@iPhoneNinja14 I don't remember! But the fstop wouldn't have made a difference in the view finder. Whatever the setting, it's always wide open between snaps.
watching this video I see that this focuses as fast if not a little faster than my 28-135mm USM. Like i stated in my other post this would be awesome with VC.
I like it. I think this is the best option for canon crop cameras. 17-55IS may be better in some respects but
- it's much more expensive
- much larger, heavier and longer (can't use built-in flash on wide end)
- flares and ghosts more (shooting towards light sources). Tamron is very good in this dept.
The lens is sharp from f2.8 on the wide end. On my copy image quality starts to deteriorate towards the longer end (35-50mm) but it's till acceptable in my opinion.
I believe all the EF-mount lenses have motors in them. Canon doesn't have a motor in the camera body like some other mounts, so there is no other way for AF.
guyz, would you like to tell, why my 7D with lens tamron 17-50mm 2,8.
sometime cant capture the picture?
it is because of what ?

@joecess08 How does it fail? Does it not focus and you can't take the picture? Or does it take a picture but there is something wrong with it?

Isn't it faster at autofocusing, than the ones in the other 17-50 videos in here?
jacobnyborg 3 years ago
The other video I posted here shows the same lens. I don't know how fast AF is for this lens in other mounts, esp. without a built-in motor.
ptys007 3 years ago
i guess this one isnt with built-in motor(a16n2)for nikon ?

This is the canon version (with built-in motor).
