BEFORE!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

  • Whoa that is seriously fucked up...

  • I think those are supposed to be nature noises.

  • i wish house hippos were real.
