These guys had so many great songs & could also bring it live yet they somehow just began fading away in the late 1990s & have now officially retired with little fanfare. That would have seemed inconceivable 15 years ago. Some legendary bands (Queen, Sabbath, Velvet Underground) experience a renaissance or reinterest either in later years or even after disbanding but the historical standing of a few (Pearl Jam, Fleetwood Mac, REM) have actually declined over the years. Very surprising to me.

SONG IS ABOUT THE DEVASTATION OF WARS AND HOW LIES, GREED, MANUFACTURED HATE & MANUFACTURED FEAR STARTS WARS. ALL WARS CARRIED OUT BY BLIND PATRIOTISM HAS DEADLY LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES.
95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die

Is this the song that was in that guitar game? I wonder why they chose this song, there are better rem songs, guitar-wise, than orange crush. Begin the Begin would've been perfect. Pretty much the first grunge song, too. All the grunge bands listened to rem.
Poets Of The Fall and Cage The Elephant are great too. Poets Of The Fall sound very melancholy in a good way, and Cage The Elephant sound very funky, bluesy, and punky in a very good way. Try Poets Of The Fall Late Goodbye, Carnival Of Rust, Sorry Go Around, Lift, Locking Up The Sun. Also Try Cage The Elephant; Ain't No Rest For The Wicked, Shake Me Down, Back Against The Wall, and Right Before My Eyes (I saw The Whole World Loss Control).
This concert was held in my neighborhood in Atlanta. I invited them to Chastain Park. The bull horn is because the neighbors said NO to REM, they will be tool loud. Hence the bull horn.
Agent Orange. Used to defoliate jungle. Still kills and deforms children in Vietnam today. Polutes land and water. Thanks to the Monsanto Company. One of the largest chemical companies in the world today. Many of the service men who handled it became ill and died from cancers and tumours.

@corinthian93 As well as thousands of other chemicals that help keep you from getting cancer and heart disease, helps keep you fat and happy and able to whinge about them. Without Monsanto and the products that companies like them provide, you would be scratching out a meager existence as a dirt farmer, at the whims of nature, not tippy tapping on your broadband connection with a full fridge of food from the grocery store.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@corinthian93 Certainly not, if they produced those products under fraudulent or willfully negligent conditions. If not, just because you don't *like* Monsanto doesn't mean they are "evil" or that their products should be outlawed.
Has Monsanto made mistakes? Sure. Did some of those mistakes end in an innocent person's death? Yes. Did Monsanto *kill* that person? No. Is Monsanto evil? No. Is Monsanto good? No.
Monsanto is a company. An animal. Amoral. Behaving according to the environment.
It's not about drugs. It is about Stipe singing about his favorite soda. It's not even that. Why does everyone want to find something in a song? It's just an incredible song from some dudes from Georgia who are not racists.

Curse Agent Orange! I know so many sick ex soldiers who came back from Nam ill. Love REM! Saw them 2 nights in a row in KC, MO. First was with soon to be ex-wife (separated at time) and the 2nd with best friend (a woman). Ex saw me at concert with best friend and threw a fit..lol. It was unbelieveable! Thank God for REM and the great show they put on to divert attention from this mess!
