Do you have any idea how much I love you? I have never met you, nor do I think that I ever will. But this has brought back cherished childhood memories and I thank you. I have not seen it for at least 12 years.
There's nothing bad about this movie, except Brer Rabbit gets trapped and terrified by either or both Brer Fox and Brer Bear a few times, and Johnny gets run over by a bull.
This is America, damn it!! This movie should be released legally. So called liberals violently suppress anything they think others shouldn't have the right to see. Of course it can be gotten illegally. It serves as an example of how many of those who call themselves liberals, actually hate freedom. They are now the true fascists. I guess I'd better make a back up copy of my Bible, before they ban that too.
@lukevsfrodo Actually Bill Cosby bought the rights to the movie because he claims it is racist. You can buy it legally on the internet, it will be in english but the copy comes from Germany. When I found it I bought 4 copies
Whoever you are, THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this movie! I've been waiting for YEEEARS to watch this movie, but never found a VHS copy (let alone, a DVD) And now, I finally got to see it! HECK YEAH! XD
To review, it was a little slow paced, but the comedy and the cartoon shorts make up for it!
Again thanks for sharing this movie with all of us!
How anybody could see this as anything but a beautiful, fanciful childrens' story is beyond me! The only people who could see this as racist or offensive, have no sense of history or seeing satire/metaphor. I think the overall message of this film is very anti-racism and (in a time of segregation in the US) pictured a better world where black/white, rich/poor socialized together like children will before they are made cynical by adults.
I'm only 20 and I loved this film as a kid! But now VHS isn't about so much (and mum flogged my videos) I can't get it! :( Thanks for putting this up!!! :)
Even though Disney won't release this on DVD or Blu-Ray (face it, the NAACP and politically-correct nazis will have a fit), I still think they secretly want everyone to see the movie.
Why else would they base a ride off of it, or not bother to have this video taken down?
Thank you so much for posting this. I've wanted to see this film for years, but haven't been able to because someone labeled it "Racist" and Disney vaulted it to not risk offending anyone....This film was magnificent, and I think those who want to keep it out of view are selfish and flat out WRONG!!!!! I'm glad I saw it. Peace.
My dad was born in '39 and told me how they felt about it in his home in Tennessee. He and my uncle said that all the kids there absolutely adored Uncle Remus, and on a couple of occasions, beat up some of the other kids who badmouthed him. Now that's coming from the mouth of an old white Tennessee bootleggin' hillbilly. I grew up with this movie only because my dad had a copy on VHS. It's a charming piece of Southern heritage, a bit idealistic in places, but good grief, it's DISNEY.
this movie deserves to be on blu-ray. honestly, I showed this to my little sister for the first time and she loved it. she HATES how disney has become.
Thank you for showing this movie. My Mother took me to the movies to see it and I couldn't remember it so well. What a wonderful feeling to have the chance to see it and remember it. Nice to know my grandchildren will be able to enjoy it too.
I always cried when the little girl, Ginny was teased by the boy's, I laughed my head off during the 'tar baby' scene and was traumatized when the bull went after the boy. Today the biggest conflict in a 'Disney' film is if Hannah Montana loses her lipgloss.
can't thank you enough for putting this up! my dad grew up with this movie and it's his favorite disney movie! we enjoyed watching it together! :) I had never seen it and had always wanted to
I either do, or do not know the answer, so I'm gonna' ask.
Is this the PAL, Region 2 version, slowed down to the NTSC, Region 1 speed? because I think whoever made this possible did a spectacular job. No japaneesse subtitles, no 4% speed up, no nothing. just right

The only real racism is in the F'n audience. Burn in Hell, morons.

How did Disney make the copper-ish brown puppy vocalize at the end of the film?

@TheCarlitosbug at what time does it do that? i didn't catch it
artisticgirlk330 1 month ago
@TheCarlitosbug - Teenchy doesn't have any dialogue (being a dog and all). You must've been hearing Brer Frog's low-pitched singing. *Shrugs*
