This is a good example where Blaze's style fit the song from his era. Thats the reason why the song from that time work better when he sings and the songs from Bruce's one is better when Bruce performs it. Sign of the cross isn't the same song without the Blaze's voice, although the band behind is not Iron!

Unfortunately this band can't play the same style as Iron Maiden. Steve Harris base pretty much makes this song.  Blaze sings this song way better than Bruce. I've heard the I've heard lives versions with Bruce, and and it's not good as Blaze. This is one of the songs that clearly took advantage of Blaze vocals.

@phili666 The rhythm part not the lead is the 2nd verse just a little bit slower without the little tidbit before starting it back up again, and its all the rhythm part just after the duel lead in "Phantom of the Opera" just before the last verse riff comes back in.

But then again a lot of Maiden's material is recycled back in many songs hence their sound. I just happened to love their usage of Em, C, D over & over again, its easier to remember all their material as a Rhythm guitarist

You got that right - the drummer they had then (Rico Banderra) was the manager's son, which is the only reason he got in the band. He was so bad that the (already brief) rehearsal period they had for this show was almost entirely spent trying to get him up to scratch, meaning that the rest of the band didn't have time to get really together.

Personally i hated Blaze era in Iron Maiden, but not because of Blaze Bayley but cause of Steve Harris who has butchered what could be a masterpieces and highly acclaimed albums with catastrophic production.

Considering Blaze Bayley his voice is unique, but his skills as a singer are not that good.

I think it's great that Blaze is preforming the songs from Maiden's "Blaze era". I really like a lot of the songs that came from that era and because Maiden doesn't play them at the moment, it's great to go to a Blaze gig and hear them. I have seen Blaze once with Maiden and I have seen Bruce twice with Maiden, and even though the Guitars were too loud to hear some of Blaze's singing, he was far better than Bruce Dickinson's broken voice.

Bruce can do 2 or 3 songs at most live before his voice starts giving up, Blaze can sing an entire concert and his voice stays in tune.

I'd pay to see Blaze sing live than pay over £40 to see a bunch of greedy b's like Maiden who haven't put out a decent Album since X-Factor in 95.
