  • that's actually amazing harmonizing

  • Today for 4 Years :( was the day of days. :(

  • This makes me cry. I miss Heath.

  • It's great that Heath Ledger knew this song when he was so young. It's one of the best ever written. However, Jeff Buckley did NOT write this. Leonard Cohen (Canadian) did.

  • Um... Leonard Cohen wrote this song..

  • @ChakraW thank you; i was gonna say it too. I'm not sure Cohen wrote the first verse tho. I heard a version of Cohen doing the song & that first verse that Jeff sings isn't there.

  • @cmaster0007 He wrote about 90 verses originally I think because it was originally a poem (don't quote me). So he probably just chose different ones.

  • Heath ledger,

  • reminds me of the actor James Franco with his darker hair here

  • This makes me both smile and cry. :*] You will always be loved Heath Ledger.

  • <3 Too bad he's past on....

  • I love Heath Ledger and this is one of my favourite songs. -3 xxx RIP iloveyou

  • i wish he still alive to play as jeff B. in Jb's autobiography film

  • @don19arroyo and I wish Jeff Buckley was still alive. what a stupid comment, man.

  • Lordie me but he could have played Jeff in a movie... (looks wise at least, might need the original voice overdubbed).

  • 3:56 So beautiful.

  • what year was this?

  • hey kikou

  • @gaaradudeser hey kikou

  • This is not a fucking Buckley song. Jesus people.

  • @blueballsredhair correct but he did cover it.

  • @blueballsredhair it was a tribute to Jeff Buckley. He's covering his version.

  • Nice work;)

  • wats the song at tha end cuz 2 mi its dying funny

  • @2realmugen Made it myself

  • @trumpeter93 nice :)

  • Leonard Cohen wrote Hallelujah!!!

  • This video made me want to google pictures of heath as a teenager... he was such a sweet looking kid. so sad. such a funny wide nose and beautiful smile...

  • i love he sings

  • Heath singing is good enough and his guitar imitaion is perfect. Too bad that the video was a home made one and not supposed to be a tribute.

  • I love Heath ledger. I can't beleive he is dead. Watching this video makes me want to cry.

  • R.i.P.

  • He was amazing.

  • Hallelujah is by Leonard Cohen!!! don't forget the original poet--singer... Heath was about as good a singer as Cohen was---no one can match Jeff Buckley though Adam Lambert approaches his level, in my opinion

  • @CattailsandRoses

What??? Do you realize what you're saying. Jeff Buckley is one of the most divine artists, his songs are touching heart, soul, heaven, sky, water - everything pure and beautiful. His lyrics are deep and sophisticated, Adam Lambert can never reach Jeff's talent, and purity... It's not just about voice abilities and timbre, it's about the art, the music itself. Jeff Buckley's songs came from his heart for the hearts of all people... He's lived for music, for beauty, for love...

  • What's crazy is he could of played jeff Buckley based on his life.

  • look at his eyes its him he always had that same look

  • his voooice... amazing and beautiful. fuck u god for taking such a perfect person. :c

  • @japierdacze don't blame god, death takes everyone, whether perfect or not, and sooner or later it's gonna take you too...

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S HEATH!!!!!!!!! amazing video. I can't get over how Heath is singing this song. This touches me more then I could have ever imagine. I watch GLEE and he could easily star!!!! GO HEATH WE LOVE AND MISS YOU!!!!!

  • Air guitar loll - they goofing around together ..Heath Ledger became the legend he is today, and the support from friends & family surely contributed [x

  • You can even tell it's him because around 3:10 The guy with the camera says "Oh Heath's got it."

  • AWWWW. My heart just melted!!! Look at that friggen SMILE! Oh gosh. His dimples<3 You can tell it's him.

  • Love you Heath :)

  • lovely

  • how very sad!! the irony of hearing him sing this painful song, from beyond the grave, touches me deeply. RIP dear soul.

  • 75 people missed the like button and were sent to hell

  • awwww <3 he's SOOOOOOOOO cuteeeeeeeee !!! <3<3<3

  • He sings just as good as he acts! He should've done musicals! (and he's nice to look at:P)

  • he was good man

  • Beautiful version, but it must be said that this song is written by Leonard Cohen and not by Jeff Buckley. He just covered it.

  • I actually cried watching this.

  • terrible singing

  • How cute! xx

  • Such a good singer.. shame he has passed :( xx R.I.P! xx

  • I can tell by his face that it's him. other people can tell by his smile? duhhh!lol.

    i misshim D:

  • nice harmony! the smile was the only way i recognized him lol.

  • great singing voice

  • lol i love his mate!!! trying to dance and do like backing vocals/music hahah gold..

but this is pretty sweet!! heath + jeff were both amazing men. so talented.. taken WAY before their time :( RIP boys

  • how did you get this?? he's so good!

  • how did you get this?? he's so good!

  • heath could have played jeff in the biopic if he hadn't died....:(

    singing....no :P

  • @magicpie77 NO - he CAN sing .. check out Can't Take My Eyes Off You

  • Ironic - is it not. Both Buckley and Ledger (extremely talented young men) died before their time. What's even more ironic is that they both sang Hallelujah with all their heart and soul. It has been said that "only the good die young."

  • incredible!! i ever thought that Heath Ledger could do an ipotetic movie about Jeff... i think they are very similar... its a bit creepy that I thought it before to watch this video...

  • Leonard Cohen wrote the song, period.

  • @fromtheboot

yeah...and this is jeff buckley's version. period.

  • sweet ;D

  • nie śpiewał czysto ale jest po prostu boski, nie ma rzeczy której by nie umiał. On może śpiewać bez podkładu, ma taki melodyjny głos.

    It's beautiful! He was amazing!

  • this is so sad...both Jeff Buckley and Heath are dead at such young ages.

  • :( [*]

  • how old is he here?

    Beeeaaautiful Heath <3

  • Hes Mine ;D

  • heath ledger is the most beautiful person....

  • hahahahaha

    =]

  • I can't believe that you are not here...but that kind of person like you is too amazing for this world...

  • ..you took the words out of my mouth

  • holy smokes... shivers...

i miss u heath... and that smile. ur an absolutely beautiful person

  • he's singing buckleys version morons

  • man i miss him. :(

  • he is so cute :******

  • Anyone who ever knew heath: He was my roel model and life, before dark knight as well, and it just tore me apart, his death. I think just hearing his voice helps me get through things without him.

  • The version he's singing is Cohen's version no doubt but I wonder why some lyrics were takten from Buckley's.

Correct me if im wrong...maybe the version of Cohen's i heard was a different one but the 3 and 4th verse no doubt was in Buckley's.

  • Cohen has different versions with very diverse verses. I think it's been cut & pasted so to speak. I think perhaps Cohen wrote too many verses to put in one version and just uses the ones he likes whenever and wherever -- jsut a guess though.

  • i dont think its cohens version, first off its faster, and the verses are from buckleys and i think the biggest hint is that he sayss " yaa" just like buckley does not "you" but "ya" which is characteristic in Buckleys version

  • This song is originally written and performed by Leonard Cohen, which would most likely be the version Heath knew.

  • its by leonard cohen

  • (L)

  • Two Hero.

    Jeff Buckley & Heath Ledger.

  • Love you Heath.

    Won't forget you.

    Rest in peace.

  • yoooo lil lil lil 2v2 vbizz??

  • oh please Prizak1 don't talk like this..i mean, death is everything, death is the only main important thing in life, even if its just secondary..its really great and "good" when u think you are in love with him and everything but when i hear you saying this "death is nothing" don't know how to say.. 'gossip', you can't be serious. jeff buckley didn't wanna die, it was just this stupid accident u know?so..i think nobody should say something that make some folks think his death wasn't that direful

  • that actually brought tears to my eyes :'(

  • where did you get this?

  • so cute wish he dint have to go !!x

  • beautiful voice,beautiful person

  • I miss u heath

  • I've always thought Heath Ledger and Jeff Buckley looked similar.

Two incredible talents taken before their time. Interesting video, thanks for posting.

  • i was just thinking that too

  • this is a Leonard Cohen song -

but i get thinking it belonged to Jeff Buckley... he certainly rules the tune!

and, WHERE did you come up with this footage?

  • i luv heath ledger he is sadly missed, im actualy watching the dark knight which is one of his last ever movies RIP heath xxx

  • i wish the fat guy would shut up

  • clever little gimik on the whole hd thing

  • is that heath on the left. crikey he lost some weight over the years

  • Omg he sings wonderful. I miss him so much RIP Heath

  • Omg he sings wonderful. I miss him so much RIP Heath

  • OMH he sings wonderful. He has such a nice voice. I miss him soo much

    RIP Heath

  • OMG he´s singing so wonderful he has such a nice voice. I really miss him

    RIP Heath

  • cool

  • He's got a beautiful voice. I really miss him :( <3

  • miss them both .. But Heath, did well to do Actor^^ and Jeff singer..pretty mix

  • I miss him so much.

  • Uh I'm sure you meant "Halelujah by Leanard Cohen" right?

  • this is jeff buckley's rendition... the cohen version sucks. th only crdit i give him is writing th lyrics. not the music. Buckley's was so much better

  • Absolutely....Cohen is a terrible singer (and at least admits it).

Buckley's version puts Cohen's to shame....he was so wonderful, in voice, in sincerity, in depth, and is missed badly in a superficial business of mediocre talent.

  • I agree he's not much of singer at all, like dylan though, he was a poet, his songs were about the words, i prefer jeff's version aswell, although i appreciate Cohen was a genius for writing the lyrics in the first place. Thats the beauty of covering a song, you can make it your own. I went and listened to the original 'Mad World' by Tears For Fears, and really disliked it, The guy who covered it, and gave it more fame, turned it into a masterpiece, This is what i think happened here with Jeff.

  • didnt cohen write the chords?

i do have to admit that jeff's version is chanting, while cohen's version clearly is not xD

  • Leonard Cohen wrote the whole song. I'm pretty sure he aknowledged, however, that Jeff Buckley's version was better :p

  • I still can't believe this wonderful boy's gone forever gone...

  • Does anyone know what year this was?

  • that is clearly health ledger... i don't understand your skepticism. jeff buckley was well known in both france and australia (where health is from). it just looks to me like some college-aged guys havin' fun / one who went on to become a famous actor. ps - the song was written by leonard cohen.

  • and is unlike anything

  • We've seen Heath as a child.

  • #26 can really dance!

  • Your right!!!!! Heath is such a hottie

  • first of all the song is not BY Jeff Buckley!

  • definetly

  • Yes this is him i saw this on the news a while agooo

  • Your right!!!!! I saw this on the news in a tribute video just after he died.

  • holy shit yes
