Don't buy an n97.. they are slow, laggy & buggy. "Look", cpu is @ 416Mhz and they have very little user available ram (like 36mb if you are lucky) . to top that off you must pay for just about every application on the phone. like quick office, and Adobe reader which hog up memory even if you don't use the apps. If that's not enough there is this certificate program that makes installing software a pain in the ass. don't buy any phone with Symbian OS. It sucks!

I agree! I had the n97 for a week and sold it real fast. Phones hardware was too slow for the software, and I also had the GPS problem which meant that even if I left the phone stationary under a blue sky for 30mins, I wouldnt get a satellite lock.

Am so glad I sold it, even though I lost 10 Euros. Even my N95 was better than this piece of junk!

Am now using the Omnia HD, which is an amazing kit, esp after I modded the firmware!

I'm not an iPhonelover/Nokia-hater, I love the N97. But the iPhone is just so populair that everyone makes iPhonelike themes because they think it's so cool. The Nokia interface is not that populair and great so people who have the iPhone love that and probably don't want a nokiatheme to 'fuck up their iPhone' wich they are so proud of.

The iphone just doesn't have the hardware like the N97, excluding the cpu and the same amount of internal memory. I don't like the iphone personally, but I do think that the iphone's interface looks neat. But I would just get a theme rather than pay for an emulator that would just make it run slow. The only thing the iphone really has better is the cpu, thats it. But that's just my personal opinion, don't hate me for it!! Lol! =)

The only reason people would hate me for my comment is because I've noticed that people who like the iphone get very defensive if you're not saying that the iphone is the best! I know, Nokia fans are the same, and although I do sway more towards Nokia's, if I was looking for an upgrade and it wasn't a Nokia then so be it. As it happens though, my last 2 upgrades have been Nokia's. =) Honestly, if it hadn't been for the crap camera and windows mobile, I would have bought an SE Xperia.

Of course I do read up about specifications on phones and watch video's, read any reviews if there is any, decide if I like the look of the phone, etc, etc. The N97 won, even if a lot of the reviews weren't too favourable. With FW updates it will just get better. =)

I don't hate windows mobile, but I have more friends saying they don't like windows mobile compared to friends saying they like it. I've never actually tried it myself. But until people start saying "I'm so glad I swapped to windows mobile from Symbian." I'll stick with symbian. Plus, most of my phones have been symbian so I know how to get around things and make phones function the way I want it to. =)
