This is why I left teaching. I hated sitting in meetings discussing items that should be common sense. You can teach any child math: Step 1 You have to know how to actually do math yourself. Step 2 You model how to do the math. Step 3 You let the students practice. Step 4 You walk around the room to make sure they understand and are working the problem correctly. Step 5 You reteach those who are having difficulty. Step 6 You reassess and then you may proceed to the next step.
