  • when i try to remove the old string it never come out at the back i think it's stuck what shall i do? please help!!!

  • guys I need help

I have a squier stratocaster tremolo bridge guitar and when I place a heavy gauge set of stings , the bridge gets lifted a bit and detunes the guitar

    what do i do ?

  • @fleeper4 im having the same problem did you ever get it fixed

  • @111pernell yep , I found out the day after

Soo what you need to do is

get 5 tremolo springs , and place them in the back so they can hold the tremolo down and loosten the neck so there's more sting action.BUT if you use strings with a heavyer gauge than 10 DON'T TUNE YOUR GUITAR TO STANDARD TUNING .Аll the string tension with keep the bridge back in the air & the neck could bend + the tremolo is straped on to the guitar and if it flotes up for too long the body of the guitar will break

  • what benefits does removing the back panel do to the electric guitar. i been so curious because when i watch live videos on people they would play without it

  • I just keep twisting the tuning knob till theyn

  • do the strings connect to the claw?

  • nice vid mate cheers

  • You should never remove all the string at once... just remove one, and put the new back in, and then remove the next one... otherwise your taking off all the pressure the string puts to the neck.

  • hey dud, what ever happened to tension protection when removing the strings, should they not be removed one by one and replaced one by one to retain the tension on the neck???

Also, when you replace a string, particularly a wound one, bend the string end approx 1" before the cutting pint to prevent bonding wounds from slippage???

There seems to be so many rules that us veteran muso's use that you have omitted !

Are you sure you qualify to call yourselves EXPERTS ???...I don't think so.

  • guys i have a gears4music guitar and have taken the back off but the string is stuck and refuses to o thru the hole on the front of the guitar any help guys thnx :D

  • guys i have a gears4music guitar and have taken the back off but the string is stuck and refuses to o thru the hole on the front of the guitar any help guys thnx :D

  • I think I am stupid. Okay...soo...after I tried tuning it after I strung my guitar (Fender Starcaster) the bridge is lifted...like...a lot. obviously something is wrong...I do not know how to fix it. What did I do? Please help haha

  • @ToXiiCvR

Yes try to grab a thin screwdriver and wiggle it around till u here it come loose the pull out =D

  • omg i hav da same exact guitar!!! 0.0

  • eeeeeeeee

  • whered you get your guitar

  • U Helped a LOT!!!,BUT 1 ADVICE!!!,***DON'T*** TAKE ALL THE STRINGS IN THE SAME TIME,DO I T ONE-BY-ONE! :)

  • thanks

  • thanks alot dude

  • my strings are stuck when i try to push them out the back and when i try to pull them

  • @sh4ne6 Take a thin long screwdriver and push down through the hole from the top to knock the little ball ends loose..assuming you have a strat with a standard sort of tremolo

  • @sh4ne6 i have the exact problem exept only the d string is stuck and its pissing me off!!!! did you find out fow to get it out?

  • but my string alone the turnpiece! and the string is too small and it's stuck in!

  • good job.thanks for posting it.

  • i tried to push the string backwards but it's just stuck. what the hell should i do with this?

  • @atrociousvicinity027 Happens when the little ball or loop end (the little metal thing on one end of the string...depends on what kind of string you are using) gets to tight in the tremolo block holes. And that's because of when you tighten the strings from tuning. I actually just had a couple strings do that to me...I used a really small alen wrench to loosen up the loop end. push it from the top of the body down, through the bridge holes.

  • Never, ever take off all of the strings.

  • you can take all the strings off at once, that's a common falsehood in the guitar community. Strings do put a lot of tension on the neck but not enough to effect the integrity of the neck. That's why the trussrod was invented, to hold that tension on the neck and keep it straight. go ahead take all the strings off, it's not going to hurt your neck.

  • @flcn92 Unfortunately, no one cares cause they are ignorant. On top of that, they are going to believe the more wide spread lies than the simple truth from one person. Anyways...as I said to the top rated comments, its a good habit to remove one string at a time in case you end up changing the strings on an older guitar.

  • never remove all strings

  • dude never remove all the strings at once youll bring down the tension at the neck

  • @guitarfreak651 don´t you have to if you change pickups?

  • @hatten7575 no you just losen the strings so its near flexible and its a homerun from there

  • wew

    wow

    waw

    wiw

  • don't remove backplate. no need

  • @LedGuitar1218

The first thing i do when i get a strat is take off the backplate. its unnecessary.

  • @SamuelllSabotage why is it necessary to remove it. the exposed hardware is susceptible to damage that way. if you just think it looks cool that way

    , thats another thing.

  • thanks man..this video really helped

  • wow I feel like an idiot, I didn't cut the loopy part at the end of the string so I had 2 unscrew the little rectangle thing by the bridge *blond moment* even though I'm not blond

  • @LOZmaster85RB shouldn't have to cut the loop end if that's what you are talking about. You need to cut the other end that is wrapped around the spulls above the nut.

  • tryin to get rid of my whammy bar. can anyone tell me how?

  • It should just screw off...It usually screws off clock-wise.(to the left)

  • @monkey0335

    Isn't left counter-clockwise? :p

  • @xerae550

    lol my bad!

  • Comment removed

  • @Morbidvengeance91 sell it. If you mean remove your whammy bar, it should unscrew. If you get rid of your whammy bar tighten up the bridge...there are three large screws underneath your saddle (that is if you are using a Strat). Got to take off the saddles blocking access to the screws. Usually the bridge is loosened when using a bar so it performs how its suppose to. Though, your strings get out tune more often when using a bar because of that reason.

  • is that a Fender Custom Shop Deluxe Strat?

  • im having truble taking the high e string out of the birdge

  • me too! -_- it seems stuck to me.

  • i have the same problem.did you end up getting it out?

  • good tips. Check out OIL SPILL ELIMINATOR ON You Tube

  • just put them on it will be fine

  • I just bought a fender strat it came with 9 guage strings but i want to use 12's, is their something i need to do first before putting the 12's on?? i really dont want to fuck this guitar up!!! hope you can help cheers!

  • unless youre an expert with getting the intonation right, take it to a professional and pay to have it set up with the heavier gauge strings. Especially if the guitar hasnt been setup since youve owned it. Thats a big difference in gauges and I would bet your intonation might be off once you replce them

  • Could it be that the strings are a bit loosen if you just replaced them?

Or do I have to adjust some things on the guitar?

  • How come mine wont just pop right out?

I push it, but i think its too bent, any idea's?

    Need an answer asap :P

  • same here i used a freking hammer and a nail and it wont come out like wtf lol

  • What happened is that you stretched the string soo hard that you literally screwed the string end ball to the metal hole so you'll need a toothpick and patience

  • I'm no expert, but he need to loosen the strings much more than he did, he's lucky that his fat strat didn't get jacked up

  • ok awesome now i know.. cuz i was just sitting around doing a song.. all of a sudden 1 string snapped... and i was like... omg...

  • OMG! dont cut them all off one that will do serious damage to your neck since its always used to the pressure please repost this so nobodys screws their guitar up!!

  • Well duh thats why he said to loosen the strings

  • No. u dipshit. the guitar neck is used to all of the pressure from the strings and if u take them all off it will bend and when u put them back on it will sound diffenerent.

  • @ChioThings that is only for guitars with attached necks. (the whole guitar is one piece) the strat has a neck that is screwed on separatley

  • @kd9603470756 still a good practice removing one at a time...for one if you are new at it you could use the other strings as reference to see how it was done, etc. Also if you get an guitar that has the neck built-in to it, then you'd already be used to doing one at a time and not all at one time, and accidentally screw up the neck because of a bad habit.

  • @kd9603470756 aside from that...yeah, you could still cause the neck to go out of adjustment.

  • agreed. Youre supposed to replace strings ONE at a time to keep the similar pressure on the neck. Otherwise, youre intonation will be off and you may be forced to have the guitar professionally setup ;(

  • tnx.. now i know..

  • Ive snapped my E string (The One Next To B)

But the String wont come out of the back

  • just pull really hard, it will come out, trust me it won't break your guitar

  • its ok i did it ages ago by using a saftey pin and pushing it

turns out it was a rot string and i payed extra for bullet ones

  • thnx

  • Um... yea, don't take off all the strings at once. If you relieve all that tension on the neck, it can damage it sometimes.

  • I said that when this video first came about on YouTube. Shortly after my comment was removed and the video re-uploaded soon after. It's a little annoying, given it's a well-known fact and not just people stating their opinion.

  • Ah, yea, that stuff really bugs me.

  • onoly on a floating trem

  • But if you want to change the pickups you'll to remove all the strings at once.

  • Well no duh. You have to. But when you don't have to, don't.

  • for me i think its necessary to replace all the strings since it will just waste money on ur strings if the old ones snap at the wrong time especially if that wrong time is when the rest of the strings snap when the ones you bought are rusted and not good enough for restringing

  • when cutting off the strings, its easier (for me) to do it above the pickups, rather than at the neck, simply because its easier to remove the strings from the machine heads.

  • y dont my strings come out the back

  • Thanx man, I was wondering if u had to remove that plate on the back, i'm like pushing and pushing and no string, duh.

  • That's what she said.

  • lol

  • some stratocasters have a hole on the plate just for such event, so opening it isn't necessary

  • that was total and utter complete OWNAGE

  • one mistake when you put on strings an tighten it the neck moves alittle so you suppose to take one string off a time put one on at a time that what my teacher said

  • well true, but you can also string completely, tune all strings, then check the tunings on the strings again. Anyway, i have never seen the need to replace all of my strings at once, so i only replace strings that snap on me. Its really not necessary replacing all the strings unless you are about to play a gig and want to avoid embarrasing moments lol

  • you get a better tone with new strings

  • thx mate

  • thanks u helped me alot

  • OMG thanks!?!?!?@/1/3oiuhdpgin

  • Tried this, but the little balls are stuck in the holes. How do you free them? Oil?

  • i dont know how to do that either

  • My guitar teacher gave me a great tip. I ended up using an Allen wrench (those little L-shaped tools) and using the long side pressed into the holes I was able to force out the balls/strings from the holes. Some of them took a little work, since they had been in for quite a while. You just need on thin enough, but strong enough. Good luck.

  • i went fucking crazy and forced them out after a while XD

  • Thats what she said.

  • hahaha

  • Nice dude. These videos are superb for that. So is Shark Week. "Look at that monstrous white one!" ...

  • thats what she said

  • Exactly!

  • dont change all ur strings at once!!!! stupid! it screws ups the neck tension etc, change from bottom to the top on at a time, u can actually rune a guitar if u always change strings in this manner

  • Well you wouldn't ruin the guitar, worst case scenario, get a new neck. But you're right, you shouldn't do it like that every time you change strings, but every once in a while it's okay for cleaning or whatever, or for changing out the pickups.

  • the experts at the store are assholes thanks 4 posting this it really helped

  • WOW. This vid extrememly helpful. it just saved me the time of going to the store and asking them to restring my guitar.Thank you
