You conveniently forgot to mention that South Africa now has one of the highest unemployment rates in the world, highest AIDS infestation in the world, the highest violent crime rate per capita in the world, one of the poorest education systems, infrastructure collapsing, Police Commissioner in jail, his successor suspended..... The rainbow nation did very well indeed. Becoming just another African country - as they say, history tends to repeat itself.
South African colonial and Apartheid past caused huge disparities that still exist as you pointed out! I grew up in the dusty streets of Eldorado Park, I now live in Riverlea, I don't desire to live in the suberbs, opulance tend to make those with new money unessarily proud and arrogant!, so I still experience Apartheid in most ways...in fact, in some strange way life was a bit easier back then, though I would hate to return..I am too contempteous of white domination
