  • god my tebow

    /watch?v=BEZuZXj3T2s

  • This is rock

  • OMG it's Mr. Clean!!!

  • Rock!!Rock!!Rock!!

  • Lol, best incomprehensible song ever!!! What the....? If 1 million people saw this, how can it have so few likes? CLICK THE LIKE BUTTON ALREADY!!!!!! As for the people who clicked the dislike button, spontaneously combust, Haters. Or get your eyes checked, because a thumbs down button does not deserve to be clicked on this video.

  • These guys had so many great songs & could also bring it live yet they somehow just began fading away in the late 1990s & have now officially retired with little fanfare. That would have seemed inconceivable 15 years ago. Some legendary bands (Queen, Sabbath, Velvet Underground) experience a renaissance or reinterest either in later years or even after disbanding but the historical standing of a few (Pearl Jam, Fleetwood Mac, REM) have actually declined over the years. Very surprising to me.

  • Now,..thatz a song. Similar to songs what my dad used to sing with our native CREE heritage

  • first REM song I ever heard.

  • THUMBS UP IF U THINK THE LEAD SINGER LOOKS LIKE THE BALD VERSION OF KEVIN HARVICK

  • great band

  • pfff I already miss REM.

  • Thanks !

  • Vietnamese people deal with the horrific side effects of Agent Orange on a daily basis, never forget the horror the USA brought upon Vietnam.

  • i though this song was about my guitar amp

  • That voice man...who wouldnt want to sound like that all the time?

  • going to miss you !! one of the greatest bands of all time !!! lucky enough to have seen them many times around europe at different festivals always played a blinding set !! this is one of my favorite tunes of theres !! letting people know of the effects of agent orange dropped by the american forces in vietnam !! still killing people today and the company that produced it is still one of the biggest petro chemical companys in the world !! SHAMEFUL !! STILL THE DOLLAR RULES HUH !!

  • what dvd is this ??

  • @frecs09

    It's called Perfect Square.

    Highly recommended.

  • best video description I've ever read.

  • I love the fact that nowbody would dare put down this song... I love it thanks you so much for all the good times REM. We all love you!

  • Goodbye R.E.M. R.I.P

  • @evertonio i thumbed this down cuz that sucks balls

  • Es ist eine Schweinerei das youtube songs wie Imitation of Life sperren tut unmöglich

  • Breathtaking... redefines supersonic

  • Monsanto=Evil

  • R.e.m is the stuipest person I heard of

  • @michaelbarron99 - R.E.M. is a band, not a person. It is made up of multiple persons!

  • @michaelbarron99 What does that mean when you incorrectly spell 'stupidest'?

    Have a great day!

  • i created 'agent Blue' 50% 24D 50% Glyphosate and it kills everything green but i think the 24d has fucked me up from using with no safety gear.

  • Thank You .51

  • song facts: This was not the first R.E.M. song to deal with the Vietnam War. That distinction goes to "Body Count," an early unreleased song that they played live many times

  • from song facts: Stipe's father served in Vietnam in the helicopter corps.

Stipe sometimes introduced this in concert by singing the US Army jingle, "Be all that you can be, in the Army."

  • Wonder about the songs you love and the stories behind them? What is the lyrics talking about .Visit songfacts(dot)com to have your favorite songs deciphered in the artists own words .

  • What is the title of this DVD anyone know?

    thank you..

  • @SDsailor7 Perfect square live.

  • @walter2264 Thank you walter..

    best wishes

  • @SDsailor7 My pleasure brilliant isnt it?

  • @SDsailor7 Yes it is..

    best wishes

  • Sounds alot like the studio version. How tight is that? Love his german accent.

  • my mother lived down the street from them in georgia. gotta sneak peek of them as a garage band

  • lol i saw these guys on sesimy street :)

  • Round Up also works.

  • never mattered what their lyrics are about-always such powerful songs-thanks for letting us know what this one means though-interesting, thanks

  • didn't know that that's what the song pertains to -thanks for the info. the band to me have always had obscure lyrics which has never detracted from the power of the songs but it's good to know what these lyrics mean...thanks!!

  • THIS IS THE BEST REM SONG

  • Is this the song that was in that guitar game? I wonder why they chose this song, there are better rem songs, guitar-wise, than orange crush. Begin the Begin would've been perfect. Pretty much the first grunge song, too. All the grunge bands listened to rem.

  • la guerra fa schifo!!

  • What a brilliant performance. It's always nice when a band like R.E.M. "brings it" live and makes a better masterpiece than the studio original....

  • yessssssss rem ok friends

  • +1 for the megaphone

  • oompa loompa lompity doo :)

  • I don't care if this song is about agent orange or something else....

but mike stipe singing this song in a megaphone gives me goosebumps.

  • Whenever I tell people I partially grew up in Athens, GA they always mention REM! Love these guys =)

  • there's no way to explain what you all mean to me. Thank you for such a jerk.

  • Monsanto = death

  • Poets Of The Fall and Cage The Elephant are great too. Poets Of The Fall sound very melancholy in a good way, and Cage The Elephant sound very funky, bluesy, and punky in a very good way. Try Poets Of The Fall Late Goodbye, Carnival Of Rust, Sorry Go Around, Lift, Locking Up The Sun. Also Try Cage The Elephant; Ain't No Rest For The Wicked, Shake Me Down, Back Against The Wall, and Right Before My Eyes (I saw The Whole World Loss Control).

  • This concert was held in my neighborhood in Atlanta. I invited them to Chastain Park. The bull horn is because the neighbors said NO to REM, they will be tool loud. Hence the bull horn.

  • @ottomatic34 WRONG!!!! The Bullhorn has ALWAYS been used for this song, even on the original recording so your explanation is a FAIL!

  • Agent Orange. Used to defoliate jungle. Still kills and deforms children in Vietnam today. Polutes land and water. Thanks to the Monsanto Company. One of the largest chemical companies in the world today. Many of the service men who handled it became ill and died from cancers and tumours.

  • @tomcatt3 The Monsanto Company is even bigger in American now than it was back then, still producing harmful chemicals.

  • @sparsematrix Does that justify the other harmful half of their products?

  • @corinthian93 lefty Poof!

  • @mmmbilly

    grow the fuck up.

  • @VistaBoner Eat my cock you liberal vege!

  • @corinthian93 Damn right. Arguably, even more powerful; they now control the future of nearly every crop on the planet.

  • @corinthian93 In Mother America and the world. Keep the good fight up. So many are misinformed.

  • @tomcatt3 yep i learned bout them in environmental science class senior year of HS.

  • @tomcatt3

My grandfather died from cancer due to agent orange exposer in Vietnam. Thanks spreading the word.

  • semplicemente grandi.....

  • it's definitely about agent orange. Thank you, metelmoose.

  • This song is about getting out of a disastrous relationship, thankfully lucky to get out with your spine intact and a good soda.

  • Joohvis, it's about agent a gas type weapon used in nam by us soldiers

  • Great Everything

  • super dofferr ang ganda ng banda nyou to the max ang banda

  • It's not about drugs. It is about Stipe singing about his favorite soda. It's not even that. Why does everyone want to find something in a song? It's just an incredible song from some dudes from Georgia who are not racists.

  • stupid ass comments on drug use , this song has as much to do with dong drugs as born in the usa .RETARDED youth get a clue

  • everyone mark all the drug comments for spam!!

  • uh guys, I'm pretty sure the orange crush mentioned is for agent orange, the chemical used in Vietnam to destroy crops and jungles. This song is about a guy going into 'nam. Why are you guys arguing over drugs? it has nothing to do with that.

  • Poland is still waiting for you, Michael

  • The guy with the Thank you sign is a pure win :D

  • Crystal meth is my orange crush:)

  • hey, lets just quit bashing each other here. some drugs are bad, some people are too harsh when dealing with drug users. alot of my friends smoke pot and drink, i don't. i have nothing against it, but some people do. here's a good FACT, everyones different. peace out bro's

  • @windaddyflex what are you talking about - this song is about AGENT ORANGE

  • @ricknicklesarts I know, some trollers were bitching about how anyone who uses drugs is going to hell. I do know what agent orange is and why it was protested. Thank you for your comment

  • @windaddyflex I had a friend die from brain cancer due to agent orange

  • @ricknicklesarts That sucks,

  • Comment removed

  • if you read the pamphlet in the best of album they said them selves they dont know what this song is about so for you to say its about any one thing is wrong just to assume

  • I just LOVE that drum-ending. So dynamic. tadadadada!

  • is mike mills just the best backing vocalist? nails it every time!

  • 35 people do not have their orange crushes

  • The best rockgroup today from the USA.

  • Great song and perfectly performed. Bravo.

  • this just happens to be the best song ever....

except all the other best songs ever

  • @redscribbler

red...I agree, there are too many "best songs ever" to name ))

  • Was at this concert, was absolutely GREAT!

  • this band has changed me as a musician.

  • @Warrwench same

  • I didn't know Bill Murray could play electric guitar :}

  • @happyislucky1 umm Peter Buck looks nothing like Bill Murray ...

  • AMAZING SHOW AND SONG

REM IS WAY MORE SUPERIOR TO TODAYS BANDS

  • awsome sound

  • Originally this song was going to be called Agent Orange after the chemical used during the Vietnam war to kill Vietnamese crops to stop the NVA

  • 34 people dont have their orange crush

  • this song makes u wanna hit something it gets the masses moving!!!!!!!

  • The bullhorn IS cool. I think he stole the idea from Gibby Haynes, though - these guys definitely played a gig or two with the Butthole Surfers some time in the 80s.

  • @blank5317

I may be wrong but i believe Tom Waite used to use then bullhorn.

  • sexy big jugs @ 2:22

  • I'm an ex-stoner and even I know this song is not about any kind of dope. It's about agent-orange. Not a loser either but thinking about hitting the bong. lol

  • I am old, forgive me but one, I just don't like this song and two, thought he was singing about the drink Orange Crush. This one is just too loud for this old granny.

  • Wiesbaden, baby! Woohoo!

  • Genuine punk!!!

  • CHILL OUT. EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO INTERPRET HIS OR HER OWN WAY. -THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED ART!

  • He's talking about the Star Trek episode where a drink called Orange Crush was a soothing seditave for Spock when he freaked out once a year.

  • He could be singing about the Pop, Orange Crush, lmao

  • thumbs up for michael stipe and REM!

  • Michael Stipe é showman o cara é sinistro!!!!!!

  • This would be even better if Michael Stipe would stop yelling into that bullhorn. That's just a distraction from a really great song...

  • @DenverTide Noooooooo...the bullhorn is cool as shit

  • Great live track and video. But I've gotta say, re: "REM is a band that has been nothing but themselves for over 20 years" - REM changed, became more pop, after they left IRS. I imagine that was due to the influence of Atlantic (?) records. I haven't really liked anything they did since "Green", and strangely that's when they hit not only the mainstream but the bigtime.

    Better? Eh.

  • <3 the BASS

  • is the singer gay?

  • @armyman090 I've heard he's bi

  • @ScottJ794 damn... good song from a bi singer... gives me the shivers!!!

  • @armyman090 yup!

  • @armyman090 He's not gay, straight or bi according to him. He said that he's an "equal-opportunity lech" and had relationships with both sexes. He then went on to say that "I think there is a line between gay and queer, and for me, queer describes something that's more inclusive of the grey areas."

  • @armyman090 - Who cares! He is a great performer!

  • @armyman090 who cares

  • @pinklotusalex I do.I wana fuck that that bald dude. Then i'll tell every body i got aids from rem, or at least one of them....yeaa..,,,,,,,,,

  • @pinklotusalex I do.I wana fuck that that bald dude. Then i'll tell every body i got aids from rem, or at least one of them....yeaa..,,,,,,,,,sorry dont as dont tell army dude

  • ricky gervais listens to this while squeezing karl pilkingtons head

  • god i remember this song ♥

  • amazing song.

  • is he gay?honestly?

  • @MrEbichan

    Yeah, but so what? :)

  • @MrEbichan hes a bi and yet nobody cared

    it was hardly reported

ive been an rem fan for some time and i only found out a few months ago

  • I'm not a REM fan, but this one is GREAT...

  • nice

  • I saw them play at stirling castle in 1999.......

  • genius!

  • fanfuckingtastic

  • The best thing to come out of Athens, GA since Herschel Walker!

  • @daniellreed1 AMEN BROTHER !!!

  • Orange Crush is a fantastic song.. and this version is great! ;-)

I love the chorus when Michael Stipe sings "High on the roof..." and Mike Mills is just singing 'oooohh... ooh..'.. it sounds great. ;-)

  • For some reason rem reminds me of the tragicly hip

  • great singer, great bassist, great guitarist, great drummer, great song, great band. 5/5

  • the mega phone came from when they were on top of the pops bbc1, they were not equipt to have artists singing live, he had no idea how to mime as he only sings live so he had the great idea to put the mega phone in front of his lips to disguise he had to mime, changed the song forever

  • According to Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to Agent Orange, resulting in 400,000 deaths and disabilities, and 500,000 children born with birth defects

  • i always thought it was about the soda haha

  • @guitarcrazed188 I did too...at first..don't feel bad

  • Singing through a megaphone is basass!

  • Rockband...

  • Classic original song unlike the pre-manufactured crap and ripoff remakes of today...

  • geil! exessive! beautiful.

  • Wiesbaden 2003 and i was there!

Great Concert - greetings from Germany

  • Curse Agent Orange! I know so many sick ex soldiers who came back from Nam ill. Love REM! Saw them 2 nights in a row in KC, MO. First was with soon to be ex-wife (separated at time) and the 2nd with best friend (a woman). Ex saw me at concert with best friend and threw a fit..lol. It was unbelieveable!
